Here, here I agree 100% it is about time parents are held accountable for the shitty job they are doing in raising a child. REMEMBER hate is LEARNED no one is born hating anyone the parents MUST help bring that hate out, and if they do they must PAY THE PRICE!
In this case it's only because they provided the gun and refused to get him help when the school warned them. In most school shooter cases they either bought the gum themselves because they're 18 or they stole it from a family member.
If my child had been killed by someone whose parents had been warned by the school several times that he was mentally unstable, who refused to take him home to deal with the issues, and on top of all that bought him a high-powered weapon for Christmas, I would be seething with rage. This was so utterly, completely, tragically avoidable. This is the definition of negligence. It may even rise beyond negligence and into contributing to the delinquency.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 This is what I’ve been saying about these parents as well as Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother and friends father. Enough is enough with this crap! Parents need to be charged whenever they contribute to the delinquency of a minor. Especially when someone dies and it was unnecessary and avoidable

James and Jennifer created this monster, they must be held accountable for the actions of their son, actions they set into place buying a 15 year old a powerful weapon for Christmas. Because of their lazy, spoil him rotten parenting style four families will never celebrate Christmas with their child ever again. I hope they’re prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and their awful son too.
@ Chronic Payne: A 9 mm pistol isn’t that powerful. Powerful yes when compared to a .22, .25 or .32 caliber. But most calibers are more powerful. Take for instance .38, .40, .45, 10mm, .357 magnum, .44 magnum and the .500 calibers. Even the .223 pistols, all more powerful. Too many to list. What sets the 9mm apart is it has moderate power, lower recoil and high capacity magazines. That’s why the 9mm has such a popularity. But that kid could have killed as many or more with a .22 pistol. It’s all about shot placement, hitting the vital areas. Any caliber will kill if used properly. Something else to consider is ammo used. Ballistic tipped and hollow points are far more lethal than fmj. The biggest mistake is buying a lunatic any kind of weapon. Those parents had to know their son was mentally unstable. Second mistake was not keeping the weapon locked up. Youth’s can be law abiding fire arms owning citizens under the right tutelage. It all starts at home with the parents. Started my sons off with a BB gun at about 6 years old. Then a pellet gun, then a .410 shotgun, then a .22 rifle. Then moved up to deer hunting caliber. They were under adult supervision when using any type of weapon, gun safety stressed at all time. Preached accountability and responsibility of ownership. Had gun safety courses to get hunting license. Above all, guns, even the lowly BB gun was locked up when not in use. Kids should not have free reign with weapons.

They gave Ethan everything except the help he needed.Tragic story. What parent in their right mind would purchase a gun for a minor and a troubled one at that. My condolences to the victims and all the students who were traumatized that day.
@shontemartinez I also thought how tragic for that 1 teacher who reported him to the office that day. The office just blew that teachers concern off and sent him back to class. She or he will also have PTSD for life. They will question should they report another child? Will the next child they report shoot them on the way to the office? They must be questioning how they didn't themselves get shot for reporting the kid! Yes that teacher, the admin who sent him back to class to begin a killing spree and student there and at all other schools are always traumatized when this happens again. Gun was purchased last Friday (black Friday) as a gift for this Christmas. I am pretty sure now based on the evidence coming out that the parents had some idea that their son had issues and was unstable. Parents brushing off the school officials concerns about the disturbing actions and notes like they were quite accustomed to their sons state of mind and didn't care. Not to mention that tell tale text the mother sent the boy the day of the shooting. "Don't do it". Implying she may have known what he was thinking of doing or done. Why his parents thought giving him a gun in with his mental state was a good idea, is just ludicrous. Just like the Connecticut shooter. Mom got her emotionally unstable son a rifle. He turned it on kids at an elementary school. Also ended up killing his Mother with the same gun. I guess the Crumbley's got off lucky their son didn't go full circle.
The real joke is that they only ordered him to pay 67$ a week for a child while he was making 6 figures. I’ve heard of people working 15$ an hour who have to pay more than that. Yet he still didn’t pay it.

