Today, Mark and I will show you how to install TKO Performance's new Attack Blue air filter in your C8 Corvette. Not only does this new filter look great, but it's supposed to give you 10hp to boot. It was an easy install as well, so it's something you can buy for $140 and do it yourself. This is definitely a c8 mod you cannot do without.

I finally got my TKO Blue Attack air filter for my C8 and noticed the HP increase when merging onto hwy from on ramp. Tour mode on V4 also showed 40mpg for 1/4 mile cruising from one light to the next. Loving it, definitely worth the time and money to install ASAP!
I like what it did for your car. I have to use up original first. Currently I have 90 miles on my C8. The blue filter is in my C8 note book now, along with many other. All are put in my budget. Just got my car xpeled and ceramic coated. Thanks Mike!

A lot of work to change an air filter! I’ll wait til it’s time and have the dealer do the install. And top up the transmission fluid at the same time.
OEM is the best option....The car manufacturer (GM) would make a small change to an air filter to obtain increased HP and/or improved filtration. I am sorry - for my money aftermarket air filters are smoke and mirrors and can cause more damage to the engine than it is worth (replace unit @ 50,000 miles & wash at 10,000 miles)...not for me thanks! Keep the excellent video's coming!!

They've already sent these out to lots of guys and there is no increase in performance so people that have to pay for them are just throwing money away. Without being able to crack the code, the ECM adjusts the fuel/air mixture no matter what you do on the intake side.

This air filter was Extensively tested ( on a different UA-cam Channel) , Do I think you gain 10/12 HP? , probably Not , But I’ll take 5HP , and you can just clean it instead of replacing the Air Filter
@@MLV3645 Hope you get your C8 quicker than I did. I got mine 2 days ago and original order was December 9, 2021. Of course you won't have the strike and pandemic delay that I did.

I have the aFe performance filter on my C8, they claim about 27% more flow, noticed a few days ago it was about $81.00. Have not tried the Attack Blue to compare. Waiting for aFe complete performance CAI.
Installed one on my C8, car definitely pulls harder and "slightly" louder.

I know the "real" reason you installed this blue filter Mike. Key word, "blue." You just love blue! 🤣 Who needs performance. It's the look that matters! Yeah, yeah, I know. You can't even see it. So what? Don't you sleep better knowing that it's blue? I would.😉 I love these type of videos where you're exposing some of the engineering that's gone into the C8. The perfect example is just the air cleaner, let alone the drive train, the interior, the transmission etc. etc. The list is endless. This was AGV! Save the Wave👋🏼

Keep zoom'n and blue'n. You need to keep install'n new "stuff" so that Mark can start build'n his own C8. In the mean time, maybe buy him a couple of Revell C8 models to build to keep busy. You know what they say about "idle hands."🤣

Small amount of WD40 on the air filter gasket (I apply with my finger) helps with the install
At 70 years old , the filter in my C8 is good enough for me. How fast do we need to go? I get to the corner and my brain is back at my home.
The Art and Science of Filters.... (Mirrors and tiny wires) The GM filter has close to twice as much filter area as the AB.... set the two side by side. You will note that the AB has far less pleats. That equals less filter media area... its just math. If the AB also allows more air flow through the engine... then the media in AB is more porous... thus there’s less pressure drop. With less pressure drop the fan drawing air in to the engine will draw MORE air through the engine requiring less energy (HP) at the same time. So the gain in HP is combo of more air into the engine and delivering that air requiring less HP to deliver it. The problem is that the media IS less porous... which means its allowing addition stuff in the air (PARTICULATE) of both quantity and size to pass through the ICE than the GM filter. Show me the test data of the GM and AB filters operating side by side with same quality of air (Particulate/Cubic Foot)... SHOW me that the AB will capture more particulate @ less pressure drop then the GM filter. And they’re also claiming you can go 50K miles without washing... sorry I want to see the performance date of this product side by side with the GM factory installed product... or I’m sticking with what the GM Engineers specified for this application. A CLEAN ICE is a HAPPY ICE.... 😎
Horsepower Obsessed has a great video on this, which tested the C8 on a Dyno with the OEM air Filter and with the AB air filter. The result was 12HP more and 13 pound torque more. Not significant, but to answer one question you had the filter is made of nano material thus the reason for less pleats. Almost like having a hepa filter which catches more particles with less material. Also the filter gives you 50K miles, and is washable at the suggested every 10K miles. I also see good savings if you had to replace the OEM filter 5 times. The AB filter does not degrade the car's performance or hinder damage to the car's engine prematurely. In my opinion there is similar performance, better air filtration, and a significant cost savings to say the least. A nice engine mod without going crazy on major alterations to the engine and ECU for that matter.
It doesn’t not say 50,000 miles without cleaning. It says 10,000 miles without cleaning, replace the filter at 50,000. Please have your facts straight before shitting on something.

He just hasn’t had a status update in a long time, so yeah, it’s pretty much on hold. Yeah, I love everything that I’ve done to the car so far.
It has been shown that GM filters outperform aftermarket stuff and these GM engines don't actually do better with more air - even if the after market stuff added more air.

@@jondough7727 There are now multiple videos of the same car getting dyno'd before and immediately after install of just this filter and all are showing 10-14 HP and 9-12 TQ

How long does it take to receive the c8 after you place an order?
Took right around 18 months from when I gave my deposit to when it was in my driveway.
4 years 7 months and 13 days 🤷🏽♂️ a lifetime 😂😂 it took me 11 months
