Another great video Brain and that’s one very lucky young man to have you as a mentor
I appreciate that!
Using a rotary is a dying art. But nothing really compares to the finish behind it
Teaching him the fundamentals that will stay with him for life. Doing the job right the 1st time. Great video Brian.
He did a great job. You can tell he was nervous the first go around on the horse but he picked it up. The car came out amazing. Great job other Brian
All the kids around my block have asked me to teach them and I always let them have a go with my machines. Where the community centers fail to teach, I pick up the slack and show them the way. All thanks to you prof.
This is really sweet! Those kids are going to be so grateful for you (I’m sure they already are!)
I really hope that kid knows how lucky he is. If he does, then in a decade he’ll be a beast.
I cannot stress how helpful this video has been. I've been avoiding paint correction because it looked like an annoying, extremely time consuming and tedious process, but this gave me the confidence to dive in on an old beater in my drive way, and I'd never thought to ask a body shop for trash panels! I really like how straight forward and pragmatic this channel is compared to a lot of other detail channels. Thank you for making this video!
I can already tell we need this to be a recurring series. Incredible Work as always Mr. Brian and Friend. 👍
Hands on is the best experience, thank you Brian for another great video.
Excellent video Brian, seemed his process changed dramatically with a good hands on approach and a great teacher. Thanks for all your hard work and great content.
I think this was a really good video. The fact that we get to see how it is for a beginner to start out is very educational. It is a fantastic way to understand a bit of the things you encounter when you are new. It will be a nice series to watch your protege take steps forward. It is a way for you to answer some of the questions that comes up.
You are a great teacher!
You are a great teacher brian, that young man is very lucky to have you there teaching him, he did an excellent job for the first time
Now this was a great video Brian, I think this was the greatest so far to teach inexperience people how to use polishers, totally awesome video, thanks for being there for us Brian your a super star👌
Great video man. Love how thorough, detailed and patient you are. Great stuff man!
I'm relatively new to the channel, about 4 months now, and I'll tell ya, you're giving me the necessary confidence to correct my car. I'm in the Facebook group as well and have so many questions to ask. Thank you for all these videos.
Excellent video Here!!!! He's lucky he has the legendary Brian for 1 on 1!! I'm jealous 😁 he did a great job👌👍
Good job on educating a fine young man!!! Always love teaching the younger generation who is willing to learn
I love your videos ... very informative ... you answer (or give great advice on) a lot of the questions some are afraid to speak on ... I detail (not professionally ... yet) and had questions about certain ideas or issues and you shine light on and knock them out the box. Please continue doing the great job that you are doing. I personally want to THANK YOU for the tidbits of knowledge. I say "tidbits" because anyone that is into detailing, have "some" knowledge and you come along and fill in most all of the blanks.
Teaching with such patience and open heartedness is not a trait that everybody has, especially myself.
Thank you for you most educational videos.

There isn't many things in life more rewarding than teaching a skill such as this and he will carry that long after we've stopped. He's done something I haven't and that's used a rotary polisher. It sure seemed like he did a great job!
That was great! What an excellent experience for him to be able to learn from the best! Please share more content like this👍👍👍
We need more videos like this! Actually shoeing beginners going through the different situations
Started with a rotary ìn the mid 80s still use it today. I have seen many of paint jobs ruined also. Glad to see you teaching him the correct way 👍 👍
Great job! Making the best of what you have is a worthwhile goal.
Great work Brian. Need to be seeing more of this. Thanks for the video
Fortunate guy to have such a tutor.
Semi retired now, but used to rotary polish Prestige cars in Australia back in the 80s and 90s will always love the rotary, we also used to dry buff using a new pad and corn flour for amazing finishing results, the new fellow has a good teacher. Cheers Brian
That was awesome did a great job and Brian on your part great as usual.
Always the knowledge shared is priceless. Thank you
Excellent work and the turn around is dramatic. The kid did great and he is developing a skill for life. I remember my first time I burnt through plastic using an 8mm da.
Great video. I’ve only used the DA but this video has given me the impetus to try a rotary. Am going to pick up a test panel at a local body shop to practice first though. Thank you Brian.
Nice job for a first timer lots more knowledge to come
You're a great teacher!
Young Brian did an awesome job!
