Made it today and my tiramisu turned out beautifully and delicious! Not too sweet or anything, the taste is perfect and the consistency is really nice too. Easy to make and to assemble, thanks for the recipe!
I made this yesterday...It didn't come out bad, but it also didn't really come out too great either. Couple things I am going to do different next time: 1.) Use actual espresso, not coffee. Go to Starbucks and get some if you don't have an espresso maker. 2.) Don't use Rum, use Kahlúa. I used WAY too much rum also (I used a shot), one piece of this got me wasted! 3.) For the heavy whipping cream, use confectioners sugar in it along with some vanilla extract as you are whipping the cream. What ingredients to use in the heavy whipping cream are not really covered here in this video, she just said have some ready. The issue is, if you're going to add sugar later on to the cream \ mascarpone mix, you don't want it to be too sweet. What I'm going to do is not use granular sugar, I'm going to use confectioners sugar, and I'm going to divide them evenly between the whipping cream making process and the mixing mascarpone with the cream process. 4.) For the Mascarpone really make sure it's at room temp and very soft, it can even be warm...I think this recipe uses a bit too much mascarpone. You don't want the end result to be loose but you don't want it to be like hard cake frosting either, which is kind of how mine turned out. 5.) I know this recipe does not use eggs but I honestly think that is the way to go to get the fluffy creamy consistency of the mascarpone / cream mixture. Hopefully my next batch will come out better. Again this one was not exactly bad but it wasn't exactly good either.
Recently made this and omg it turned out amazing! My family loved it and I have been asked to make it again !!! The best ever and easiest recipe to follow!!
Use dark rum. It gives both the color and the flavor although traditionally italian people use Marsala wine. Also you might want to add some coco powder into your cream mixture to fully give out flavor.
I have been watching a few tiramisu recipes here on UA-cam and this is definitely the one I'll be trying! Yours is the only one that actually turned out beautifully. And I like that there are no raw eggs needed :)
I love tiramisu too..... but dislike the raw egg yolks and alcohol... I think that the authentic tiramisu is using raw egg yolks. So, I omit the alcohol. But still use the egg yolks, I cook the raw egg yolks by whisking the raw egg yolks with sugar using double boiler method. That way the eggs yolks are cooked.
Finally made this recipe for my birthday this Saturday! It took me about a year to find ladyfingers! The market I was in only had one package of them left though (24 ladyfingers total) So I cut the recipe in half. Also couldn't find the mascarpone so I tried MissLalwen's recipe. It's in the fridge right now! Can't wait to try it, thanks Laura!
I first heard her say 46 hours in the fridge and thought to myself 'omg! I have to make this 2 days in advance of my party' !! Then I heard 4 to 5 hours and was relieved :-)
Julian Hewlett I actually wasn't sure it was Laura at first because I've only been watching her recent videos & she looks loads different in this to how she does now.
Oh my goodness, a Tiramisu recipe without the eggs?? That is perfect because I am also a bit icky about the use of raw eggs, especially ones that are not free range. You are amazing Laura!! I'm glad I found this channel.
i love this rec'pe Laura, you appear so easy and fun to work with and watch. all this area is extremely new to me my profession was always cleaning, my husband was the chef for over 20 yrs but now I find myself at the pc watching videos after videos looking up rec'pes all over the web. Scary but eh. I love it. You yourself appear to make baking much fun and that is basically what I am trying to convice myself so it be definite is want to do as either a hobbbie or even a new profession. Who know
Hi Laura, I'm so glad I found your recipe for tiramisu because I tried it for a dessert to bring to our office potluck and they raved about it!! I'm thrilled to have found your version that omits the eggs and uses whipping cream instead!! Thanks a million for this excellent tip!!! I have always used Kahlua as the liqueur because it really adds more coffee flavor. Luv your enthusiasm for simple, great tasting food!!! Also luv the music at the start of your videos…its 's happy and italian :)!!!
Hi Laura!!! Whenever I get sad I prefer to either watch your videos or cook something and this weekend I was in one of those moods and I hit the kitchen and made this Tiramisu. Not only it made my day but my friends cant stop talking about it ever since. Just wanted to Thank you for all your efforts that goes in making these amazing videos. PS: I've also tried your Banana chocolate chip muffins, Blueberry muffins and Berry Delicious fruit salad! All amazing recipes!
I've bought your cook book :D and i've tried the Tiramisu with hazel huts :O and OMG i will never ever do a normal tiramizu again! That was AMAZING! I have to admit i was a little nervous on trying it though but it was fantastic! I've made it for Christmas and they all loved it esp my boyfriend who isnt a big fan on Tiramisu all together lol thank you. PS i love your cooking channel :D
Hi TurquoiseBeach, Thanks for watching! The cream I used, I made myself, I just took 1-1/2 cups of heavy cream, and with an electric mixer, I whipped it at high speed, until the cream formed stiff peaks. Then, I keep it in the fridge until I needed it, because it stays stiff longer and does not deflate. -Laura
I don't know why I'm emotional watching this in 2018... I think I'm just so proud of Laura and knowing that little baby Mia is in the pipeline and all the success 2010 Laura doesn't even know about yet!
Laura; this a wonderful adaptation of the standard tiramisu recipe. I too am turned off by raw eggs but never thought of of a good substitute. Thank you.
Sweet Girl I tried the following in the process that the video suggests, and it came out awesome. People loved it: 1. 1 pint heavy cream 2. 16 oz mascarpone 3. 2 cup coffee (I use intelligentsia espresso coffee) 4. 3 cups of confectionary sugar (it depends on how sweet you want it, i always added 1 cup at a time and tasted the mixture of mascarpone and cream, since there is coffee added, it can become a bit bitter so account for that) 5. 1 tea spoon vanilla extract 6. Savioardi Ladyfingers 17.6 oz, will mostly have 4 to 5 bags in it. you can use rum if you want. I added rum to the coffee but it evaporated...lol Let me know how it turns out.
You look more italian in this video :-) along the way you became more and more american with great italian roots! It is a whole difference thats for sure!!! Your channels are addictive whaha! Thanks for all the smiles you gave to your followers and the best recipes! I love it and keep it coming! You are doing great! With love from the Netherlands!!

