how copper bulbs ruined minecraft and now nobODY WILL EVER BUY MINECRAFT EVER AGAIN AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE IRL (Part 1 of 4: A Comprehensive History of Minecraft)
I've played this game since I was in elementary school and now I am 22. When I was a child, this game was mysterious and it evoked a sense of wonder in me. I was ACTUALLY scared of Herobrine. I didn't know about every single structure, biome or mechanic that existed in the game. As I entered middle school and moved away from my friends, I started playing multiplayer more and more. I would hop on random servers and start new factions, go to war with other factions, make friends and sometimes get betrayed. It was a way for me to socialize when I had no friends at school. Then I entered high school and made a friend group. We had our own server on Pocket Edition and we would play vanilla survival together at lunch breaks. I also started watching more Minecraft UA-cam video series like Hermitcraft. Then I graduated high school and quarantine happened. Thanks to multiplayer Minecraft, I felt connected to my then boyfriend even though we weren't able to see each other for months. We would spend hours strip mining and building while we chat. After quarantine, I started playing more singleplayer and got more into building. I would spend hours trying to decide which blocks to use for my villager houses. And now, I got more into modded Minecraft and play automation mods. You can't expect a game to resonate with you the same way in every stages of your life. You might feel nostalgic about your childhood, but that's not the game's fault.
Same, I started playing around when it first released on xbox because whenever Id visit my cousin Id play it on his xbox, then eventually I got it on phone and my wii u and played on just those for years before only playing on phone, and until like 2 years ago phone was all I had. Once I got a pc the first game I got was Minecraft and I still play it constantly. I play other games to but even after all these years Minecraft is still my favourite by far. If people genuinely get bored of Minecraft or find actual issues with it I think thats fine, but the people who make these videos most of the time blame mojang or the community when its just them having Minecraft burn out or just not being creative enough to truly explore the game to its fullest. And yeah most of my fun memories with the game are the ones of doing fun stuff with my friends and just hanging out, but even single player survival can be super fun as well.
@@e1ow Yess I especially agree with the creativity part. Minecraft is a sandbox game so you can't expect to get the full experience without using your creativity. Also, sometimes people want Mojang to add only late-game related stuff. Yes, Trial chambers will be easy if you go in with full Netherite armor... Yes, the loot you find on abandoned shipwrecks will feel useless if you spend hours strip mining for diamonds. People rush through mid-game stage to the late-game stage like it is a Korean MMORPG
"They add copper but not add copper tools and copper armor" Even if they did, it would be weaker than iron (since it's way more common) and start complaining about it being super useless.
Mentioning jetstarfish woah I like he idea of copper being for powered rails instead of gold but if you add his "super powered rails" COPPER IS JUST OBSOLETE *AGAIN*
I'd be fine with that sort of Copper stuff. If they want to make Copper abundant, it only makes sense then to add things that include them in their requirements. Copper equipment doesn't have to be tough as iron, to me it just needs to be a good intermediary till I'm ready for iron as a whole. I just don't build with those blocks. I only ever use the Spyglass and Lightning Rod.
@@daktotathecolossus7404 The iron hasn't been generating that much in my world seeds, and I think it's because some of it's being surpassed with Copper and Andesite + similar. The most luck I've had is with caves that take me to Deepslate, since that usually has everything. Otherwise, I barely find much.
Someone should make a video essay titled “The over critiquing of Minecraft and the silencing of the builders” because the builders despite being such a large part of the community, have basically become shunned and silenced. Like in one of jet star fishes videos, he specifically calls the builders p***sy’s
“We need to fix the problem that players are encouraged to keep all their items in one place” Jet, bro, you’re saying that *owning a home* is a problem.
I have this mod called Better Archeology and I do reccomend it a lot, you can actually get bones and it makes my nerd brain whir like OMG I found villager fossil bones!!
My problem with archaeology is that the gameplay experience is kind of shallow if you're not going into it to perform actual archaeological interpretation from the drops. I think the concept is neat and I have enjoyed the handful of videos of professional archaeologists going through their finds with it, but as a mechanic that exists in the game there's just not a lot to do with it. It just needs a repeatable extrinsic incentive IMO. Like if there were bits of jewelry or decorative ornaments you could find that are largely useless but valued by wandering traders, there's a solid reason for players to seek out sites and a distinct object to think about rather than like, glass panes.
If I explained why we didn’t like those types of updates I would get berated, buuuuut It’s because we seriously do not care about world building 💀 the caves and cliffs part 1, 2, 3 and 4 proves that. Nobody likes the new mountain stuff, or the frogs, or the new swamps or the insane over bloat of biomes. The only time people seemed to care was fireflies, and I mean come on they had it coded in already 😐
Most of my irl friends just aren't gamers, and I had a hard time enjoying the game until my sister also got an account. The single player experience can be really lonely and melancholic if you didn't grow up with the game

