I feel this on a personal level. I can hammer some one with multiple hits with a 20mm... then they turn around and hit me twice with a 7.7 and I lose both wings.
If this isn’t a gaijin moment i can find _some_ explanations. MiG-29 surviving: F-14 could be using AP (unlikely) or suffering from high ping / packet loss, and for the MiG-29s kill well, 30mm he does work when russian planes shoot it
The mig 29 getting hit "several times" was it getting shot in the fuselage which even if it would have been a wing I would have been surprised if he fireballed there because the mig has 7 more minutes of fuel less than half of the minimum Meanwhile the F-14 was hit dead center with like 10 ish bullets fired so its safe to assume that a couple of the bullets connected and well we dont know how much fuel the F-14 still had but what we do know is that majority of F-14's fuselages are in the center and not in the wings. The center being where the F-14 was hit Now ignoring this the mig got lucky as normally the mig outclasses even F-16 due to its super manouverability so if you wanna call it as a F-14 victory you wanna focus on how the MIG won because it was low on fuel and not because of skill or superior plane design

@Clankplusm he wanted the f14 to over shoot. However, that being said it was still very dumb. He had low fuel and speed. The mig 29 turns amazing. Why he didn't do a rate fight I do not know.
@@fochjr4223 this is older pre FM rework, the F16 actually lost the 2c against the MiG29 then, you wanted to 1C at the time. Now their 1C capability is much closer but the 29 relatively wins it (And funnily throttle cuts in there are a good idea)
as a counterbalance, you can bring Russian tank tops, which for the most part on their given br are whipping boys due to the unrealized advantages of the automatic loader, I would attribute this case rather to an ordinary bug, of which there are a lot of shit in the game

maybe F-14A was using "Air Target" round, due to zero-damage HE glitch. It's still suffering from bug, there we should use "Ground Target" when you use Vulcan.

He did it to kill airspeed, he drops gear as well, probably to shorten the time he's in front of the guns, would've done the same thing if I wasn't at 1000m altitude

Right, so 10-20 rounds of 20mm high explosive ammo crashes into your engine, cockpit, and your electronics, no damage. Yet you hit him with a 6 round burst in between the cockpit and the engines, and poof, it literally explodes. Makes fuckin sense.
not an expert but if you rewatch the video you can see how all of the shots hit the very edge of the mig. considering all the missed the F-14 got, its just skill issue.
I prefer to say "It's not the plane, it's the pilot... but sometimes it's the plane" because some fights are just so unlikely to win. For example if you have an F-100 and a J-35A fight with the pilots of about the same skill level, the J-35 will win 9/10, if not more

Non russian planes are sometimes underwhelming, and sometimes russian planes are overwhelming (like the Su-25 being made out of stalinium and being able to fly even when severely severly damaged, like 1 and 3/4 wings missing damaged), but it's never really exagerated. What I like to say is " _As long as the planes are fairly equivalent (or at least comparable) in dogfighting technology,_ it's not the plane, it's the pilot." for example this applies to G.91Y(S) vs MiG-19 but doesn't apply to F-14 vs Tornado, or at least not as much.

F14 wins every time I learned the hard way in my 29 earlier, with wings fully extended and correct power management it beats my 29 only just in a circle, be interesting to see the difference once I have full mobility upgrades in the coming days

Not realy when the f14 landed its shot on the mig 29 3 things shouldev happen loss of hydraulics,engine fire,and fuel getting set on fire non of those happened also gaijin didn't let players push the f14 to the limit the f14 is most maneuverable when wings are expanded and flaps are down causing the mainfr to shake intensely in a hard manuver but at that point it would beable to out-manuver at most the su 35
I always like watching the throttle in WT dog fights. You see how much input people do instinctively to gain a slight advantage. Plus deploying air brakes and gear for turning with afterburners. It’s pretty amazing how much multitasking we can input in a small time frame.
I landed a spitfire after it’s lefter left wing was obliterated, I legit just had to spin before I landed and then continue pushing in on the controller stick, lol.
