Michaels Kramer character is the funniest character in the history of television and probably also of movies. his facial expressions, his physical body comedy, his delivery of lines, his voice plus the written material add up to make his character the funniest ever. The first time I saw Michael Richard speak out of character, I found it hard to believe. I thought his real personality had to be kind of close to Kramer.

Not a prejudiced or racist bone in his body. You can see the difference between Carroll and Archie Bunker and appreciate his acting ability. Same with Michael Richards. Michael nails the Kramer character and he himself is not at all like the character we see on the screen.

Welcome back Michael. Next time don't stay away so long.
I first remember him in Young Doctors In Love that starred Dabney Coleman. He played a bumbling Mafia hit man named Malamud that was pure physical comedy gold Jerry.
I read that after one of his auditions when he left the room Brandon Tartikoff broke the silence with "Well if you like funny,™
In the first year of Seinfeld he played Kramer as a little slow and dim witted. When he came back for the next season he had decided on his own to play him as the Kramer everyone fell for.
Jerry Stiller told a story that when they did the Festivus episode there was a scene where Frank and Kramer enter Monk's together and while they were waiting off camera with the traditional aluminum pole Michael suggested to Stiller that he drag the pole across the floor. He said it would be funnier that way and it was.
Even though he got cancelled for his ill-advised stand up mistake, everyone of importance from the show stood behind him 100%.
One of the consistently stellar characters in television history. Good to see him back.

Anyone saying Michael Richards is deflated obviously has never seen interviews with him.....and I mean going back to the early 90s. This is probably the most relaxed and animated I've ever seen him! On talk shows and interviews, the guy was always like a deer caught in the headlights, soft spoken, never zany, never funny, it's not like interviewing L.D., Jason A., JLD, Wayne Knight, etc. This guy does not crack a joke, he's completely passive. NBC quickly stopped sending him out to the talk shows because he was so reticent and frankly boring. Which only made his performances that much more impressive! Go look him up on his one appearance on Howard Stern, which is excruciating to get through! Go listen to the audio commentary on the DVDs. It's always Jason, Julia and Michael. And Jason and Julia are laughing it up, and Richards is dead serious. By the third or fourth season, he's no longer on the commentaries, just Julia and Jason!

Michael was never really cut out to be a stand-up, he's much more of a comedic actor-and a great one at that. He has an intensity about his craft that you can see prior to that set in 2006... he would rehearse with low energy and say he was "saving it" for the audience, and when his fellow castmates would mess up during the actual performances he would get upset. He still kept professional, but you could see a building frustration and anger at Julia cracking up or someone else messing up their lines. His saving up a performance was for nothing, and that "special moment" was gone now.
Now, removed from the studio, he was trying to get back in some form of comedy and started doing more of something he had been doing prior to Seinfeld: stand-up. He approached it with the same intensity he had always had with anything he considered his craft, and with that intensity came the same frustration and anger when he was interrupted or when someone stopped his performance. This time, he wasn't with castmates, comedians are supposed to handle hecklers, and at a time where comedians were being pretty edgy Michael chose to go in a direction he wasn't known for and wasn't all that practiced with to handle that night's hecklers. Instead of seeming like an edgy comedian that skirted a line he seemed like an angry racist finally getting a chance to lash out-but really he was neither, he's just a sensitive and intense craftsman who was responding to being made upset. It wasn't pretty, it deserved criticism, but it definitely didn't deserve extinguishing a man, especially one so gifted and great.

Like if they went to your high school they would be superstars I guess 😂😂😂
