I got a Chinese cabinet at the garage sale for $50 thinking of painting over. I found out that it's very old and worth around $6000. It's for sale but it may take some time. Chinese furniture isn't my style and I'm glad that my intuition told me to do the research.

I love your Dad he’s right. The creative mind is always creating but this world isn’t understanding of that mind. I have to tell myself not till I finish what I have. Not till I complete the project. I see a new project and I have to do it, I have to get the stuff to make it. Dad is a great balance to keep you on course.

I can relate to Debi- I thought my friends were going to stage an intervention until my handyman cut a hole in my ceiling and put in a ladder for me- 30 more feet of storage space!!! I was in heaven. Then my little 8 year old neighbor girl came over and asked me what eccentric meant. How much you want to bet that is what her parents call me- hahahahahaha

Genius idea! Love this mix! Some of us hoarders just love stuff and see POTENTIAL in random items so we save them to live another day! Currently living at my place, an antique sled, several pairs of old skates and a doll cradle all cuddled in my studio watching me wade through trying to find something! Like in Toy Story saying “ha ha good luck with that, lady”. Blessed and energetic days!

After watching this and reading through the comments, I am at least assured that I’m not the only one who saves/“rescues” everything I come across for someday projects. I had to have a little talk with myself a few months back and just admit that I can’t do all the things and still have time to spend with my loved ones, keep up with my housework, enjoy my garden, etc. I have been slowly purging and (re)organizing my stockpile of stuff. I’m currently in the final week (I pray!) of remodeling my bathroom, so that project has priority at the moment and everything else is driving me nuts. I spent a couple of hours yesterday just putting away tools and supplies, and reorganizing shelves in my utility room because I felt so overwhelmed by the chaos that I wasn’t getting anything done. I too crave peaceful surroundings and struggle daily to find balance. I had to restrict my projects to my studio or my shop area, because for awhile, there were partly completed works in progress all over my house… By Saturday, my bathroom vanity will go live in my bathroom and no longer reside in my living room - and I’m actually excited about getting to clean up my bedroom. It’s been doing duty as supply storage, as well as housing all my bathroom stuff that needed to be out of the bathroom while it was being completed. I just keep reminding myself that I’m almost there!
The head planter turned out so pretty! I’m going to refrain from ordering my own head for the time being though - maybe in a few months…
I love these videos, and seeing what y’all are up to. I was a bit jealous of the girls when I glimpsed that gorgeous water. And hopefully I don’t sound like a weirdo, but I say keep showing your feet! Your channel, your videos = your rules! Have a blessed and awesome day. 😊

Cover your furniture at night. I have the same problem. I feed the wild birds below my balcony but the little buggers come up for the night. I love feeding them & listening to their chirping, so covering the cushions is a small price to pay.

A regular water bottle lid may fit your water bottle. For the birds, you could try a rubber snake on your furniture and an owl. Amazon has owls that the head will turn every little bit so it looks realistic. You do have to move things around regularly because birds are smart and they eventually figure it out. Love, love, love watching your videos.

Debi, I watch another UA-camr, Robby and Gary they’re in Southern California and they’re plant and veg growers. Anyway she uses TULLE. You know the wedding veil, poodle skirts, tutu material, super fine, mesh fabric. She uses it so that the deer, the rats in the bunny rabbits don’t eat her food and they feel that it’s a trap but birds would do the same thing and it would look really pretty off of eBay, you can get yards and yards of it and get a color that you like so you could just kind of drape it around off of your umbrella to the house and cover it and then they can’t come down. That’s my idea .beautiful Hawaii love it. I’ve been wanting to go back since I was 15 when I went with my grandma and uncle. This Styrofoam head looks awesome. You’re doing such a great job and keep up the good work a little by little a little becomes a lot just like eating an elephant it’s one bite at a time …what a gross saying.