Well done💪❤💪
Great teacher and great student! Thanks for teaching us!
Great job kid! Enjoy learning from the best. That’s how I learned but only virtual. Absorb Everything you can!
Brian, you have being a great teacher for more than you think, myself first !!! I learn a lot from you and now I able to make a shiny cars !! This weekend I do a black Tesla model 3 with a tiny clear coat, I really have to be carefull with it.
Brian, Great video as always. He did a great job!
Amazing video mate. Would love to see more videos like this teaching other detailing skills
Thanks for making this, it helps to understand the learning process so much :)
He did a great job because he had a great teacher. Thanks for the awesome informational video
Great job Rookie! Love that gloss!
Awesome hands on training, and a very fast learner too.
Use the Force young Jedi! Outstanding Brian!
Awesome !! Great introduction to the Beast! ;-)- for a second i was afraid the rotary would catch his shirt! [been there myself lol!] Priceless teaching of a wonderful, smooth , versatile tool! This video will help many! You're the Best
I learned something new also and I've been doing it a while. I like how he applied the compound on the panel with a pad instead of with the machine. I'm gonna try that .
I’ve watched this video at least 3 times and it’s such an impressive feature that this young Brian come into his own. The teacher I know is proud of this young JEDI👀🤗🤗🤗🤗🫡
Brian you are an awesome teacher, he did a great job 👍😁
Fantastic tutorial Brian 👍, your student looked to be enjoying himself too .
looks absolutely great!!
Awesome information and the way he teaches the new recruit.
Another beautiful job. The best way to learn is to mess up once you will never do it again. And he did a great job for his first time. It just gets easier from here
A very lucky young man to have you as his instructor!
Acceptance of the fact that it can't be made perfect in order to preserve the clearcoat's properties is something I would never have known or realized. Thanks.
Love this video I use detail cars when I was 14 years old all they used was these old school buffers to me that's the best 👌
Wow , this should be taught at schools as car maintenance 101. Fabulous job Professor. 👍🙂
Tq for sharing , from Malaysia , always loves watching ur channel , keep it up 👍🏻
Excellent video and you are a great teacher ✊
I appreciate that!
Excellent tutorial!
Very knowledgable mentor. I learned this the hard way. I remember how i ate the paint when i was doing an edge. 😂
Great video. Nice to have a rotary you can control the speed
I just want to add, as someone who has only hand polished i have no idea what is it like to actually learn to cut/polish with a machine, this video humbled me LOL … now I totally understand why Brain always recommends buying a test panel before you put a rotary/DA to your car. He makes it look so easy that it made me feel like it would be a piece of cake. Thanks for the content Brian, I honestly love how much I’m able to learn from you, I love your channel, your transparency, your straight forward nature, that I never have to wonder if you are trying to sell a product & that everything you share comes from real world experience. This channel has become my favorite detailing channel on UA-cam & after years of watching is really the only detailing channel I watch. Thank you Brian, you’re the best!
I truly appreciate the kind words. Happy to help.
Brian awesome tutorial great job looks awesome its great for new comers and mobile detailers that do this on a daily base as always be safe God bless William from extreme optimum auto detailing pr
Good stuff, I'll be getting my first DA within the month and working on 3 cars, correcting and ceramic coating all 3, I think I'll see if I can snag an old panel first though! Thanks!
Nice job! Your a fantastic teacher! He’s a lucky man! 👍
Thank you kindly!
@@apexdetail85 Brian, you do fantastic work! I really need to find time to set up something with you!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, and most of all sharing it with the new guys coming up! We both know, what we do for a living is about passion! I have been doing what I do for 40 years! I don’t go to work in the morning, I go out and play and get paid for it! Be well and Best Regards! 👍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍
Great content, keep it up.
He did a great job. Hope he’s still at it
Way to go teaching Brian right, Brian! 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome vid 👌
here before the title changes 😄
On the ball!!
This is so much help !!! 🤝🏻💯👌
Well done young man.
Awesome video and tutorial good friend. Kid did a great job. B well good friend
Awesome! Great video!
11:00 I love what you did here! I use this technique to teach my young ones. Show them how to do something, but also show them how to do it wrong!