Yes schools are absolutely responsible for making sure every child in their school is safe and then gets home safe, and in this they failed. They are absolutely responsible for make sure bullying and questionable behaviours do not happen inside schools. They should have flagged him, possibly referred him to children’s services and suspended him. But they are not responsible for what happens with children outside of their care, or what led Ethan do what he did. That responsibility belongs on the parents. Parents don’t want teacher’s having to much control, nor should they because they are teacher not parents, but you can’t also say in the same breath that you believe teachers should be held responsible for every single thing that goes wrong with a child’s upbringing. Parents need to step up, take responsibility for their kids and make sure they are helping their kids. I’m speaking as a parent. As a parent it is my decisions and responsibility to make sure my children get the help they need, whether academically or otherwise. I am responsible for marking decisions about what school they go to and I am also responsible for their health care. It's legal to gift a firearm to a minor. The law states that anyone under 21 years old has to be accompanied by an adult over 21, who is lawfully able to possess a firearm. That's for handguns. Long guns are different. I was hunting by myself at 12 years old. My sons were trained in marksmanship and safety before they were 12. They were told to use my firearms to defend our home if necessary when I was away, but not to touch them otherwise. They obeyed. Some people are just too crazy to be trusted with anything, especially people who had shitty parents.
In some situations I can see a parent having 100% control over a firearm that might be sentimentally their kids until they are of age. Hunting rifle, sporting shotgun and possibly in some cases a pistol. This situation is obviously not an appropriate one. If your kid wants to shoot sporting clays and hunt birds and you make it a family thing with safety courses and everything, ok but if your kid is drawing pictures of carnage, making threats and fantasizing about death a firearm should never be available to him.

