Which is obviously something they wont do yet.
@@dabois012 Sir, you completely ignored my point. I'm happy to have them update the game. My current dream for a multiplayer base is in the Deep Dark. Could I do that in the old Minecraft? Of course not. If you take another look at my original comment, you might notice that I was talking about the attempts by Mojang and Microsoft to censor speech and regulate the content produced. Back in the day, none of us had to worry about whether what we said or did confirmed to the "Mojang brand." The LOTR mod people were free to recreate Tolkien's world in all of its glory, thinking only of the Middle-Earth brand, and it was beautiful. The Dream SMP were free to create whatever crazy narrative they want, and it was beautiful. The 2b2t people were free to do literally whatever they wanted, and it was... kinda morbid, actually, but it gave thousands of people the taste of anarchy they wanted without actually hurting anyone. In it's own way that's beautiful too. Now, first with the chat reports and now with the user "guidelines," Mojang is increasingly pulling the strings on, as their original ad video stated, "what you can or cannot do." We haven't seen the hammer come down just yet, but many of us are holding our breath in anticipation. Liquor is a major part of Tolkien's world. So, there are a couple dozen different types of alcoholic beverages in the LOTR mod. Do you think they would've had the guts to implement that now that talking about liquor ended up on the list of reportable offenses in the Chat Reports system? Do you think the DSMP having Dream persistently psychologically torturing the others on the server would have made it past the standards for the "Mojang brand?" Do you figure he'd have been anywhere near as credible a villain if they had to censor that to comply with said brand? Do you think that ANYTHING of what 2b2t is would've survived under the firm "guidance" that Microsoft set as their standards? Everyone playing the game and making content has a choice; conform to the Mojang brand, sometimes at the cost of artistic integrity, ignore what's coming down the pipe until you fall afoul just by doing your own thing, or find a way to stand up and fight together, and hopefully force the devs into a no-win scenario where they are forced to back down and stop trying to make Minecraft WEF-Compliant. I wish this battle hadn't come to the Minecraft community, but it has. It's up to us what we do about this. I wish I didn't have to make that choice, or that my choice mattered a little more in the grand scheme of things. That peace of mind that the free would stay free--that's what I miss. Tl;Dr: awesome new content is not the issue. Freedom under siege is.
This is just too true because you can find videos from every year talking exactly about this and basically saying "It's dying because the community isn't happy." But then a few months after the video Minecraft hits its new peak of popularity XD

It's not that it's dying. It's that long-time players are just not getting the same fun out of playing the game like they used to. New players, on the other hand, are having a blast and they're the reason why the game is still #1 in the world. I just thought I needed to say this because, I've felt as if the game was dying (it's not), and I feel as if the game is just getting old at this point.
Ig it’s less about the game and more about a divide in the fanbase between older and newer players. But that’ll happen when the game’s as old as it is. It is a much different game than it was 15 years ago
I really hate seeing videos like these pop up because 9/10 times, it's made by a dude wearing nostalgia goggles and complaining about how the game is no longer the same. There are legitimate criticisms to Mojang (the way they handle updates, lackluster spinoff games, etc), but they aren't as terrible as people are claiming them to be.
The "Minecraft is no longer the same" thing is stupid. A game that got through many years constantly being updated is obviously going to change over time, but those people apparently doesn't know that or they just don't want to admit it.
I just despise when these essays just throw up the whole wiki when you type "Minecraft", as their introduction. Like, they thought we were: "DUH, who is that Mine Craft guy?? xp"
It’s getting really annoying how 90% of discussion in the Minecraft community is just doomposting about how the game is dying when Mojang doesn’t add 2000 new biomes and new features every update and how there aren’t enough of them
and when they do, the “fans” gonna complain about how Minecraft loses its original identity and appeal, like wtf does Mojang supposed to do? The fanbase is the reason why the game is dying 🤦♂️
what gets me is how entitled people are about updates. like do they realize this is a 14 year old game? we should be glad we even still get updates lol

@@GDNachoo you are completely right, a lot of people feel as though they are entitled to updates and believe that the speed mojang works at is too slow (most of these people likely have never touched anything to do with making a game). On top of that, I think it’s important to realise that, despite 1.19 and 1.20 seeming small compared to 1.16 and 1.18, they are far larger than the updates the game used to receive such as 1.1, 1.2, 1.6 and 1.10 (these are just a few examples and you could really apply this logic to most of the pre 1.13 updates)
There's also always a part where they wax nostalgic about old Minecraft being boring, and then complain that the updates progressively made it less boring

Minecraft even has updated caves and nether which are things the community wanted. If you wish it was the same game, you wish mojang wouldn't update the game anymore.
Freedom under siege is.

every year like "the mob vote is killing minecraft because the wrong mob keeps winning"

@@thebrustkid7080 True. Very true.
Some people seem to forget that if they do something constantly for a long time, they are going to eventually get bored of that.
It's almost like the game's been out for a decade. Ofc it's gonna feel stale, that's called burnout
Some people forget that there are actually more video games than Minecraft, and then get suprised when they burnout on it.
And they aren't Horrorible as Rovio
@@AAOA2009Holy fucking shit you just opened up the memory hole mentioning that company name…

Why is Minecraft dying?
Because you aren't a kid anymore and you don't feel the same awe and excitement about new updates because your adult expectations are warped by the events of life. The truth is, Minecraft is simply not as magical as it is for you as it is for your kids, or just kids because you are possibly a lonely virgin.