When I was teaching my boy to drive, I made him purposely do mistakes and also do things like accelerating hard from a dead stop and also slamming the brakes to a complete dead stop. Just so he can feel and know what the vehicle is capable of and how it can be dangerous if done improperly. I didn’t want to strike fear in him, but I wanted him to know how and why a vehicle can lose control just from simply acceleration and braking. We did other things as well, but this post is long enough and gets my point across 😅
Love this!
Great video!!
Awesome videos, I'm learning a lot thank you. What backing pad do you use on the Rotary in this video, or do you recommend another one.
excellent tuition
Amazing teacher
Thanks Brian again
Great information .
I'm very proud of Brian number three. Worked the rotory like a champ.
Go team Apex!
Wax on wax off. Awesome great job 👏🏽
Great job
Great video
Your a awesome coach brain ..👍
Thanks for sharing. I have recently acquired a '04 PT Cruiser GT that was sitting abandoned in the Florida sun. It was very dirty (from rain I presume), so I washed and clay barred it. The paint is now smooth but still has what appears to be pitting in the clear coat. I tried doing some oxidation removal with my 20 year old cheap Craftsman orbital buffing machine and the first of the three steps of Meguiar's clean-polish-wax package, but it had little impact after making 3 passes with just the cleaning solution.
From the limited results, I presume the cleaning chemical has lost its efficacy and/or is probably is not harsh enough to begin with. Thus, I've acquired some "Diamond Cut" grade cutting compound and bought a cheap rotary machine from Harbor Freight. Given my power upgrade, I guess I'm wondering at which point I should stop as I'm trying to clean up the clear coat pitting and how to tell if the damage to the clear coat is not repairable or into the base paint. I am prepared to resort to wet sanding and repainting/coating if need be, but I honestly cringe thinking that I might have to resort to more drastic measures, especially if the job doesn't warrant it. Any advice?
He did a really good job. You always go through all the steps and explain things, to where someone can understand what and why they need to do things correctly.
I think he did a great job!
One very lucky young man, to be taught by a master detailer in Brian.
How many low lint cutting pads, did you use on the car Brian?
Brian! As a teacher! For this young man! Unless he's been practicing? He couldn't imagine a better Teacher than You! I got a Big smile on my face! That Car looks Beautiful! As just a little reminder. Tell him to get a really nice pair of Sunglasses!😉
Wish I had a shop that would take me in as a apprentice to learn this skill I’m a week end hobby guy. I try to keep my vehicles looking good. Recently purchased a Tahoe I couldn’t turn down but the black paint has swirls and baby scratches.
Great video nice to watch someone learning I learned alot
Great job where does it come in to play with the harder soft clearcoat and how did you make the decision on what cream and pad to use
Brian great job each one teach one im a detailer 3 years now and im getting bigger jobs to do like i have a new customer cadillac truck it fade on the hood and there are scratches on the bumper area i would like if you would give me advice on how to do it.
Hi Brian and thank you for the video! 👍
One question. You always say your speed setting is between the 3rd and 4th speed... But how many rpm's is this? As we all know it differs from polisher to polisher. On the Flex PE 14-2 150 it will be around 1200 - 1500rpm, on the Maxshine it will be much higher...
so whats your recommendation on the exact speed in rpm's?
My daughter and I follow your channel and used your advice on her 2005 equinox that was in bad shape. (Black Equinox) and it was our first time doing a paint correction and I must say it turned out GREAT! A bit of a hit in the wallet at first but it was worth it.
Had 3 estimates 2 from auto paint just to clear coat and 1from a detail shop . Clear coat was $2200 cheapest and detail shop wanted $1100 to fix it. FARTHER/DAUGHTER TIME PRICELESS!
Thank you.
If you have a chance can you answer a question or 2?
1- the black is easy to scratch or scuff . Is there something that I can do to make it not so easy? Wax,coating etc..
2- the what looks like a sand blasting cabinet, what are you using for your media to clean your pads?
Hey Brian how much are your training sessions? And how long are they? I’m all the way down in Louisiana but would love the chance to learn from such a knowledgeable guy! I’m a detailer of 8 years and have been doing corrections for roughly a year now. Still a ton to learn
beautiful
nice job!
It's sink or swim. I picked up some pointers. Thanks Bri. I'm sure he was a bit nervous.
