Last time, I modified the general-purpose lathe (The First Tool) to be CNC, but when I tried to process shaft of iron, I found that it was not strong enough, so I decided to upgrade it.

The recommended shopping site is Aliexpress.
Because it's anyway cheap and sells minor items that other shopping sites don't have. Below are my recommended products

Disadvantages may be quality problems depending on the item.
I don't buy Drills ,Taps and Bearing.

Ideally you don’t wanna be any more than five times the diameter of your piece from the face your chuck when doing a cut. The higher RPM a big difference though. And I’m very impressed modifications you made. Good job! 👍
Not suer if you've thought about it, but If I were you, I'd seriously consider producing these upgrades as a kit. Pre-ordered Ali-Express parts included. There are enough of us with these little machines We'd pay you good money for the kit!
Thank you for your advice.
I also think about what you say.
But selling things is a bit difficult in my current situation.
But if I sold a completely modification kit for the machine, how much will pay for it specifically ?
@@a-cnc-f Parts cost plus, oh, $150. Off the top of my head.
@@buxtor thank you.
The motivation for starting youtube is that I want to do something myself.
Right now, I have almost no income because of youtube.
I will refer to your opinion.
@@a-cnc-f I've got your money burning a hole in my pocket right now! I'm sure with each purchase, you could easily find your UA-cam account, as well as any and all parts for orders, plus have an income! Totally willing to start paying it forward!
Thank you.
I am very happy with your feelings about my activities.
That's very impressive cutting steel at the end, but it still looks like the bearings on the new headstock are the weak-spot. Unfortunately, there will always be flex/wiggle with ball bearings (even "deep groove" ones) and the only real cure is replacement with taper roller bearings, but the problem is finding these bearing in a size to be a straight "drop in" to the headstock.
Some of the flex could be mitigated by using the tailstock to support the end of your material, but I'm not so sure that the standard tailstock is rigid enough to be of much use.
I am satisfied with the rigidity of the spindle.
The next improvement would be the base.
Since it is made of aluminum, I feel the limit.
The strength of the tailstock is very low.
nice video
I know this video is old, but I was wondering about buying one of these and wanted to know if one of these cheap lathes was worth it. I would like to try to make small engines (really small) is this accurate enough to use for that, could it be made to? (I have no experience with this stuff).
Thanks for answering👍
(If you did)
I understand how you feel.
I, too, wanted a lathe that was inexpensive and could process metal.
It would be quite difficult to use the lathe in the video to make an engine.
As a result, I built another lathe.
I think a lathe of this size would be able to make the parts to make a small engine.

@@a-cnc-f thanks 😊 I check that
Good video,
Lots of NOISE
Excellent job mate!! How to install the new chuck part in the original bed? Is this possible?
The next video I release will answer your request.
I'm about to take this lathe apart and reveal the details.
First, I'll answer your question briefly.
There is a 9mm steel plate attached under the original bed.
The steel plate and the bed are bolted together securely.
The base of the head is also attached to the plate with 4-M6 bolts. The bed and headstock base are also bolted .
@@a-cnc-f .I want to replace the chuck like yours but I'm not sure how to do it! So definitely waiting for your next video!
Reason for cutting the base
1) If a chuck larger than STD Chuck is installed, it will interfere with the base.
2) To replace the base with an iron block to make the headstock tough.
@@a-cnc-f obrigado pela resposta, vc não tem o desenho das peças?
@@rubensfortesvaletec-food9608
There is no drawing. Because it was made from materials I have originally.
@@a-cnc-f Obrigado, assim que chegar o meu mini torno, vou fazer esta alteração. grande abraço

Bom Dia, vc pode me passar os códigos das polias e correias a maior e a intermediaria, para eu comprar no AE obrigado.
You are really trying to make it.
Do you have the tools to process the parts?
You need to make a bracket to install the motor and a bracket to install the pulley.
You have to make a pulley.

Hi I love your videos! How did you power the 895 motor?
Not bad. But not good enough.
Depends on what you cut.

o motor 895 e original dela?
It was a set when I bought the spindle unit.
@@a-cnc-f Estou querendo comprar uma igual essa sua para fazer alterações. Vi uns outros modelos no AliExpress mais barato. Queria saber se essa sua e toda de aluminio?
The frame of the lathe that forms the base is all aluminum.
That's cool. What is the maximum diameter of the workpiece that can be clamped into the 63 chuck? Can the 895 motor handle large diameters of aluminium, e.g. 40-50mm. Thank you!
It can clamp 50mm, but I haven't try yet.
895 motor is enough strong.
@@a-cnc-f How many revs does your 895 motor produce?
Not sure how many rpm but the motor is this link.
