My passion for detailing and polishing started with this video 3 years ago. Now i'm at a professional level with both rotary and DA polishing and ceramic coatings.
I've watched a few hundred hours of car-detailing vids at this point and this has been one of the best I've seen yet. The swirl scratches on this panel were absolutely brutal. I can't even imagine what was done to it to reach that state.
Teen driver - ramms into shopping carts at Walmart, rubbing up against other parked cars as well as the curb when they forget to adjust their seat or mirrors, parked under a birds nest right after it ate and expected nothing to happen, lead footed the pedal and backed the quarter panel into a tree ("it'll buff right out".) Forgot to put the parking brake on when they got out, turned left on red while stopped next to a dump truck, parked next to a beat up old family car full of mushy under developed brained children, attempting to race on a tight road and forgets about the sloppy steering, spills gasoline on rear of car when they take the nozzle out, left fuel filler cap dangling out over the side of the car, once the floor was full of moldy greasy French fries, started smushing them into the outside of the car instead, parked on the corner of a salted street right after a snow storm, attempted to fit an excessively large cargo in the trunk and still ramms it up against the vehicle even though it wouldn't fit, gets out of car in a tight space and scratches vehicle with purse of denim jeans.
I own a black Audi A4 (B5) in a harsh environment (hot, dry and dusty) and it always looks a mess. Videos like this inspire me that a higher standard of paint finish with protection is the answer.

That's lovely. I've been detailing for a few years now and must have watched at least 500 videos, it's so refreshing to watch one that is honest, accurate, straightforward and a joy to watch. This is one I will return to before every correction I do just to make sure I stay on track - well done mate 👍👍
You know what they say. You get what you pay for! This level of quality and expertise is worth paying for!! The time and money you spend on DYI, sometimes you don't even brake even. At time it's "BEST" to leave it to the pros!!
Thanks for this video, Im 17 and started my mobile detailing business in January im looking to expand into paint corrections at some point and this was very helpful. Much Appreciated!
Thank you!! I’m very young and just starting in the detailing business but so far I’ve only been able to offer interior detailing because I felt as if I needed to understand paint better, and just didn’t feel comfortable with the other videos I’ve watched. This video has been the best overall by far and it gave me the idea to go to the junkyard and getting some panels to practice on (I don’t know how I didn’t think of this sooner) so I can get some actual experience before trying and possibly ruining my cars paint or worse a customers.
I kept thinking wow, this is perfect, it can’t get any better. And then again and again I was wrong and it got even better every time. A true masterpiece !
It’s 2024 and your video is as relevant today as it was 5 years ago. I appreciate the information, Very well done. I edited my comment to mention , you have a new subscriber! 👍
I find that when someone explains the reasoning, instead of just telling us the answer, is the best teaching method. I love how you explain that there are many levels of compounds to choose from. Good video👍🏻
I’d like to add simply that after all my slow researching over months…this video has simplified so perfectly all that overload of information scrambling around my mind. Rarely have I seen anything as to the point, clear and concise for the newbie like myself. Tremendous Thank you!😊🚗😊

The single best guide to quickly, clearly and comprehensively learning the start to end process of maintaining car paint. Fantastic. 10/10. Thank you so much Sandro!
The 2 bucket method really works. The amount of dirt in the bottom of the rinse bucket is a LOT more than the wash bucket. I was made to feel stupid the other day when commenting on a diydetail video just because they like to promote their own method and say that the 2 bucket method is dead. It was quite disappointing really because I've always been a fan of Yvan lacroix and spoke highly of him. He also said it was odd to use a separate towel for your wheels, I mean why not if I have a old towel spare. Unless you are doing a wheels-off clean there is not way you're getting 100% of the dirt off and I'd rather not contaminate my main towels. Anyway, keep up the good work and stay true. Thanks for the quality video
Exactly yesterday ordered everything for paint correction. Wanted to do it straight on my car but after seeing this video makes me visit my local car workshop & ask for some no need car panel for practicing first!

