By watching this video, I realized that the only one of the four actually playing a character is Michael Richards. Everyone else is just being themselves with a script. It looks like the script is very much written around who they were in real life except for Michael, who was a completely different person than the real life Kramer. So as they say early on in this video, they all gave Michael space to get into character before his scenes, because as actors themselves knew that he had to change his persona the most. They also say that Kramer was the character that changed the most through the seasons. If they had done the same with all four, the show would probably not be such a success as it was. They kind of made it easy for themselves by keeping the three characters very close to reality.
@@eltoro969 jason alexander is nothing like george in real life. george is a neurotic liar scared of commitment and bitter about the world. jason is a successful actor in tv and theater. he is happily married, has several kids, and is by all appearances much more confident and friendly than his character. julia is also happily married, has children, is a successful actor, and much more outgoing and less bitter than elaine. the only one who is close to his character is jerry. they said michael’s character changed so much because he used to play dumb, then switched to playing smart, and everyone else was dumb. it wasn’t because they said michael portrayed his character differently than his own personality.
My favourite moment was the totally sincere compliment Jason Alexander pays Michael Richards towards the end of this programme. He's so totally right. There is only one physical comedian and comparisons are futile. Kramer was an entire orchestra. Everyone agrees by this point this always will be the greatest TV comedy ever made. I've watched just about every bloopers reel and documentary of the show and still keep hoping more new footage will be released some day. Thank you for making this show, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David. Everything you got post this show, you deserved.
I don't need to declare this the best sitcom, ever, to enjoy it fully. I can try to do that with songs and they'll keep getting jostled around as I listen to others, slotting into sub-genres.
Gotta love what utterly different people they are from their characters. Jerry and Larry just play themselves, Julia's exaggerating, but maaan, Jason never plays a guy who isn't a huge jerk, and Michael never plays anything small and subdued.
You’ve got to be careful because you’ll end up talking like the show! I saw an advert for gym clothes that were ‘sweat wicking’ yesterday and I was like ‘who wicks? I don’t need wicking, nobody wicks, just sweat!’. I need to watch Mad About You or something….
I'm currently re-watching the series on Netflix and I have to say... it is one of the best sitcoms ever made. I am happy to connect with each character and the fact that they did their best to incorporate all 4 of them as much as they could is quite apparent, and much appreciated. The team (cast, producers, writers, etc) deserve all the accolades and awards they've received. Kudos to all.
That Kramer scene drinking and smoking got me into tears after laughing louder than the first time I've seen that. I had to rewind and watch it over and over and laugh every time!
Michael Richards is a fantastic actor....I always thought he was playing himself when Kramer was on set...but his demeanor here is sophisticated and laid back. Amazing!
So glad I just happened on this tonight. 1 hour of smiles and LOLs. I loved the Seinfeld finale and love that Larry is openly contemptuous about the negative reviews. Good for him!
This is the truth: There could be Seinfeld without Kramer There could be Seinfeld without Elaine But there could be no Seinfeld without George. Curb proves this.
Agreed! Dunno how they ever got an episode in the can with her around....lol. loved the bloopers when shakes all over trying to reset...and then seconds later....busts up laughing. Michael doesn't even do anything!!! That's just people laughing and loving each other! An example of the best...of human beings....IMHO!
Thank you, guys, for the show-this and those nine years of laughter. Julia, I once stood next to you as you saved the life of a sixteen-year-old girl who had previously overdosed because she had just found out that her mother died back in the East Bay; that girl was from that area. As I said to you, "I met her in Berkeley, and she just lost her mother to a drug overdose." This was in front of the Metro 4 theaters, on State Street, in Santa Barbara, California. You, your husband, and two kids were going to see a movie there on that smoky fall night. You saved her life. And I just wanted to give up this information because I watched you take charge quickly and act like you were a paramedic yourself. And then, once you realized she was going to be okay, you dusted that off and walked into the theater with your family, like you were Kramer to tell that story about how calm he was taking the "pinky-toe" to the hospital and how that bus ride prior to that story included. You merely sloughed it off like just another thing you did daily; thank you for that.