This absolutely fits in with his( and her) past arrest record. I believe her. This whole situation was clearly an explosion just waiting to happen. And now that they are being charged, they are on the run. That says enough right there. And all of this could have been avoided if only the school would have heeded the CLEAR warnings. Just incredible.
The schools don't prevent that is why we are all seeing all these tragedies, they want us to wait and see then it's to late, I saw this in my prek sons school and I took him out of there ,there is alot of red tape and everyone knows it's wrong but are afraid to do the right thing, all comes down to money and test scores. These kids can't and won't learn until we help them emotionally and change their behavior in a positive way.
It is your job as a parent to make sure your child isn't doing ignorant things. You are not suppose to be their friend. You should know who what where why and when with your child. It is your job to make sure that your childs mental health is in check. If you can not do any of this then you don't deserve to have your child. If your child does something as horrible as this then you as the parent should go to prison right along with them. This is not ok! These parents are prime examples of them being a friend instead of a parent. Smh
I wouldn’t say friend because a true friend looks out for their friends. These people weren’t even trying to look out for this kid and now look what he ended up doing.
@@Grimmes12 I myself am a son of a single mother with three children who is an immigrant work her ass off to be where she is now and I am making 6 figures and I am about to turn 19.
The parents should be charged with child neglect as well. The school officials warned them and they refused to get their son mental and emotional medical attention.
A classmate stated that the shooter was bullied. The school officials didn't do anything for bullying and waited for behavior problems. They should be charged along side of the parents.
It’s way past time that parents should be held accountable for their children’s actions. The actual problem is not being truly addressed , tho, just the immediate problem is being recognized. The actual problem is dysfunctional adults having and bringing up dysfunctional children.
We have to hold All Parents responsible for their children's access to fire arms within their own homes. As in all these incidences they are fully aware of the mental instability of their own children. As we all question the mental stability of parents who refuse to take proper responsibility for securing these firearms. I asked how are they not culpable? Especially those parents who made the purchase of these Firearms specifically for their childrens use. This is the least they can do to help prevent this from happening at all. They need to be held responsible and liable for their children's actions especially when they have grossly irresponsibly contributed to it.
2a ppl would feel attacked. I support 2a, but the extreme 2a who constantly think someone’s after them and keep a whole armory would never take responsibility and hide their firearms. They’d complain and cry about how they need to react and blah blah blah. Until their mentally kids grab a hold of their guns and kill innocent ppl
police should be able to check 1 id for proof of age for gun they are carrying 2 conceal and carry or permit is up to date and legal 3 every gun has a number should be registered with the number.( no number gun gets destroyed they need number system) dnr does it every day for hunting/fishing.. if everything is good u r on your way.. if not then ride downtown and gun that is on the person at time should be confiscated and destroyed not resold. chicago 120 kids shot last year. start at age 11. others making guns at home and in garages. need new laws. you cant know what kid will do with gun thats why it needs to be locked up , trigger lock,etc... if not locked up or used under adult supervision someone needs to answer for it. last week shooting 4 yr old kids got gun from under couch cushion and the dad says i didnt know kids would find it there or be in the room at the time. why would u keep loaded gun under couch cushion and acts like its not His fault for putting it there.honest to god. police depts sometimes have free trigger locks for guns otherwise 14 bucks.
Some child are just horrible and won't listen. So if my child bought a gun off the street and hide it inside the house I should be punish for it? I shouldn't be responsible for their action if I did not buy them the gun, let alone know about it. Some kids just need some old school spanking, but thats out if the picture since the US has gone soft.
As long as the child is being tried as a minor. But you can't charge them as an adult and then treat them as a minor in every other aspect. If he's an adult, then the parents aren't responsible. The inconsistency is what I have a problem with.
I know how she feels!!! My sons father married a woman and they had a son...she's deranged, he goes with it, and their son is abusive now at 20yrs old!!! CRAZY! Also, only paid $68/wk in child support and was far in arrearage when my son turned 20!!! 😆 Whatever, my husband (his step-dad/ real dad since 3yrs old) did all the raising...thank God!
Many parents think just because they have kids, they think they’re correct and can treat their kid however they want/act however they please in front of their kid, and wonder why they turn out the way they do. Every parent should be taught developmental and personality psychology at the very least. It feels so overwhelming knowing how many horrible parents there are out there that aren’t self aware enough to recognize, they shouldn’t be parents! I’ve gone down SUCH an extremely dark path of true crime stories on UA-cam lately. It seems the majority of the time when they’re not drugged/on drugs/in a psychotic episode, the killers had experienced abuse and/or neglect by their parents.
Licenses to have children might save plenty of children but there are many places to find help with parenting. Most people parent as they were parented, some successful and some not. There are some very successful ways to parent and some not.
This seems a little irrelevant, but I'm glad that this person got this platform to voice their years of frustration. It's unfortunate that this is what it takes for a single parent to get heard about getting screwed over by their partner. It happens too often..

Strangely, It's refreshing to see people blame the parents. Most of the time I see people blaming the system, the schools, the advertisements, the big corporations, news, or the president, but I personally believe that a parent has more effect on their kids than any of those things I mentioned above. Parents have so much control over their kids, it's actually quite crazy. Most parents either don't realise their power over their kids' lives, or they abuse or ignore it. Being a good parent is extremely hard. It's so sad how many parents fail to teach their kids the basics of morals, such as not to shoot people or not to eat tide pods.

His parents left him in the jail and left the zoom court appearance during their sons arraignment and went on the run. Then when they got caught and arraigned started crying. That should tell you something about them. This woman is lucky her son was living with her now. One thing that surprises me is that Michigan doesn't require gun owners to have their weapons locked up.
But it goes beyond what is legal. It was immoral and unwise to buy a 15 year old child a gun of any kind, esp. a semi-automatic pistol. It wasn't a gun for hunting, but a weapon that is used to shoot people. And, yes, isn't it illegal to buy a gun for a minor? Parents like that are unbelievable. But also the school should have checked his backpack. I am astonished that they didn't. He would have been immediately suspended from school. A tragedy could have been avoided at least on that day. By the way, the first wife said exactly what I guessed about wife #2. The defiance in Jennifer's eyes in the mug shot tells alot about her attitude. It is too bad for Ethan. My prayers are for him and for the families whose children were gunned down. We have to lock up the guns and schools need to use metal detectors.

