A little spin on Tiramisu that I tried once is adding Amaretto to the Marscapone and swapping the Savoiardi for Amaretti cookies, if you like the flavour of Almonds this is a great version to try :)
This must be my favorite dessert! All my favorites in one! Coffee, custard, rum! I wish, I could attempt this, but I can't stand, that long, because of a broken back.
I made a tiramisu last week with cointreau and the zest of an orange. For the custard I used whipped cream and egg yolkes but I also whipped the egg whites with some powdered sugar to lighten the custard. It was delicious but next time I will use stronger coffee and also layer some cocoa powder inbetween. Greetings from the Netherlands and have a great christmas weekend!!!
I never loved tiramisu until we went to Italy 2 weeks ago and it was completely different from any tiramisu I've ever had, literally brought me to tears it was so incredible. Now I HAVE to figure out how to make tiramisu like I had in italy.
This is so on time as I always do Italian cuisine for Christmas. I make cioppino and seafood lasagna and tiramisu for dessert and Negroni for the cocktail! Thanks for this!🥰
Italian here, hi. 🇮🇹 What's a "cioppino", never heard about it. Probably is a regional name for something. By the way Italians do not use Tiramisù for Christmas, it's an ordinary sweetie here. Christmas cakes are Pandoro, Panettone, (North Italy) Panforte (central italy), pangiallo and pan pepato (Rome), roccocò (Naples) and Cassata (Sicily).
@@lucaschiantodipepe2015 it is only a Christmas dish for me since I would get disowned if I didn’t bring one for our family gathering. Not a whole lot of people make it here in Canada. It is my favorite.
@@iamjacksnick if some people can't drink coffee, (I know some here) I tasted a version made by roasted barley "coffe" without caffeine. It was good anyway. By the way, do you have in your country "savoiardi/lady fingers" to make it? 🤔🤔 Let me know. Greetings.
@@lucaschiantodipepe2015 I actually use decaf lavazza as I have issues with caffine. Yes, in Canada we have "savoiardi/lady fingers" specifically Italian since they do not fall apart. I believe they are imported. Regards :-)
Made this for Mothers Day today, 2023. Took a little longer to make with the enthusiastic help of my 6 year old granddaughter, but, wow!! What a great recipe!!! Awesome celebration today! Many thanks!!
merry xmas laura, i make this cake every holiday there is, but i cook the eggs and sugar in a double boiler, i follow natastia kitchen recipe, i wish you would go over to see how she makes hers, its very similar too yours, enjoy your holidays
Thanks for the video, Laura! I notice you didn't cook the eggs; all other recipes I've seen are are with cooked eggs over a double boiler. Are the results the same ?
I all way like this sweet I had it once at Olive Garden however I can’t say the name so i feel Shay to explain it i had it twice or three times many years ago however I still remember it
It's a long time since I have done Tiramisu also. I will try to do it for New Year's Eve. Yours looks delicious ! Merry Christmas to you and the family ☃️❄🎄
I use light Philadelphia cream cheese n 35% whipping cream n the bonus coffee Liquor about 1-2oz even inside the coffee n it taste 👅 sooooo amazing. People can tell it’s cream cheese n it taste 👅 light.
Perhaps not everyone knows the literal translation of the term "Tiramisù". This term actually consists of an entire sentence…..”tirami sù” = pull me up. Merry Christmas/Buon Natale from Italy !
My mom always makes tiramisu by 10 or 11 pm, by that time we don't really crave any food plus the tiramisu can safely sit in the refrigerator for around 12 hrs
do you know what "Apizagrand", it is similar to Triamisu, but it has rice and raisins in it???my grand mother came from San Marcos, Italy, don't if that makes a difference or not...Buon Natale...
Looks so yummy! Would love to share my non-coffee recipe with you. No yokes Amaretto hot coco replaces coffee Top it off with slivers/shaves of a really good hazelnut choco bar. Buon Natale Tutti!

Sit at a table to do it! That's how I always do it anyways since it is a bit of a timely process. :)
Prayers for you ✌️😘
I’ve been making the old recipe for YEARS and everyone loves it! I have to try this updated version asap 😀
Ohhh I’m a happy camper! Thank you, Laura! Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family. ❤️

Could you cook the egg yolks in a bowl over a pan of boiling water?
I was wondering the same thing.
@@codyeve I have seen it been done before I just wanted to double check with Laura since I have never tried it myself.
@@sean.furlong1989 I’ve done it when I made ice cream. It should work.

Any concerns about the uncooked egg yolks?
You can always whisk the yolks and sugar over a double boiler
I make a zabaglione with egg and mascarpone and Marsala over double boiler - cool then fold in the whipped cream 🥰
do you know what "Apizagrand", it is similar to Triamisu, but it has rice and raisins in it???my grand mother came from San Marcos, Italy, don't if that makes a difference or not...Buon Natale...
I love you guys so much ❤️❤️
Any recommendations for where to buy Italian lady fingers??
THANK YOU!!!! XO
You can’t be posting these AFTER I already went to the supermarket 😂 Making Coq Au Vin this weekend too 👍🏼
Buon Natale a tutti!
🎅🌲Happy Holidays To You & Your Family🌲🎅
I do mine with Cointreau
These days I find the mascarpone that’s available to me is too thin and doesn’t create a thick cream..
It is really hard to search recipes on your website…
We actually make this for thanksgiving
For breakfast!! Yes!!!
My favorite😍😍😍😍
I just bought lady fingers and opened yt to find ur video ! Can i cook the yolks in double boile for a bit?
Laura.. Is your oven *La Cornue* ?
I love you so much Laura ❤️❤️
Looks beautiful! I’m interested in using the eggs, but I’m scared because it isn’t cooked.
That’s why I’m here in the comments...I agree.
I Make zabaglione over double boiler with egg yolks mascarpone and Marsala - cool then fold in the whipped cream 🥰

Tiramisu is the greatest dessert invented by God.
Good
When did you cook the eggs? The eggs are raw.
I love tiramisu, but I love it made with cake better, it just tastes better to me, I don't know if I'd like the liquor in it though.
Looks so yummy! Would love to share my non-coffee recipe with you.
No yokes
Amaretto hot coco replaces coffee
Top it off with slivers/shaves of a really good hazelnut choco bar.
Buon Natale Tutti!
