  • This is a pure platinum run on hard for Bayonetta. I will not be using pulley's butterfly or the killgore switch technique. It will feature full commentary and yet Sega will still try to stop you ever seeing this.

i think they really fucked up by putting that stupid rocket section before this amazing boss fight

Flying section too long; player shouldn't be judged on a shooting section when this is an action-oriented hack and slash game. I abhor this stage.

I still don't have the chieve for this, 48 out of 50...

Slumbering Dragon Entertainment Spam items (the round yellow lollipops). It isn't the most honorable way to go about it, but boy is it effective.

Same here. And on infinite climax I had to use tons of items on flying section alone......plus I never got past JeanneXD

"go hammer a nail with your head" best thing I've heard all week, also great boss fight there, reminded me of when I was soul focused on bayonetta a couple years ago.

    That Jeanne fight was awe-inspiring.

I was complaining of Jeanne not using wicked weaves enough against me during my pure platinum run of the hard mode and there she was against you, spamming them, especially in the first phase, there are like 5 Madama legs and fists on the screen ahah

Going for pure platinum in normal, die in a qte in the middle of Jeanne fight...
I love this game but this chapter is brutal and too long, sadly the boss fight it's amazing for me, Jeanne is such a cool character.

I love this game but the QTE sequences are just trash...
Insta-dying because of a QTE is always stupid, I hope they won't that kind of stuff in Bayo 2.

This has to be my second favourite boss battle, only topped by Nelo from devil may cry (specifically round 3). Nice work getting the no damage rank. I did this on infinite climax today and settled with getting hit by two wicked weaves which blew my platinum rank. I don't like this stage because I have to go through the boring space harrier segment just to get to the boss. Whereas every other boss chapter lets you get quickly into the actual boss fight.

You spend so much time fighting Jeanne without witch time that on infinite climax the fight is very similar. It's the same with Jubileus.

I never noticed the Platnum games building at 13:22 whole playing this game lol.

Yep, every boss fight is very similar on infinite climax. My strategies used to revolve around getting witch time so things seem different to me on infinite climax. Now I just use panther to evade and space in or out from enemies easily. I find non-stop to be much more fun then hard. Surprisingly it wasn't any harder getting a platinum run on infinite climax. Just different... yet still similar... Fuck it I don't know.

hammering a nail with your forehead; that is a great metaphor for button-mash games lol
Also, put a platium feather in your cap for that boss battle with Jeane; how the fuck you can focus, beat a boss, AND not take damage with a platform that's just rocketing all over the place with the background moving as well is nothing short of godly 0_0

To people complaining about the QTEs. Its always either Y+B or forward+A just like the two you keep getting in RE4. Its just a thing of getting used to... there are much faster QTEs in other games I shit you not!
But I recommend getting the counters because if you are good enough at tapping you can get like 600 gigatons and do MASSIVE damage to Jeanne.
Also a message to Chris : If you can do the fucking Million Slash with Agni & Rudra in DMC 3 you can button mash your way through every QTE :)
The thing with God Hand is that you are supposed to mash ALL the face buttons at once, not just circle. So what you can do is whack your thumb in the center of the face buttons... just make sure you exercise your right hand before that :D

When you started to fight Jeanne that was pretty awesome sadly I might not get this game, but maybe its sequel.

You get this game with the sequel.

My biggest annoyances are the QTE's since they simply don't give me enough time to notice what button they want me to press. A lot of times I'll assume they want me to press X(PS3), I'll press it just to see that it was actually square, then I'll press square but nope... it was literally a split second too late, and there's a death.
I also have a problem with how they handle deaths... Why do they have a separate screen for it? Why can't it just straight up ask me when I die to try again? It's just so annoying waiting over 10 seconds just to get back to a really silly QTE. Not only that, but I really dislike how they punish me for dying at the end of the level. I could have only gold and platinum medals (without the Alfeims), and easily obtain a stone statue for failing the QTE's. I'm not even sure how they calculate it, it seems like one red skull lowers your rank by 1 statue? They should have just used the cumulative damage, and ignored deaths all together.
I actually didn't have any annoyances with the camera except for the Jeanne fights. With MGR I thought the camera was a problem, and I think I had issues with DmC's camera as well. As fun as Bayonetta is, I just can't help but wonder why they made certain design decisions...

Good points here. No game should ever ask you if you want to continue. It's redundant (though part of me suspects it might be for loading). If the person is still sitting in the chair, of course he wants to continue playing. Otherwise he would walk away from the console.

I don't even get motion sick or any likenesses and have beaten this game no problem but looking at it with all the white of the youtube screen around it whilst it spins hurts my eyes something fierce.
More on topic I sadly seem to be under the impression Bayonetta 2 is going to sell like shit. :(
The Wii U is not exactly the platform of choice for most people looking for a next Gen console that are into action games. (the only other action game is the casual Hyrule Warriors and the casual DW market and the more hardcore action games audiences don't really overlap that much[ + any Koei fans that would be interested are likely to get a PS4 instead due to many of the Warriors games getting Sony exclusivity as of late ) That topped with its lackluster sales and Platinum games first next gen entry being Xbox 1 exclusive most (action game) fans will likely start there. Like any Wii U games it'll probably get a bump in sales once Super Smash releases but by then the company will likely have already pushed the possibility of another release to some ridiculous date, canceled it outright, or tried to sell the license to someone else. This is what saddens me. anyone have any good points for why Bayonetta 2 wont fail on the Wii U?