Ethan's That mom texted him "not to do it" tells you the difference between the parents. Then he and his wife ran ran instead of looking after their son when they should have been with him.
Just looking at Ethan, from even old school photos, you can see there is something wrong. Ethan's teachers tried to warn the administration, the administration contacted the parents and told them he needs to go home and get into counseling ASAP. The parents response was no and the administration accepted that instead of going with their instincts and suspending him.
The mom in this interview seems like she knew what Ethan and his parents are like. It is a good thing her son was home with her instead of his father's home.
Ethan made his decision, but it sounds like no one except the teachers tried to really get him help. When a teacher has concerns about something like this and you see some evidence, then you had better listen to the teacher.
Let's hope that the actions of the school administration (and the possible legal, financial and professional consequences) may force changes that would prevent a repeat (at least to a significant degree) of something like this.
The crumbles are innocent if you disagree your a racist point blank!
They would have had to lie on the Federal form ''Are you you buying this for some one else ?'' The lie is the crime.
Whatever, my husband (his step-dad/ real dad since 3yrs old) did all the raising...thank God!
Now what about those people at the school who put him back in class?
Yes!! School definitely let the kids and parents down. Wtf!
Unfortunately no one will focus on that but they want to point fingers there should be pointing at the school as well
@@erinsue5 They were using Obama's discipline rules. Which means kids do not get what they deserve.
He would have done it the next day.

*There's no way I would bring the spotlight on my son at this time! What a stupid thing to do*
Jennifer and James Crumbley are horrible people ... but comments from his other baby momma isnt exactly an unbiased opinion on "just facts"
Same thing I was thinking!!!
Court docs show the father has unpaid child support for two different women in Florida.
I thought the same.
I agree
I was thinking the same thing. These parents are horrible, but this video clip is heavily biased.
They gave their son everything except common sense
Impossible to give a gift you do not have.
I absolutely agree.
Right. And so many parents are actively instigating this attitude of "if you can't deal with it, kill it". All in the name of 2A.
Licenses to have children might save plenty of children but there are many places to find help with parenting. Most people parent as they were parented, some successful and some not. There are some very successful ways to parent and some not.
What bothers me is they obviously had money, but failed to provide for the other son.
Lmao 240 pounds? I think he’s eating just fine
This seems a little irrelevant, but I'm glad that this person got this platform to voice their years of frustration. It's unfortunate that this is what it takes for a single parent to get heard about getting screwed over by their partner. It happens too often..
I was thinking the exact same thing. The dad is a piece of shit, fair enough. I don’t think it’s pertinent to the case though.
i disagree i think it is very pertinent. it shows his parenting style and the fact that him and his wife knowingly gave an underage age child who already had behavior issues a handgun. they spoilt him rotten and handed him murder weapon so yes lock them up!
@@daniaa1602 yeah I see that I guess. It shows he has poor character.
@@m.i.d7174 Possibly it does because this is someone who has experience with these set of monsters. And she was being transparent about the whole thing. And the fact that Ethan's parents let them have whatever they want, just adds to the case of the parents being charged.
This is relevant, whenever you are charged with a crime, anything you did back in kindergarten is fair game, luckily we don't have to go that far back. He's a bad father to his oldest son and speaks to how he is as a parent.
I believe this woman.
James & Jennifer Crumbley are monsters.
You believe the one person who already hated him the most?
The school failed also….they let him back in school which shouldn’t of happened…
The school has therapists and experts…

Well when you take the easy road, and not actually parenting, this is what happens. Prayers for the families who lost their kids. Parents step up and be a parent! Not a friend, a parent!!
@@dadozygaming right! I agree 💯. I am a father of 4 daughters. And I believe in being a parent. I have friends who try and be friends to their kids, and it doesn't work out. My daughters know if I raise my voice, I am serious, and they better stop! And raised them to respect others, unless disrespected. And to always have manners, no matter where you are. It's sad to see these kids with no parents involved just running amuck. It's crazy. Thanks for the response
@@petermcdougall1152 Wow! Much respect to you. I only have one daughter, and I have to say that being a parent is so far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life! Fortunately, my wife is an amazing mom, so I can't even imagine what life would be like for me or the kid if one (or worse, both) parent was counter-productive!
This really gives the definition of the Family from Hell, damn
The crumbly parents and Ethan crumbly are disgraceful and should be priced secured it to the fullest extent of the law. Those parents will be fine I have no doubt about that. I am outraged as well as I know everyone else is. Such a tragedy! My prayers go out to everyone that has been affected by this horrible situation.