@@brent81756, no dude, I actually witnessed it with my own two eyeballs and both ears. It was cool as hell. I didn't know what to do! And neither did most of us watching! And that's when Julia marched in and took over. It was amazing. And like I wrote above, once everything was handled, she walked away with her family like it was NOTHING. Hollywood celebrities get a lot of crap, and some of it for good reason, but Julia, at least on that night, was a very good human being.
The greatest sitcom character of all time. George Costanza. And it was due to the genius of Jason Alexander. A character that has gone down as legendary in the history of television.
Frank (George`s dad) Elaine Kramer George Newman Jerry --- They all are so good it`s maybe pointless ranking them but for some reason, Elaine is the character I believe in the most and always have. She was on target from get go. The other characters needed more development through season 1-2 to become what we all love them for. Elaine was that person from the start.
Mine too. In the early years he was the most complete, complex and well-acted. He became a little too much of a cartoon by the end, but still hilarious.
I liked Kramer's physical comedy and how he always had the craziest ideas. However loved George and the way he was so petty and lazy, and the acting of it.
One of my favorites was when it was thought that George had died. Steinbrenner comes to Frank and Estelle's house to offer condolences. Frank starts yelling at Steinbrenner for trading Jay Bruner. He cites his stats and then yells, "you don't know what you are doing" So funny.
These days youngins are so caring and compassionate towards everyone theyd call this discrimination, no one can say anything like this anymore, not as an individual anyway but as a group they are ruthless little people caring and compassion turns to rage.
Kramer would also be the only person to not see that he’s being treated special because they thought he was mentally challenged. Kramer thought the whole time that everybody is just being nice to him 😅😅
I always felt like they missed an easy home run on the series finale by not making it a redux of Wizard of Oz for a 90-min show. Kramer is the prototype Scarecrow, as is George for the Cowardly Lion. Elaine is a brunette with long curly hair like Dorothy and the irony of her hating dogs would have jokes galore with Dorothy & Toto. Newman as the Wizard, a lot of prior characters could fill the roles of Glenda and the Wicked Witch. With so many other characters made famous that appeared in the actual finale filling in the dozens of roles Wizard of Oz would create. I always wished I could have been older than 20 when the show ended so that I could have flown to NYC and begged Larry David for 5 minutes bc I have had that in my head since halfway thru the show’s original airing run, as WoOz was my favorite film growing up.
Well was this before or after his N word shout attack ? That episode of real life cosmo Kramer was sadly in character lol was this really after that? Makes sense if he's quiet, he's lucky they would even let him up on stage
I can't believe Julia apologized so much for laughing. She had a contagious laugh and just couldn't help from bursting out laughing. It was one of my favorite parts of the show.
She was unprofessional and out of control killing comedic timing. And having to do takes over and over again. The other guys were doing all they could to stay in character, Richards being the hardest one, and she killed the momentum. She brought nothing to the show except laugh in every episode. Worst character by far. Family guy did a great spoof on how unfunny she was.
It would get annoying by the third or fourth take, especially if it happens every day and you have a lot of scenes to finish. Also, film was expensive in the nineties.
Eugene Levy was talking on Smartless about the effort he went to not to laugh when the camera was rolling. The first run of a comedic scene sometimes captures a spontaneity and authenticity that never comes again. Levy didn't want to ruin irreplaceable moments. It's okay once in a while, sure, but it's bad practice as a rule.
@@echoechoecho7142That's just bull. Her character was essential to the show and she nailed it. It's impossible to picture the show without all the main characters. There were no weak spots.

...and we have passed on the greatest gift we could to our kids. Introducing them to Seinfeld.....They love the show so much it is on our tv like 6 hrs a day. They even drop the one liners constantly. I'd give anything to meet them in person. We've seen Jerry and Jason live on stage and we never got the chance for them to sign their books that we have. This would have been the greatest gift I could only wish for. They were all geniuses within their respective roles. 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♀️🙇🙇🙇🙇. Thank you for bringing so much laughter and happiness to our lives.