I agree that people have the idea of minecraft backwards. People often forget that minecraft is a sandbox game with a survival mode, not the other way around.
Mojang can only do so much and I think they’re trying to push a narrative that Minecraft should be RPG whether they realize it or not, which literally takes away its sandbox identity and with it, the freedoms it offers to the player.
Idk where people even get that notion in the first place, that and that it should be more combat focused. Nothing about what Minecraft has ever been was an RPG or combat focused and it has never marketed itself as such. A key part of RPGs is different builds and classes. Minecraft doesn't have that. It only has one very simple gear set progression. It never had anything else. And the combat has always been extremely basic, with bosses rewarding you with things like the beacon and shulker boxes and sponges that make building easier. The mobs aren't shown off as scary enemies to fight. They are marketed as cute mascots. Even the slogan of the game is "build, create" Genuinely where did people get this idea it was going to be some combat focused RPG with linear progression? It's like a person watching trailers for a romcom, going to the movies and seeing the posters that call it a romcom after watching reviwers call it a romcom and then leave the theater complaining that there wasn't enough action scenes and so the movie sucked.
@PlaceHolder16 The game hit full release 13 years ago and they have consistently been releasing major updates entirely for free. It's the most played game in the world and it makes most of its money through merchandising. They don't have to add anything to the game at all but they do it anyway. I genuinely don't get people who call them lazy when we live in an environment of 60$+ games that drop unfinished with paid battlepasses and microtransactions and then you gotta wait for the 20$ DLC and then they never add anything else to the game ever again. Mojang has honestly been super good to its playerbase comparatively and I think this idea that they are "lazy" or "greedy" stems from how much of the community literally do not play any other game outside of Minecraft. And if they do, they are on Roblox. Where most of the content is made by users who are usually underage and then the monetization is extremely unfairly skewed in favor of Roblox itself instead of the creators.

Also, the fact that they only mention core game mechanics such as building and multiplayer after they introduce their ''perfect solution'' was done very well too. Only under 600 views is criminal, you deserve way more attention. Also I thought your presented perfect mod would just turn the game into generic 3D Terraria that's focused on nothing but boss rushing and weapon progression. Speaking of which... The people who compare Minecraft to Terraria and constantly say how much better the latter is drive me insane honestly, years ago I was this kind of a dummy too _(Which is ironic, considering how back then everybody thought otherwise),_ but now I realize how dumb it is. Both games, whilst packaged as ''sandbox'' games, are radically different and comparing them to one another *(AND* saying how much Minecraft sucks just because it's centred around building and multiplayer instead spamming attacks on bosses out of 10 trillion different weapons that are mostly reskins of the same thign _COUGH COUGH)_ is just complete lunacy. Thanks a lot for making this video, *TOGETHER WE CAN FIGHT AGAINST THE ''MINECRAFT IS BORING'' MENACE!*
I dont have a problem with the getting bored videos if they actually like- played the game, but most only mention like 2 or 3 parts of the game, say it needs like 5000 more wepons or something, or yeah, want it to be more like terraria, and thats fine and all, but Im just confused about why they dont just play modded if thats what they want, mods are a huge part of minecraft that they all seem to ignore, same thinf with multiplayer, whenever they present ideas its always stuff that when done in multiplayer would kinda just be really bad, mojang has to think of every type of player when they release an update, mods dont, thats why they can come out faster mods are targeted at the specific audience of player that wants that mod, mojang has to think of pvp, pve, builders, redstoners, explorers, roleplayers, casual players, MULTIPLAYER, and a bunch more with every single update they release.
I think you're the first person mentioning how terraria has too many weapons, i haven't played the game so correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they some items that are so rare they just become a trophy (like that slime staff). Also they are too many ores that basically do the same thing - make gear, tools ect, again you can correct me if I'm wrong.
@@e1ow To be fair, it's a valid to criticise the base game for half baked mechanics. Combat in Minecraft is pretty meh most of the time and not super interesting at least in PVE. The existence of mods can't excuse its various issues. But the point about mods is correct. Mojang being a large company under Microsoft also ties their hands probably plus they have to dedicate so many resources to fixing Minecraft's broken code because it's so old and make sure it runs well on as many devices as possible including mobile. Mobile alone probably holds back the game a lot frankly. Minecraft is still Minecraft. All the great things about it are still there. It could be a lot better in many areas...but the core game is still incredible.
@@yassifieddino1792 Yes you're correct. I'd say Terraria suffers from being very bloated and each item having little thought put into it, just there for the sake of being. And the people who want Minecraft to be like Terraria very frequently say how bloated *MINECRAFT* is! It's all very silly.