You shouldn't be so judgmental Lori.🙂
Let them CRUMBLE in prison 😡 !
This case has nothing to do with Brian Laundrie’s parents. Nothing at all.
1: never EVER buy your son or daughter a gun, why would you knowingly buy your child a weapon and he was *UNDERAGE* the only exception to them using one would be if you go hunting or to the shooting range but they’re under *YOUR* supervision at all times
Secondly: the next time a student is giving multiple red flags (like he did) maybe its best they detain that student before he/she does something stupid unnecessary or tragic like this
This!
There is something not normal about James. How do you go from making 6 figures to driving for door dash? I'm watching him mouthing the words, "I love you", to Jennifer, as though he is on a date and not under arrest for manslaughter because he very disturbed child killed 4 people. And I won't even get started on that,,,,woman.
They’re gonna have a hard lesson (needed for a lot of “parents “) you can’t give love by giving things; not everyone who fathered/birthed a child is a parent. MAXIMUM OF EVERYTHING FOR THEM.
I would not shed a tear if one of the victims family's sought their own justice on all three of them.
Yeah more violence works great, just look at chicago 🙄
That’s not how justice works.
An eye for an eye
@@EsotericOccultist what do you think prison is? Lol sunshine and rainbows? It’s literally a house of violence, only difference is you don’t see it from outside so it’s okay lol
Me neither
Keep your son safe from them as they are on a run.
$67 for child support? my dog eats more than that a week, lol
Very sad situation all around. This child needed help and his parents and school faculty failed him. So many lives ruined and will never be the same again.
Too bad there has to be a law for that I'm the first place. It SHOULD be common sense and intelligence that dictates that.
It takes a man and a woman to conceive and have a child, it takes an entire community to raise that child to adulthood, someone forgot to tell this child how precious life is , and that it is never yours to take except for self preservation, what in Gods name was he thinking, i can not even imagine the pain those poor families are feeling right this second. I Wish i could take some of that pain you folks must be feeling i can't take all of it but enough to make one evening bearable , i am so sorry for your loss.
Kind soul, your comment speaks for me as well. I wish all good things for you and your loved ones.
Couple hundred dead in Chicago and inner cities dead each MONTH, kids dying on the DAILY, but this is soooo tragic...ffs...
@@circesoul2218 It does take a community to raise a healthy child to adulthood, to protect them, educate them and provide for their needs. It is something that many people have forgotten. Often parents need help and they should be able to find it in their community.
LET'S FACE IT THEIR SON'S PROBLEMS DIDN'T START THE DAY HE KILLED THOSE KIDS, THESE PARENTS RAISED HIM THIS WAY AND I TRULY HOPE THEY GET PUT AWAY FOR A VERY LONG TIME !
“Some parents deserve respect, most of them don’t. Period” -George Carlin.
People are taught that we deserve to be respected without actually having to do anything. Do you think we should respect people by default, or should people have to earn it?
There are pros and cons to both approaches.
George who? He's a nobody, and his opinion is worthless. Where are the facts to back this up? Most parents do the best they know how. Some are awful.
@@518hs George Carlin, one of the most influential stand-up comedians of all time, as well as an immensely successful author and actor. The better question here is “who are you?”
Furthermore, you clearly misunderstand the distinction between an objective claim and a subjective claim, the latter of which requires no proof because it’s nothing more than an opinion. If someone were to say “I like dogs better than cats” you wouldn’t respond with “where’s the evidence” without sounding like a fool. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what you just did.