I keep watching this show even though I have memorized almost every line. And I still laugh every time even knowing what's coming. It's the same for me with Fawlty Towers. Truly the hallmark of a genius comedy.
At a friend’s Dads funeral I signed the book “HE Pennypacker”. The next day his sister is looking through it and says “Who is this?!” and my buddy burst out laughing. Now when he needs to refer to me to his sister he says, “You know, HE Pennypacker.” 😂
No loss of chemistry. Every time I watch a show, I see something different. And Jason was correct, Michael Richards was genius. No one else could do what he created. Unique and hilarious. But, honestly, no one else could do George as well as Jason! Fabulous show, Seinfeld is my go to binge if I want to laugh, every time.
I feel so bad for Michael. He made a mistake at the Laugh Factory but it cost him so much more than it should have. He's such a vulnerable genuine guy and you can see that in his TV apology, but no one could separate him from comedy.
@@Bikewithlove fair point. And... Considering that he was trying to be edgy....while being I'm sure pissed. It's rude as hell to heckle someone. Somehow I've never seen this before. One of my all-time favorite shows. I saw Jerry do a stand-up special on cable back in 1987 or 1988, and when the show came on the air I started watching right off the bat. One thing you don't really notice when you're watching a show from the start is the development of the characters. It happens over time, kind of like watching a kid slowly change over the years. Two things I really noticed once I started watching reruns years later. George changed a lot from the first episodes - early on he almost seemed to be doing a Woody Allen thing, and his wardrobe was quite different. It didn't take long for the exaggerated 'Woody' thing to go away and his wardrobe to change, but the character never really changed a whole lot. It was more just the appearance and voice that changed, with a little bit of additional 'anger' thrown in. With Kramer the thansformation was huge. He became a completely different character by the third season or so. I remember seeing Michael Richards in Weird Al's 'UHF', and Kramer seemed to start off somewhat similar to that character, though not quite as exaggerated. But Kramer became someone else completely after a while. Not only did he develop a different persona, he looked different. Michael RIchards created one of the best sitcom characters ever. Everyone on the show was fantastic - the main cast, the 'part-time' characters, the one-time appearances - great casting, great acting, great writing. This was a lot of fun to watch. Thanks Jerry, Larry, Jason, Julia, Michael, Jerry and Estelle, Wayne, and everyone else involved in 'Seinfeld'. It will live on for years to come. You've given me a lot of laughs over the last 35 years! Geez, I wasn't even 30 when the show first aired. Yikes.
OMG SOOOOO many happy memories from this crew!! SO grateful to the Cast, Larry, Jerry and all the writers! Soooo clever. And so many memories that a lot of us could relate to our own lives. Plus some random shit we could never imagine till we saw it play out in front of our eyes!!! lol. A gamechanger in the Sit Com scene!! BIG
Michael Richards acting in Seinfeld is a masterpiece. No one could do it like he did. All cast members were extraordinary, but Michael Richard was on his own level. More you watch it, you realize all the details in his acts.
True. Although I think Elaine is the funniest, Michael Richards had to really ACT that character unlike the other three who basically just were themselves on set with a script.

Just found this on UA-cam. It was great to see everyone enjoying the clips as much as we fans. This is my favorite comedy show and so many moments are spot on as real yet funny in life. Just last week for example, I had my dog at the vet and the vet said he had just examined a squirrel. The episode where George hits a squirrel and takes it to the vet. They have to use little tiny instruments. Hilarious. What a great show Seinfeld is.
Being a Michael Richard's fan for a long time, seeing he was on Seinfeld is the reason I began even watching Seinfeld. Love all the characters on the show.
