    I fasted for 21 days, from December 28th - January 18th 2020. Nothing but water and a few times apple cider vinegar. To cleanse out toxins, I got three weekly high colonics. By the 7th day, I couldn't stop staring at my face in the mirror. Unbelievable and glowing doesn't begin to describe my skin.. I looked so youthful and my skin was so clear, I did not want to wear makeup. I don't know if I can go that long without eating again, but I want to just for that one benefit alone. I turned 47 in the middle of the fast, January 15th by the way😎

      But I think u need amino acid for collagen production? Fasting for 21 days with only water and vinegar seems do not have enough amino acid for collagen production in skin

      @@catmusic6178 I did use apple cider vinegar my first week but it became to be too much.. Never once thought about collagen, not once. But my body is tight and my facial skin glowed and surprisingly got very " bright", almost light. Dunno why.

      @@catmusic6178 no, well intermittent fasting, maybe.
      But immediately after, you ease into eating or you can become very sick and a few people have died. I had watered down cream of chicken soup and flavored seltzer water for 3 days. Then steamed veggies for 3 days before having spaghetti.
      I gained 8 pds in two weeks.
      I wouldn't suggest going carb heavy at all after such a long fast.
      And I forgot to mention that my fast daily was water and pink Himalayan salt. I only had ACV the first week.

    As I have said before, I had psoriasis for over 25 years, slathered on cortisone creams and several other “remedies” for years, just to try to keep it in control, nothing healed it. I’ve been Keto and fasting for 18 months and my psoriasis is 100% gone! When I started Keto and IF, I didn’t know it would heal my psoriasis, I had no idea. Dr Mindy, your teachings are invaluable.       Kim Ambrose, LVN It varies, I almost always fast 16-18 hours everyday. I try to get in at least 1 24 hour fast a week, and a 3-5 day fast every 3-5 months.

      Phuong I eat a lot of ground beef, because I love it and it can be used in so many different ways. Steak, Salmon, eggs, avocado, some veggies, I keep it pretty simple. I limit cheese and nuts, only because I have a hard time controlling myself 😉

    fasting helps really well. I am 39 and I am often estimated at 26. i have a son of 16 and people often think i am his sister. I have been stuck for 3 years. I also feel fitter, have lost 35 kilos

    Green tea, fish oils, bone broth is my staples since in my 30’s, IF & OMAD since August & never look back 😊 felt so good in my early 50’ than in my younger years 😆 best remedies for menopausal 😝

    I've been fasting for 2 years now and I always have people tell me I look young. I'm 45 and people in their 30s think they're older than me. I've always had a babyface but I've noticed how much my skin has improved in the last 2 years.

      @@kshitijadhikari8606 when I was starting out to lose weight I had an eating window of about 2 hours a day. I would also do 48 and 72 hour fasts.
      Still now I never eat all day at work then I come home and have a little snack when I get home then have my dinner a few hours later.

    I’m watching so many of your videos and fasting as I’ve done previously. The benefits cannot be expressed in words. Fasting makes me feel fabulous, light, energized and much happier.     I watch this video over and over again cause it has just so much information !! I have a few skin issues ( rosazea , among others ) that are the main reason I do extended fasts ( 2-4 days )
    I wish there were more videos on skin issues . I know there is so much more you want to tell us ❤

      It works! I do alternate day fasting going at least 46-48 hours. I do eat mostly healthy keto. I LOVE fasting! It's great for weight loss. I'll be at my goal weight by December. Once I reach my goal weight, I will still do at least two days a week of no eating going 46-48 hours. I also LOVE OMAD.

    Thanks for the tips. I was going to stick to 48-hour fasts hoping autophagy would heal my psoriasis, but with bone broth I can go 4-5 days without the 4th day headache.

    My amazing Mindy, I love all your videos! I am able to go 21 hours fasting- which the thought of 2 months ago scared the hell out of me! My savior? Coconut oil in my morning coffee. For me that works and does not change my glucose levels. I am so excited about my new body- my not moving 10 pounds is gone! I'm visiting my daughter in 2 weeks and I can't wait for her to see my change! oh yeah, my energy has returned! Used to be I was so exhausted after work and I've noticed lately that I don't have a problem needing to run into a store or finishing up something- love this, thanks Mindy 💘

    Strength training is also important while doing +24 hour fasts to take advantage of HGH increases to increase not so much muscle but strength which is a key indicator of increased lifespan.

      I am a maintenance mechanic and I can work all night on fasting days with an increase in energy as long as I drink plenty of fluids. I find coffee is no good on those days. I am physically stronger than all of the younger mechanics.

    I'm benefiting so much since starting keto with dr berg now I'm hungry for more information and i find your videos amazing I'm not the same person I was 3 months ago...I was sluggish bored aching hurting all over and totally fed up and didn't know what to do...so now as a 52 (soon to be) woman after a short 3 months feel amazing and now I'm teaching my children good health they are more reluctant but they are getting it slowly ....thank you for all your advice you are saving and improving lives

    Im just doing IF. Lost 30lbs. Its definitely been a process of learning the do's and don'ts, but I feel amazing, and my skin looks great!! Im using some great skin care by The Ordinary which just enhances the effects of If.

    I have done intermittent fasting by eating one meal a day for one month, and this month I am lazy so I start eating two or three meals a day again .... after watching your video, I will keep doing OMAD in future.