I been watching and making her recipes for years and this week since I love to bake someone asked me if I know how to do Tiramisu and I say I know what it is but had never made it but I can find a good recipe and ill make it.. so of course immediately thought about her since she is italian!! when I see the number of this recipe I said of course she made it in her firsts recipies! imma try it !! Thanks Laura you are awesome!!!
You are adorable and the tiramisu looks great.I make the cheese myself cause I can't find it in Alabama and leave out the rum cause I"m a recovering alcoholic but it comes out great.I love this stuff.
dear laura, we are italians and we follow you for your great ability to cook! we love tiramisù, and here we do in another way: into the dough we add some eggs and sugar, without cream, only with mascarpone cheese 'cause it's soooo heavy :) we want to pay a compliment! you're great! federica and marco :)
Absolutely agree. I even found Mascarpone cheese that was already infused with real coffee! Bought that to make the Tiramisu and wow did it taste sinfully good.
Even though it isnt usually in it, I would totally put mini chocolate chips in there because I LOVE the taste of chocolate with coffee flavor and well as chocolate with mouse and fluffy textures :). Thanks for these videos. I have been watching these for about a month from your recent video at the time and i am obsessed with your channel. I hope you never ever delete your channel or any videos because I want to try and make all of these some day :). You are the best cooking channel ever I think!
My boyfriend is Italian and the best tiramisu i ever had was made by his aunt! I always thought it was so difficult to make but this is actually quite simple! I must try to make it one day :)
Ciao Laura! Thank you for all your recipes. My husband is Italian and we live in Naples, Italy. I'm blessed to have a sister-in-law that taught me how to cook Italian dishes and looking at your videos I see you've been MORE than loyal to the Italian tradition! I went to a restaurant where they served tiramisù with philadelphia cream cheese mixed into the cream. Can you make a video on how it can be done? Thanks again for your videos! God bless you! -Aurora p.s. Is it ok if I omit the rum?
Hello !! I wanted to leave a comment, am from Canada and I tested your recipe. It turned out REALLY GOOD, and am a horrible cook. At first, I thought there really was not a lot of sugar, and I don't like cacao's taste when it's not sweetened enough. But.. WOW that tiramisu was extremely good. So thanks for your useful tips :) I used a cheap mark of lady fingers, but I made sure they were crispy and not spongy. The results were good, so I guess it's not that important if the texture is the one you're looking for. Also, I didn't add the gin in the espresso ! Again thanks Laura :)
@Titagata1 given what the ingredients are it would seem that they would work IF you like a really sweet dessert. The tiramisus I've had haven't ever been really sweet...but as with all cooking...everyone's preferences vary. You could also try reducing the sugar in the mascarpone a bit. If you're having trouble finding them locally you could try online. There's a ton of options on amazon.
Hi Laura. I love your recepies. You said you don't like raw eggs in it. I agree, but I put egg youlks in " bagno maria" with sugar and that' s it. I'm from Slovenia it's border is nexst to Trieste and I love love your version of Italian cousine.
Wow it is so super yummy!!I cant wait to make it with also with coffee i dont care at least is yummy!!!wo taught Laura Vitale to cook so well, why her grandmother teach her or her mom or cousins or herself?whatever as long her food is super yummy though..She is my celebrity chef in the world!!!!
Hello Laura, the Tiramisu turned out delicious. Sadly we didn't find any mascarpone here in Peru so we used creamcheese instead. I think one has to add more sugar when using creamcheese but we just sprinkled the slices with powdered sugar and it was perfect.
thank you so much for this recipe!! it's far more easier and simpler than the traditional recipe.. made it today! it was delicious.. it's my dad's new fav dessert! going to be making it many more times.. :D
I am making this today for hubby, it is my first time making Tiramisu. But tomorrow is 11 years since we met and he loves Tiramisu but rarelly has it because buying it ready made is so exspensive. Hope it turns out good. :)

Have you made it without alcohol, and was it still good?
I tried it but the lady fingers did not hold. The became sooo mushy. Any tip that you can share? Thank you.

I am making this today for hubby, it is my first time making Tiramisu. But tomorrow is 11 years since we met and he loves Tiramisu but rarelly has it because buying it ready made is so exspensive. Hope it turns out good. :)