I would rank Golden Girls, Cheers, South Park, The Office (English) and The Simpsons above Seinfeld. mostly because of the writers. (I know The Office is very much an improv.) Although the Seinfeld episodes are funny as hell, it`s the characters playing off each other that makes it funny, rather than the script (lines) itself. That`s also the secret to why millions are still watching the episodes on Netflix today. We relate to the characters and fell in love with them because of the realness. The stories are often cut short with stupid endings that made no sense, almost like some bad high school sketch where someone dies in the end to finish the damn sketch on a high note. And that`s also probably what made Seinfeld stand out from Cheers, Friends, Fresh Prince etc.. Many of the things that happened on Seinfeld could have happened in real life. I love Seinfeld and watches the episodes on a weekly basis but if you strip down the work they did in the writing (and Jerry`s horrible acting) it`s clear it`s all character driven and not so much the writing.
@@eltoro969 I disagree. Seinfeld is exceptionally well-written. The intertwining narratives were brilliant. And the dialog was excellent too; between 1990-2005 or so, everyone knew catchphrases like "not that there's anything wrong with that," "no soup for you!", and so on.
I remember Michael on Friday’s. He did a skit where he walked into a store shopping for jeans. He went into a dressing room and closed the door and a few minutes later somehow the door opened and he was upside down, legs in the air, trying to get the jeans on. It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I was so excited later, when I heard he was on Seinfeld.

I've watched just about every bloopers reel and documentary of the show and still keep hoping more new footage will be released some day. Thank you for making this show, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David. Everything you got post this show, you deserved.
Yes, and it was very nice to see and hear how greatful Michael was for Jason's kind words.❤️
I liked the George character way more than Kramer.
Both were essential to making it work; but for me Jason Alexander really made that show. 🏆
I've got Seinfeld on an endless cycle via Netflix. NEVER gets old. My 6yr old daughter knows EVERYONE. Asks me....daddy, can we watch Jerry? Love it
You’ve got to be careful because you’ll end up talking like the show! I saw an advert for gym clothes that were ‘sweat wicking’ yesterday and I was like ‘who wicks? I don’t need wicking, nobody wicks, just sweat!’. I need to watch Mad About You or something….
"the hell does that mean" is probably one if not the best blooper ever kept safe. I have no ideia how She could do that scene after that. legend.
Amazing!
There will NEVER, EVER be another show like this.

@@zaidamarin8551 are you serious??
Seinfeld was great, I feel like Curb Your Enthusiasm is Seinfeld on Steroids.
This content is GOLD, Jerry! GOLD!
So glad I just happened on this tonight. 1 hour of smiles and LOLs. I loved the Seinfeld finale and love that Larry is openly contemptuous about the negative reviews. Good for him!
That electrical socket scene was so amazing
Every scene Jason is in is gold. He played George almost too well 🤣
@@Kigoz4Life You can actually say that about most of the cast members.
This is the truth:
There could be Seinfeld without Kramer
There could be Seinfeld without Elaine
But there could be no Seinfeld without George.
Curb proves this.
The 'George' character was actually based on Larry David, himself.
Gold Jerry Gold!!!
when Julia cracks up during the takes it's just the greatest
Yes it Looks like just pure Jubilation! LOL.
She was a genuine fan of the show as well as a star.
Yeah, she has the sexiest toes
Agreed! Dunno how they ever got an episode in the can with her around....lol. loved the bloopers when shakes all over trying to reset...and then seconds later....busts up laughing. Michael doesn't even do anything!!! That's just people laughing and loving each other! An example of the best...of human beings....IMHO!
I don’t know, but maybe we could’ve had another season if she hadn’t wasted so many takes.😂
Was this an ai generated story?
@@brent81756, no dude, I actually witnessed it with my own two eyeballs and both ears.
It was cool as hell. I didn't know what to do! And neither did most of us watching!
And that's when Julia marched in and took over. It was amazing. And like I wrote above, once everything was handled, she walked away with her family like it was NOTHING.
Hollywood celebrities get a lot of crap, and some of it for good reason, but Julia, at least on that night, was a very good human being.
Glad I found this. The greatest US TV show ever. The greatest ensemble cast ever. The funniest show ever. Case closed; no debate. Great memories
@rob-er5gi IYHO, that is.
Great show of course but there’s a lot of other greats
With or without an Emmy, Jason was epic in this show. Definitely my favourite character.
