Toyota 4AGE Engine Throttle Body Service (2/3) : Cleaning the ISCV Idle Speed Control Valve

Do you have a high or surging idle on your Toyota equipped with a 4A-GE Engine? Does the idle keep high even after the engine is warm and up to operating temperature? You may have a clogged ISCV (Idle Speed Control Valve). In this series of videos I show you how to remove the throttle body (Part 1), how to clean and diagnose the ISCV (Part 2), and finally how to put everything back together, re-tune the TPS (Throttle position sensor) and lubricate throttle body in preparation for its installation in the Toyota Corolla AE86.

When I disconnect the coolant hoses from the IACV, do I need to bleed the coolant once I reinstall it? I went and bought a new OEM one since my old one was completely shot.

good idea to bleed the coolant anytime you mess with the system. Don't need to drain it, just run at operating temp w the cap off and top it off as it bubbles down.

My ae86 starts up n idles fine, but won’t rev..it dies if try to rev it. Can that valve make it do that?

This might be an issue with the timing. It happened with my 4age engine