    I'm doing the 24 hour water only fast one day a week and the results for me are amazing. My mood and energy the following six days are fantastic. I've been doing it for 6 weeks and I really feel I will never give up my one day of fasting again. Over those six weeks I've only taken one Tylenol pill, and that was to relieve some discomfort I was feeling during a 24 hour fast I was extending to 36 hours. So the fasting days can sometimes be a struggle (boredom is the biggest obstacle for me), but the following week makes up for it. I feel great and I think my testosterone levels are also increasing.
    I subscribe because I find your videos informative and helpful. Thank-you for sharing this information, especially the effects over time of a fast, that's very useful to know.
    P.S. I fast on fri starting at 6pm and go to sat 6pm, that works best for me. The rest of the week I stop eating at 6pm and don't break my fast for 13 hours.

    im 45, just days of intermitten DRY fasting turned my skin super saggy all over my body. then I broke into an extremely painful ichy rash all over my body. I did loose weight and reduced my chronic back pain by 80% in just days. I suffered with depression, chronic pain and chronic fatigue, all reduced by at least 80%. mindboggling!

    Im on a 36 hour fast, 13 hours left. Can't wait to go to sleep LOL. If I feel strong ill stretch it to 48 hours.
    Within the 36 hour fast im doing now, I did a hard dry fast for the first 12 hours

      @@DrMindyPelz Do you approve and think longer water fasts are worth it? I've done two 14 day ones and attempting a 21 day one now. I do get a lot of benefits but question if it's worth it due to the withdraw detox symptoms.

    I agree with fasting for skin....mine has improved massively.
    But also my skin has improved since cutting veg and going 100% carnivore.
    Maybe we're all different but veg did me no favours at all...in fact my joints were very sore when I was on a keto way of eating.

      The opposite with mine, i love meat and hate vegetables but eating more fruits and vegetables made my problematic skin healthy and maintained my ideal weight

      I have the same problem. Fasting is not in public opinion always seen as healthy. My goal isn't weight loss, but rather the benefits of fasting, but it's difficult if you have to fight carb cravings and you see everyone else snacking. I've got acne that I really want to heal, and I'm new to the fasting lifestyle - currently succeeding on 13 hour fasts. But I'll need support to be able to do the longer fasts. Dr Mindy, you're really helping 👌.

    Talking about our skin Dr. Mindy...? So ... just this morning ... sitting with the husband of 44 years ... having our morning coffee and he says...”your skin looks amazing...”!!! This after our FTW ... and I’ve actually stopped using my usual face cream with 10% AHA I’ve used for literally years like 10! More evidence that my new fasting lifestyle for just over a year ... is doing exactly what you are selflessly researching and then sharing with anyone wanting to listen. Hoping my brain is cleaning up so as not to follow Mum into dementia. Also want to mention that as a 64 yr old “hot-flash” sufferer... they are few and far between while fasting .. just another one of my reasons... love it ... love you ... your Karma bank is busting ... lol ... how’s that for corny!!!

      Hi Beverly. Have you tried omega fish oil for your hot flashes? I started out with an inexpensive Cod Liver Oil liquid and within 4 days the terrible hot volcano like flashes stopped. Then I researched a higher quality fish oil and found the Barleans Lemon swirl immulsified fish oil. I switched over and noticed my brain worked better, I slept better and the hot flashes stayed gone. You might want to try it. I was so very miserable with my hot flashes. I thought OMG I cannot live like this ! It made me mad and depressed. That is all gone now. Yeah!! Love Dr Mindy too of course!

    I've done a raw goat kefir and raw goat milk fast for a week and my skin was glowing and very clear. I wasnt hungry and had a lot of energy. I make my own kefir at home by the way.

    Whenever hives would take over my arms id do a 5-7 day fast and it would heal and resolve .. i by accident found it to work .. everyone else would say i eas nuts.. i love that now with the volumes of info on fasting i know why it works .. thx for this clear reinforcement on the subject

    Great information. Thank you. Interestingly Ayurveda also emphasizes on the importance of fasting and attaches importance to the intake of fruits, green veggies and nuts. Are coming full circle to the roots again.

    I was at a funeral during my 5 day water fast and several people commented on how good my skin looks. One relative asked me if I had a face lift!!! I am also WFPB with occasional salmon when I feast!!

    It is interesting because I used to eat different ordinary dinner but since I have been fasting 24 hour once a week, I feel like eating raw vegetables for dinner and dark colour fruit during the day, 100 per cent pomegranade juice, black berries.
    When I fast I can feel the oil making my skin suppler from inside. Something that happened years ago.

    Diatomaceous earth was said to be good on top of the skin. I won't mention the person was also selling it as ingestible for all kinds of benefits. I bought it for my plants still but thought that was interesting. I'm glad for the focused video on this topic! My toddler sabotages me from a real good fast or that is my excuse for now since I'm still nursing. I probably won't be eating the dirt though. Thanks for making me actually learn Dr.!

    i am making my own bone broth for health benefits. been doing it going on two weeks. i have notice the difference. homemade is cheaper and it is far out weight store bought by cost and health.

    Yesterday, I travelled from Beograd 🇷🇸 to Timişoara 🇷🇴, over 40 hours between meals. 💚 🧙‍♂️ This is so easy 🐈🎶twenty fold or thirteen fold increases. Skin is still a bit saggy from losing 4 kilos, but not much.

      @Yeshua Saves OMAD for several months. 💚 I'm 70, so it will take longer to get back into shape. 💚 I had an upset stomach, so ate not for four days, except for dairy, coffee and water. That got the last few kilos off. 💚

      Try avoiding all dairy, and if that doesn't work avoid all grains. I know it sounds drastic but it worked wonders for me

      Fruits contain fructose aka sugar. They say small amounts of berries are ok though