Great videos, thank you for taking the mistory out of detailing . It's so satisfying to watch a professional tradesman achieve professional results. Especially a straight talking man with no bull , well done and thank you again .
I've watched SO many of these kinds of videos and this one is by far my favorite. At first, I thought this was going to be another product commercial disguised as a how-to video, made to sell as much product as possible. You did use a lot of product, but you clearly explained the purpose of each one, and more importantly, showed the results until you got the right combination. Then you explain why it was the combination and backed it up with clear results. - I don't mind spending money on product as long as I know exactly why I'm buying it and how to use it. Thanks!
I’m going to start my own detailing business and paint correction was the only thing I was unsure on how to do. This video was extremely helpful and resourceful in showing the steps on how it’s done, I will be practising from now on thank you!
I *really* like the pacing of the voice over and the interludes of the music with the demo. Too many UA-camrs just machine-gun you to death with jump-cuts and non-stop monologue.
This has to be a very time consuming process and not for impatient people like myself that would for sure drive me crazy if I tried to do this myself as good as it looks I feel like I wouldn’t get through a car lol great video step by step you can’t go wrong following all these amazing steps and the outcome of it is really mind blowing to see
Just superb. From the work performed on the panel to the video's production. My favorite aspect was your emphasis on technique over product. Thanks for making this!
We all watch videos like this. It’s like we’re downloading the knowledge into our brains so we can gain these skills. I will definitely be polishing some cars thank you.
Sandro I think I’m hooked on car detailing! I completed a 3 stage correction on my BMW and I want to strip everything off and do it again just because! 😄
Ya I use mothers polish and wax, may need to consider this stuff next. I have a problem with fine dust collecting on my car hours later, wonder If this would help to stop that
There are about 60 layers of clear coat to remove before getting to paint layers; polishing another german paint - Porche. 😉 there is a video on youtube of some detailers that tried to see after how many layers removed from polishing will get them to paint... m.ua-cam.com/video/Vyz6P9XeYrw/v-deo.html Just buy a paint thickness gauge and you wil know where you are..
I never knew one could restore paint to that level. If my paint looked like that I would’ve went straight to a paint job but now I see it’s not Necessary
Keep in mind polishing removes layers of the clearcoat in order to make it smooth again. Doing it every so often eventually strips the clearcoat and youd have to go get your car clear coated again. To prevent doing such a harsh cutting compound, you should go in every year or so and keep the paint looking good with only a 1 step polish. The 1 step polish doesnt remove much. So either you let your car look like shit and then pay an arm and leg to get it detailed, but you'll lose a lot of clearcoat, or you can maintain your vehicle and get it polished and buffed yearly to minimize clearcoat loss
@@Viktor9502 Once you do a paint correction I'd hope it gets washed properly and protected properly. Then it should take more than a year to need any polish other than accidents.

I finally understand why my wife told me the car looks dull after aggressive paint correction. I didn't see the dullness because my eyes were used to the dullness as I worked on and stared at those paint panels for hours. It did not occur to me at all to do a fine paint correction as the final step to bring out the shine. This video makes me feel good about getting a professional to do it for me. No way would I ever buy all these products and have the know how to do it myself. $300 bucks well spent 👌🏼
And that's how the paint should leave the detailers shop. Though it is a number of products out there with hidden fillers and stuff, but the most important is how long it stays nice. That is when you see the difference between products with silicone fillings and the real deal. Thank you.
The fact this man isn't selling us on a product but on skill, that's so satisfying!

Thank you. No annoying music. Relaxed approach easy to listen to easy to watch. Enjoyed the experience and learned from it.
Fantastic, I have a new car with very good paint, but I want to buff it up to a higher level of detail. It shouldn't need much correction. Love these tips.
You’re a great teacher. Thank you.

He is comparing non-cleaned and cleaned sides. So there is dust on the left side. He should have at least washed the left side also.
You maybe should have watched till the end before commenting on that 🙂
This video makes me feel good about getting a professional to do it for me. No way would I ever buy all these products and have the know how to do it myself. $300 bucks well spent 👌🏼
Man this video helped me make my 4wd look brand new after a year of solid 4wding and ruing the paint, literally looks brand new again! Thanks dude
Fantastic to hear!!
And that's how the paint should leave the detailers shop. Though it is a number of products out there with hidden fillers and stuff, but the most important is how long it stays nice. That is when you see the difference between products with silicone fillings and the real deal. Thank you.
