  • The Heliocare 360° Water Gel came highly recommended as amazing SPF for oily skin - lightweight, water resistent and comfortable to wear. Do I agree?
    Will this replace my current favorite outdoor sunscreen, the La Roche Posay Shaka Fluid?
    Let's talk.

    As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    Here are my two cents about this sunscreen:
    I’m darker than Dr. Anne (about NC37 in MAC, I’m between medium and medium dark depending of the brand) and I don’t have any problem with white cast when applying three fingers of product. So I can imagine it can work on complexions darker than mine.
    I still don’t know if I consider it truly hydrating as I didn’t feel it made my skin more hydrated and my sister needed to use a heavier moisturizer while using this sunscreen.
    I think it’s a good sunscreen and I can also recommend the gel cream version, that while targeted to oilier skins I consider “less dry”. I use the tinted versión in beige for reference, but if I get tanner I need to go with bronze.

    Hi! I love Helio Care and Isdin, and that's what my dermatologist recommended me, so, happy to see a review, too! I wish prices were lower! Regards from Barna, M

      I used to use ISDIN a lot too, but they were involved in a sunscreen scandal similar to the one with Purito two or three years ago where their products did not live up to the SPF claims and I have been looking for alternatives ever since.

    Good Morning from Australia Dr Anne…..you look so young and glowing without any make up😀
    I don’t think this product is available in Australia but love listening to your videos regardless….I have my holy grail tinted SPF 50 which goes on every single morning

    Amazing timing! I got it recommended from my dermatologist 2 days ago! The version oil free is the one that I'm using and it's amazing how it dries up! Perfect for oily skin and only new sunscreen ingredients and mixture of chemical and mineral! Thanks for the review!

      @@DoctorAnne I feel it is a little drying on the skin. But I like the finish a lot. Also with a moisturizer underneath it stays too dry over time.
      Do you have another option for me to try? I dont like the larosh posay ones. ;-) and I dont like too heavy sunscreens either.

    I was wondering about the frangrance in sunscreens, this brand is really good other than the strong fragrance, I like to use Heliocare 360 mineral fluid around my eyes, the whole range with Fernblock is pretty solid, also like the lightly tinted Ultra Cream and Gel spf90, work perfectly BUT that smell, I've never had a stronger scented spf. Did not see 'parfume' in INCI first time bc I always look for it at the end, but this brand the parfume is like ranking around the last 8-10th...

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +3

      I am usually not bothered by any kind of fragrance in skincare as I am not allergic, but too strong scents can give me headaches. This one is perfectly fine for me, but scent is of course incredibly personal.

    Spectacular as usual 😍
    Here's my thoughts about this sunscreen:
    Advantages: this one can provide great UV protection thanks to the powerhouse UV filters. It has no white cast, non greasy finish and spreadable texture.
    Disadvantages: it burns my eyes terribly and it's not really affordable.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 роки тому +3

      I am sorry to hear that - so far I hd no issues with it burning my eyes, but I am not sure if I ever brought it really close. But yes, it is not affordable at all, which is a shame.

      @@DoctorAnne I don't know why but people who live in tropical countries like Vietnam (my country) find it terribly irritating to their eyes. But it's really a strong sunscreen, so yeah, we can give it a try. Haha. I have been eyeing the Ultra Violette Extreme Screen for a very long time. That brand is really famous for wonderful quality of sun protection and high costs.

      @@TRANTRUNGHIEU1901 Hi, I dont understand why this sunscreen is so specially strong?? It is 'just' a spf 50 and it has a UVA protection not very high I think. I thought they said on the website around 16.. That is not a very high UVA protection. That is 1/3 of the SPF and this is what you get in most Europe sunscreen where the UVA is also 1/3 of the SPF... So I dont understand why this is sooo good. :) Just curious to here.
      And why they protect against HEVL I dont know. It can also be that they put in some antioxidants and then tell us it protects against blue light..
      I think I will send them a email.

      @@user-gc3rv6jw3n you might find out that my answer is ridiculous and doesn't provide enough/ any evidence but I do believe in companies that specialize in a product that is their strength. They own advanced technology and they can conduct research and testing. May be the same UV filters, the same sunscreen index, but with different formulas, technologies, conductors, and support agents, the two products will be much different in terms of sunscreen effectiveness. This sunscreen protected my skin very well in the extreme sunny weather for a long time.

    Thank you so much for the review! I am thinking of getting this sunscreen but whether is eye-safe or not is something that really concerns me, since I've read that many people experienced irritation/itching eyes (even though the product says otherwise).

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  2 роки тому +2

      I think that depends on your eyes and how sensitive they are - I don't have issues on a regular day, but when my eyes are sensitive (lack of sleep, long hours at the computer, hay fever) it can burn if I get some in my eyes.

      Don't know whether you've already tried it, but I did and I love this sunscreen. It is the only one as good as LRP Anthelios Shaka Fluide for my skin, but the only thing that I dislike is that it does, honestly, irritate my eyes, although I try pretty carefully not to get it in my eyes when applying of course. But, throught the day it almost always happens that somehow it gets in there and it itches and burns my eye for 10-20 minutes sometimes if I don't wash it off.
      I do have very sensitive eyes though.

    Q.1) Does methoxybenzoylmethan ( avobenzone ) in heliocare 360 water gel would give same protection like titanium dioxide ( nano ) in heliocare 360 oil free gel.??
    Q.2) are hybrid sunscreens like above one gives much more better protection from uv rays than physical / mineral sunscreens ??

      I think using a dedicated face wash is always a good idea, not only because of the sunscren, but also because of the other dirt that gets on our face during the day. If you don't want that, water and a washcloth are an option.
