- Seaside, late November. This is about the only action I ran into this fall. You had to find the bunker to find the bass to find blitz….and after a long day on IBSP we decided to check one more spot, which turned out to be the right move. Realistically this could have been any stretch of beach in NJ during the fall run…it’s just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.

Thanks for filming/sharing your experiences. That must have felt wild, being in the water with the bait. We slayed them off of AC/Brig. in Dec. We just looked for/found the gannetts, rolled up to/under them and dropped the diamond jigs to the bottom. It was alot of fun! Cheers!
They went WAY late into the winter months and started early at the Raritan this year. GREAT fishing 🤙
Back, then, when, we depended on seagulls to point the way and i'm not saying this is not done now but today you need to go out on a recon mission to locate baitfish, time , tide and weather would be a big factor of where the bait fish congregate and as you said where there is a lot of bait there will eventually be fish. Thanks for telling us the outfit you use can't wait for your first video for 2022.

That’s my home beach every summer and it’s kinda, eh, it’s…alright. I’ve caught a few kingfish and snappers over the years.
I wish I could be there during the run, that’s another ballgame than when I’m in town. It’s usually skate and dogfish city.
Hey, if it bends the rod, it’s all good. I’m blessed just to have that limited window.
I’m geared up for fluke this year and plan on being out there every morning and evening.

@@FromtheSurfNJ other than a cow nose it was skunk city until the last weekend. There were fluke around, but I think my presentation was no bueno. At the end of the trip huge schools of bunker and blues came in from both lavallette and seaside. Such big biomasses that you could smell ‘em from the beach. That morning I was ripping em on every cast. Full disclosure, a lot were snags. But at that point I was so frustrated from a bad week that I didn’t care.

When you fish island state park in NJ where do you park, do you need a permit etc? Can u walk to the beach and fish without a state park permit? Can you be specific where to park, street name etc.

Tried fishing the surf today in N Wildwood. Had a 20+ NE blow all day. Nobody caught anything. Back at it in the morning!
Sometimes it’s like that. I pulled the iron man yesterday at IBSP. Watched the sun come up, watching it go down. All day on the beach. Plenty of short fluke, but nothing really to show for it. Sometimes it’s like that 🤷♂️ just keep at it!

Lol definitely the heights this year was brutal as hell. Went to the same spot a couple times this year.
Just got a text today from a couple buddies who said that they’re still out front because it’s unseasonably warm. I just haven’t been out there to take advantage with two kids on holiday break
@@FromtheSurfNJ I see post everyday but I never know if the shits fake or not either. The bait shops and their are tryna lure us in like we’re tryna do the fish. I’ve done my fair share of travel up and down rt. 35 all season but I’ve been hitting night bite every time plus I get the beach to myself. It’s definitely hit or miss.

Years ago, we never had a sand eel bite. We had plenty of bunker and would catch plenty of big blues, not bass, at the time. When the bass rebounded, we were now getting both. Unfortunately there are just a lot less fish around. If you are lucky enough to be on a body of fish, you will do well. If not, you're going to get skunked. My season was brutal.
Sand eels, bunker (adult & peanuts) as well as herring are all now in the surf.
I want to say “I’m glad I’m not the only one”, but I’m not glad. I’ve had convos with others in wawa parking lots who are experiencing the same thing. It’s just about having a good network and knowing where they are. Here today, gone tomorrow
@@FromtheSurfNJ there has been (& still is to a slightly lesser extent) good numbers of stripers around. Up until recently my friend and I have been doing good in the back bays at night and more recently the day bite out front has significantly improved with bass to 35”s. Sometimes you have to move to keep up with them and other times they stay in the same area for a few hours. Topwater and smaller gliders have been the ticket.