They have a beginning and an end, and a duration, and a name. Do you know why they do this, do you know? It's all for viewing! I know, I know, it's hard to believe, but videos are made for someone to watch, you know? For the sake of views. It's good that I'm not like that. THIS IS THE END! When will you understand that even MOJANG after purchasing the company no longer works as it should?! What do they add to us? No. WHAT DO THEY ADD TO US? WHAT IS THIS? 200 NEW BLOCKS? 15 NEW DIMENSIONS? 14 NEW MECHANICS? AND 7 NEW REDSTONE BLOCKS? Is it really so difficult to do more?! The community, I mean ME, has been asking for a wicket update for 25 MINUTES AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED!
You gave me a good laugh with this video, especially for how much these sorts of videos are like. XD With these kinds of "Minecraft is Boring because I've been playing ever since the dawn of the universe" videos, it makes me think of how my actual criticism of Minecraft's current design. Minecraft is much more obsessed with you being a completionist with all of these items, blocks, creatures, and bosses and the new items all do one hyper specific thing, rather than play with the systems that were built up years ago.
Don't forget the part where they insist that mojang never builds upon previous things and instead choses to bloat the game with new "useless" crap despite the fact that like 7 of the past 10 updates have been solely focused on revamping old parts of the game (caves and cliffs, nether update, etc)
"They need to add more to new structures" "They need to give a use to copper" "You never have a reason to go back" Ok but they added the copper brush and archeology and in doing so they expanded previous structures by introducing suspicious sand, which has new unique loot and since you need the brush to access it, you may not be able to loot everything at once and have to come back to the structure later. "Nooo archeology is useless!!!1!!1"
I would also argue that the trial chambers is a revamp of the monster dungeon that was added to the game like what, 10 years ago? And thus is very surface level due to technical limitations. They have the same core idea, fighting enemies to gain some special loot, though the trial chambers obviously have way more thoughts put into it.

how copper bulbs ruined minecraft and now nobODY WILL EVER BUY MINECRAFT EVER AGAIN AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE IRL (Part 1 of 4: A Comprehensive History of Minecraft)
Exactly, visually and like for some story stuff or decorations itd be cool but other than that idk

I like he idea of copper being for powered rails instead of gold but if you add his "super powered rails" COPPER IS JUST OBSOLETE *AGAIN*
I'd be fine with that sort of Copper stuff. If they want to make Copper abundant, it only makes sense then to add things that include them in their requirements.
Copper equipment doesn't have to be tough as iron, to me it just needs to be a good intermediary till I'm ready for iron as a whole.

Archeology is pretty neat I dont got any problems with it, wish there was some sus dirt too but thats literally it lol
Archaeology has problems with it
I have this mod called Better Archeology and I do reccomend it a lot, you can actually get bones and it makes my nerd brain whir like OMG I found villager fossil bones!!
If I explained why we didn’t like those types of updates I would get berated, buuuuut
It’s because we seriously do not care about world building 💀 the caves and cliffs part 1, 2, 3 and 4 proves that. Nobody likes the new mountain stuff, or the frogs, or the new swamps or the insane over bloat of biomes. The only time people seemed to care was fireflies, and I mean come on they had it coded in already 😐

The moment they call Mojang Lazy, I just stop listening to them all together
Even the slogan of the game is "build, create"
Genuinely where did people get this idea it was going to be some combat focused RPG with linear progression? It's like a person watching trailers for a romcom, going to the movies and seeing the posters that call it a romcom after watching reviwers call it a romcom and then leave the theater complaining that there wasn't enough action scenes and so the movie sucked.
Adapt with you audience or fade into obscurity.
They definitely are kinda lazy tho

Speaking of which... The people who compare Minecraft to Terraria and constantly say how much better the latter is drive me insane honestly, years ago I was this kind of a dummy too _(Which is ironic, considering how back then everybody thought otherwise),_ but now I realize how dumb it is.

Some time ago I thought about this problem and tried to see if anyone else had made a video with a similar theme. But surprisingly, no one talks about this AT ALL. NO ONE AT ALL. ABSOLUTELY NOT A SINGLE SOUL! So, Minecraft does not exist, and the main reason for the extinction of our game is the disbandment of the party of beer lovers. But that is not all. The main reason Minecraft fails is that there is so little "minecraft" in it. Throughout the game, I learned that not a single mine can be crafted. I CAN'T ENJOY A GAME THAT LIES FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! But that’s okay, the main reason for the decline of Minecraft is that all Minecraft videos are the SAME! Don't believe me? Well attention. With these kinds of "Minecraft is Boring because I've been playing ever since the dawn of the universe" videos, it makes me think of how my actual criticism of Minecraft's current design.
"They need to add more to new structures"
"They need to give a use to copper"
"You never have a reason to go back"
Ok but they added the copper brush and archeology and in doing so they expanded previous structures by introducing suspicious sand, which has new unique loot and since you need the brush to access it, you may not be able to loot everything at once and have to come back to the structure later.