The greatest sitcom character of all time. George Costanza. And it was due to the genius of Jason Alexander. A character that has gone down as legendary in the history of television.
Frank (George`s dad)
Elaine
Kramer
George
Newman
Jerry
--- They all are so good it`s maybe pointless ranking them but for some reason, Elaine is the character I believe in the most and always have.
Seinfeld is one of my comfort shows
Definitely
Everyday I watch. Sometimes hours
If you're open to it, I really recommend Frasier as well
My number 1
One of my favorites was when it was thought that George had died. Steinbrenner comes to Frank and Estelle's house to offer condolences. Frank starts yelling at Steinbrenner for trading Jay Bruner. He cites his stats and then yells, "you don't know what you are doing" So funny.
What was missing from this was Elaine’s dance moves!😂😂
Stelllaaaaaaaaa!
It can only be described as a full body dry heave.
Did a whole episode where Kramer was mistaken for mentally challenged and it was genuinely hilarious and not offensive. That is remarkable.
After he'd had dental work, right?
These days youngins are so caring and compassionate towards everyone theyd call this discrimination, no one can say anything like this anymore, not as an individual anyway but as a group they are ruthless little people caring and compassion turns to rage.
Kramer would also be the only person to not see that he’s being treated special because they thought he was mentally challenged. Kramer thought the whole time that everybody is just being nice to him 😅😅
Michael is a true professional through and through. incredible sense of comedy but incredible method as well.
Yes. He almost never missed a line and was usually upset when the other folks did
Weellll
A true professional racist.
@@FunkyDisco79lol nice bait
Michael Richards and Jason Alexander are absolute legends
Jerry is my favorite tho because of all the times he broke character n laughed lol

He is a comic genius but he was way too self-serious
He got humbled by his stand-up faux pas
Well was this before or after his N word shout attack ? That episode of real life cosmo Kramer was sadly in character lol was this really after that? Makes sense if he's quiet, he's lucky they would even let him up on stage
@@JimmyJamJack Not sure what you're talking about he is the greatest of all time
"I'm out!," is my single favorite line I've ever heard on television. It's funny, and was absolutely perfectly delivered in every sense.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....
Oh man, I agree! Jerry Stiller was a comedic genius! I effin' loved Georges' dad. He nailed the character, or rather, he defined it!
Favorite show of all time! STILL!
Jerry Stiller was the only reason why I watched king of Queens
@@echoechoecho7142I thought she was very funny on the show. And she is hilarious in the bloopers.
@@echoechoecho7142That's just bull. Her character was essential to the show and she nailed it. It's impossible to picture the show without all the main characters. There were no weak spots.
What a great show and cast. Plus all the extra characters were perfectly cast as well. A legend of a show.
I have watched the blooper reels several times and always crack up laughing with the cast members. Ten times in, they’re still hysterical!
The bubble boy was epic
Man, this is such an elixir for a bad mood. Thanks!
To come across this is truly a blessing. Thank you.
Is incredible how amazing casting was on this show. They fit together so great
Randomly found this even though it was my most favourite show of all time!! This is GOLD JERRY, GOLD I TELL YOU!
I didn’t get people not liking the finale. I thought it was brilliant!!! They found a crazy law to bring back all of those outstanding characters.
The old lady with the marble rye lol
The fact that Larry David talk’s in real life just like he does on curb kills me. it’s amazing blurs the lines between the man and the character
Except he has a very different behavior, if not personality.
That`s also the case in Seinfeld. Everyone was basically themselves except for Michael Richards.
@@eltoro969Don't tell Jason Alexander that he behaves like George in real life.
The chemistry between this group and any other actor they brought in to play into the whole "Seinfeld" spiel was pure magic. Loved the show.. pure comedy.👍
Love how Larry finished the finally on Curb last week. With Jerry and the mistrial... Larry says "That's how we should have ended Seinfeld" CLASSIC!
