- This is a pure platinum run on hard for Bayonetta. I will not be using pulley's butterfly or the killgore switch technique. It will feature full commentary and yet Sega will still try to stop you ever seeing this.

Truly great showcase of skill and mastery over a subject. It was interesting to hear the anecdotes and information from your viewing of the developer commentary. I watched some of that too, but not much. It was hard watching your run at times knowing the frustration involved in it. I know I never would want to have taken on such a feat, but I'm glad that since you love the game so much, you shared it with the rest of us.
I know im super late but I really enjoyed the gameplay and commentary, and for anyone watching, when jubileus summons the nebulas you can double jump and activate crow within if you dont wanna get hit :)
Despite playing Bayo 2 for a good 100 hours, I only ever got halfway through Bayo (uni distractions) so have been Platinuming my way through it on the Switch. Stumbled upon your channel and somehow watched your entire Hard PP series, which I’ve enjoyed immensely. Incredibly useful and the commentary’s also very entertaining and enlightening. Plus I very much enjoy your digressions. Great stuff, tah.

Little tip for the Black Hole Attack, as long as you're not touching the ground you wont get sucked out of the Hole. Like you could just hover over the Hole and you'll survive.
Just feel lucky that the alfheim wasn't a witch time only one with Jeanne. I like doing double afterburner kicks to crow within to avoid the nebula galaxy things without stress. Anyways, awesome performance! You really motivated me to get all platinums on hard and then as my confidence grew to get all platinums on finite climax and I've got to say thank you. There's something special about getting the pure though and I appreciate all the work you put into this. I guess I'll be waiting for the lost chapter pure platinum video next.
I often miss my afterburner kicks and get the helm splitter esque move. Very annoying.
TheSeraphim17 ya it must be rougher on a pad since you either have to press them really fast or wiggle your thumb from A to B. With a stick I get to simply input that move with separate fingers.

For that final alfheim, can't you just intentionally fail it (get hit 4 times) to restart it instantly, to avoid that hellish run? You can still get a pure platinum on an alfheim that way.
Haha. Yes! I can't believe he replayed the chapter every time he failed the Alfheim. Hahahahahaha.
Ok! Here we go. Verse 7 is SUCH a pain. But there is a strategy to alleviate stress on the player. Unfortunately, both the combo and time ranks are SO unforgiving and incredibly frustrating BUT, the idea here is to hit multiple sections so that your combo increases from 30 to 45 from multiple wicked weave stacking. However, it's not really clear how to do this consistently. So i like to equip the Bracelet Of Time and Eternal Testimony and activate Witch Time to help build the combo. Just slice the first sections of Jubileus with Shuraba and try to chain the rest with the electric Durga activating Witch Time occasionally. Don't forget to switch your accessories for the ending credits. Good luck!

I hadn't seen a game where you fight during the closing credits before anyone played this game and beat it. It counts towards the total of Pure Platinum. It's interesting. This is a unique game.
Really, really awesome gameplay and just super enjoyable overall with your great commentary, not to mention this game will always be one of my favourites. I completely forgot about the credit fights lol, gotta play this again at some point, it's too good but I fear it will lead to some unwanted Bayonetta 2 hype :(

It kinda feels like Bayonetta 1 wasn't designed with pure platinum runs in mind. Especially for this final chapter, a lot of the things that are extremely frustrating in a pure platinum run either aren't an issue or don't feel as cheap when you don't care if you make a mistake here or there.
Yeah, it can feel very arbitrary at times.

You know, you can create your own checkpoint by entering and exiting the alfheim...
I didn't at the time.
Not to mention that failing and restarting an Alfheim won't affect your score.
I thought the exact same thing about the planets! The first time through i had her hit pluto and i got pissed....
It's funny watching this after the fight I had the other day. I wasn't going for Pure Platinum, but I did regular Platinum the stage because if the final phase she just never uses the galaxies or insta-death attacks. She did nothing but keep punching and I melted her down super quickly. I think I got basically perfect RNG. XD
Okay so here, when your in the 'wind realm' there is a way to kill the hair without jumping to them constantly, what you want to do is simple, when you attack a hair on a platform, what you want to do us face the next Hair, Lock on, than Back Foward Punch, this will keep your combo going and it will help save time.
Ik its super late but if you want to get a checkpoint at an alpheim just go into the portal and then back out and it will save

I'm curious: given all that you've achieved with this game, do you still have any personal goals with regard to it? Do you feel there are still things to discover or be surprised by? Maybe you could play as King of the Little Devils someday, lol. Amazing guide, quite impressive, and I look forward to your Bayonetta 2 coverage in the Fall.
There's tons left to do with this game, but I think I'm gonna have a break until the Wii U version in sublime 60FPS

Are you going to do a blind run of Bayonetta 2, or a run similar to this?
I'm not too sure as it is a Nintendo game and they flag everything on youtube, so there is no point doing a massive project when it could involve constant flags and maybe even strikes.
You are good but I have 2 questions. 1 Is there a need to get pure platinum everywhere for some reward? I feel like I am going crazy trying to and would hate it all to be just for game history.
2) Verse 1 I get a higher combo and shorter time with zero damage but my bonus is only 600 making it only a gold. Is there something we do to get that bigger bonus?
How do you do those big hand attacks? I didn't know you could equip feet
For the attack that turns you into a Child, simply Jump, than Double jump as high as you can, than use Crow/Owl/Phantom Within. You'll float over the Galaxies and they wont hit you.

I know I'm 5 years late, but if you get hit during an alfheim, than just die. Since the Death in Alfheims dont really count against you, you can just let your orbs get depleted than start the Alfheim over. You'll still get a pure Platnium. Just as long as you didnt lose an orb.

What the fuck? Verse 7 I can't get because the time is too long. Even though I finish it at 25 seconds left and you have like 15 seconds left. Bullshit.
I want to die. I'm normal, on Switch, doing more combo and less time than you and SOMEHOW I'm still not getting more than gold... And taking nos dmg obviously. Who touched the score requirements for the switch version ??? Show yourself!!!
That alfheim is piss easy if you learn how to panther offset
