Just wanted to say your videos have really inspired me to start up a side job detailing. I really have that passion on seeing the after effect of a job well done
i Know you asked this a year ago, but the clay bar lifts contaminents from the surface of the clear coat. (tar, iron, dirt, etc...) when he showed the clay bar you could see dark spots. those are the 'contaminents' that he's removing. If you don't remove them the paint correction pad will push them around on the clear coat causing more scratching and swirl mark.
I use a different clay bar on the bottom half and top half. I dont want to drag the contamination I pick up from the bottom to the top half of the car, less chance of marring or scratching, same with drying towels. I also use the Iron decon 1st before clay barring. Why drag iron fall out allover if it can be removed 1st? You should invest in a high CFM blower. We know most love marks and swirls come from our washing mitts and drying towel, a high CFM blower will eliminate a lot of physical contact with the paint.
Interested as well what your using with the clay bar. I picked up the meguires one and they use quick detailed for lube. Which I found weird if you want to strip everything off before polish/glaze/wax/ceramic

are clay bars better than liquid wax? or liquid polish?
Clay bars remove imbedded contaminants, wax protects and shines, and polish removes Imperfections

what polisher is that?
Black one is max shine, yellow is dewalt