I watched it a month ago and it was so good. Loved how they tied in the Seinfeld finale
I can't believe how funny this sitcom was. So many great moments growing up. And now working as an adult, i spend my breaks watching so many clips from seinfeld, it still makes me laugh
I've been watching this show since day 1, it's 2024, I still watch and it's just as funny. The absolute best comedic show that was ever on televison, I miss them so much.
I hope they realize that the morning after every show, for the first few years, the first thing you talked about when you got to the office in the morning, Did you see Sienfeld last nite! Then on you went into a multi person play by play and laughed all over again. God bless the whole bunch of em.
...and we have passed on the greatest gift we could to our kids. Introducing them to Seinfeld.....They love the show so much it is on our tv like 6 hrs a day. They even drop the one liners constantly. I'd give anything to meet them in person. We've seen Jerry and Jason live on stage and we never got the chance for them to sign their books that we have. I keep watching this show even though I have memorized almost every line. And I still laugh every time even knowing what's coming. It's the same for me with Fawlty Towers. Truly the hallmark of a genius comedy.
Fawlty Twats .....classic.
Michael is such a genuine, wise, kind and deep human being.
U.H.F., all I have to say about his talent..... he's so frkn funny
Chinese Restaurant is a perfect example of doing something with nothing. Definitely a memorable episode.
All that is said… is true… but the genius of having all that happened in REAL TIME… waiting for a table for 20+ minutes is totally relatable!
George was the show, so underrated 😂😂
One of the greatest TV shows ever. The chemistry was amazing ❤
I feel so bad for Michael. He made a mistake at the Laugh Factory but it cost him so much more than it should have. He's such a vulnerable genuine guy and you can see that in his TV apology, but no one could separate him from comedy.
The punishment far out weighed the crime.... because as Jerry once said...."People...they are the worst!" Truer words have never been spoken! 😜
I give a lot of leniency to anyone who reacts to provocation. Michael was provoked.
He had to suffer with all those millions of dollars, at home, alone, no friends, no one to love him.😢
@@Bikewithlove fair point. And... Considering that he was trying to be edgy....while being I'm sure pissed. It's rude as hell to heckle someone. @@chrisfroelich-k3w When he slammed the door in Kramer's face
Yikes.
My kids always scream, "YOU THINK YOU CAN KEEP ME OUTTA DEL BOCA VISTA?!!"
BIG
What I love about this is when you think there's a gag coming and it turns into serious conversation.
I don't know why, but this made my tear up while laughing. Thank you for the wonderful moments!
39:50 awesome how larry still genuinely gets a kick out of doing the steinbrenner voice :D
Elaine trapped in the crowded subway is my favorite scene of hers.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!!!!!
It’s so beautiful seeing Michael laugh at the scene where he smacks his face on the box,Michael deserves much redemption
The bloopers are funnier than sitcoms on tv today!
They brought back memories of that great, unrepeatable series
Michael Richards acting in Seinfeld is a masterpiece. No one could do it like he did. All cast members were extraordinary, but Michael Richard was on his own level. More you watch it, you realize all the details in his acts.
It's too bad he's an absolute invisible bore in any other setting, like this roundtable
True. Although I think Elaine is the funniest, Michael Richards had to really ACT that character unlike the other three who basically just were themselves on set with a script.
@@NewYork81983 I thought he was compelling to listen to here, full of insight, and he was certainly not an invisible bore in UHF, one of the cult films of my youth.

Greatest sitcom, ever! Also, one of the best tv shows, ever!!!
This show is THE greatest comedy ever
Maybe one of FIVE greatest shows, no better. You have overlooked other legendary shows with naive 90s agenda.
I would rank Golden Girls, Cheers, South Park, The Office (English) and The Simpsons above Seinfeld. mostly because of the writers. (I know The Office is very much an improv.)
Although the Seinfeld episodes are funny as hell, it`s the characters playing off each other that makes it funny, rather than the script (lines) itself.
It was until It's Always Sunny.
47:58 The funniest outtake of all time. I've seen it 50 times and I still laugh myself to tears every time I see it.
Nothing makes me laugh more than the Seinfeld show. Thank you for sharing with us.