I am the creative daughter of my creative Momma. She was also a sentimental hoarder, and also handed that tendency down to me. She passed over six years ago, and I have inherited ALL the stuff. She also had a crafty business, so lots of supplies and unfinished projects. I will never be able to complete the UFO’s, or use all the random supplies, hers and mine… sad, and extremely difficult emotionally, mentally. and physically. Letting most of it go to others who will make use of it, but keeping ALL the memories and Love. 🥰💖

Hi Debi, in the UK we have something called no nails. It's a glue used in place of nails. I don't know the equivalent in USA but if you can find this online give it a try to lay down your molds. It sticks really quickly and is an excellent product to lay down molds. It will never come off and I think your molds won't slide either. I got this tip from Lel on made by Marley. Another awesome u tuber. Worth a watch. 🌹

I tend to have a million projects going on, and it's like creating a mess of clutter along the way. Then about 10 years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD. Now I fully understand more how my brain works, and how I can help myself in the process. My husband is very tolerant but he still gets frustrated with me too. I also can relate to when things go over the top, it is overwhelming. I am now in the process of moving, and so if it helps, just know, you have a kindred sister going through her process too. HUGS to you! WE CAN DO THIS!

Debbie I relate to you. The way I work this obsession of keeping everything I see potential in is creating boundaries. The way I set my boundaries is by not giving me permission to get more things until I create something with what I already have. And space usually is what dictates when is healthy to get new things. And when something is too great of an opportunity I shared with a friend or my husband to get their opinion, to get it or not. In that way I don’t feel I am too hard on myself. ❤ I am not preaching please don’t take it as if I am 😊❤ I am just sharing what is working for me.
Love your video as usual. Keep working on de-cluttering, it really pays off to have a space that helps you feel at peace and encourages you to create more beautiful things. ❤️

Regarding the birds on your patio if you hang strips of foil or you can even buy it premade as a bird deterrent when they twist in the wind or the breeze and reflect the birds don’t like it and won’t come kind of like one and a half inch wide pieces of tinsel hanging on a string.Hope this helps. I have to do this every year when the swallows come and I hang it on the whole perimeter of my house that way I don’t have to do anything mean but they don’t build their little houses and poop all over my stuff either ha ha ha

I have the same chaotic brain! So many projects and ideas, not enough time or energy to complete them, then I’m on to another great idea and the mess builds and I can’t stand it anymore! We’re all part of the same club here, I guess.

Debi you create some amazing things in such a small space. I remember when I lived in a 750 SF apartment I thought it was so small. Now I live in a 3150 SF house and I have no excuse for having my many to do projects. I think projects help us grow and give us something to look forward to for something to do in our future. I have put myself on buying restriction for awhile till I put a big dent in my projects.😂. The plants are looking great.🪴🌹🥀🌺🌷🌸🌻

Debbie, I think most creative people feel the same way. I know I am feeling this because I have collected all these antique pieces to work on and now in just a few short months we are moving into our forever home. I am so overwhelmed that it takes over my creative thinking. But you have inspired me that I can do this. ❤️

    Hi Debi,
We had the same problem with birds. Clothes dryer sheets placed in areas wher they sre will deter them as they don’t like the smell. I’s easy and not dangerous. Good luck

Such a jammed packed video! All I was missing was the smell of the ocean in Hawaii. I can TOTALLY relate to feeling like a split personality when it comes to design. I love clean, midcentury modern and I also love nostalgic, colorful maximalism. My house is more maximalism…. 😜Love how Grandpa said you were always into dumpster finds and then he saves the chair from the dump. I feel like Grandpa and Ginny are on their way to having DIY channels of their own. Ginny’s frames looked so good!

And boy do I ever feel the same wrestling of opposing sides of "peaceful order" verses " chaotic possibilities of things of junk"...at 69 I find a balance difficult still!
I make the creative messes, then hv to clear it all out for a while before I can start again. Also learning to tell myself "no" to grabing broken 'possibilities ' of junk lololololol painful to walk away!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
