Thank you for your mod reviews. I have many problems with GW2 interface and you are helping me to keep playing the game i love, by sharing very useful information. Than you so much!
It's a good addon and I'm sure it will be an improvement for squad leaders but it still requires a fair bit of micromanagement/fiddling with options and I wish instead of having to use yet another addon, Anet would actually improve the game itself. I always thought the best way to handle it as an in-game improvement would be to show the build template name the player is using in the window that appears when you hover over someone's icon in a squad - the window that usually comes up with their name, level, elite spec, achievement points, current map and online status. So if the current build template the player had active was called "Heal Scourge" it would appear in that window as well. I would imagine most people already name their build templates in a pretty explanatory way for their own ease of reference, but if any don't I'm sure they'd likely start doing it if this functionality existed because it would save them from having to state their role on join every time they enter a lfg. It would be useful for the person joining as well as the squad leader who wouldn't need to assign anything or do anything above what they currently do - it would just make it so the squad leader no longer needs to manually remember who is doing what role.
by default the build template name is "x class build" (like guardian build) or "unnamed template". I'm betting 99% of the time you would see just that because I'm sure a lot of people don't even know that you can change it
I think the reason arenanet won't develop a similar squad management system is because they're still unsure they want the alac and quickness dichotomy. Haven't they been on record saying boons should just happen while in a squad, I read that as them saying they aren't happy with how the meta is for 2 people to per subgroup to provide every boon
@@darensgw2 why wouldn't they? I think they think, and ofc this is all just speculation and a tinfoil condom theory of mine, that the system works although they might not have intended it to be this way. And they have nothing better as an alternative.
@@darensgw2 convergences and dragons end, btw, the non organized ones I tend to be able to join, no one is sorting for boons, they just stack everyone in sub 1 and it works hehe
To a certain degree I hope they remove Quickness & Alacrity as boons and just give everyone a 15-25% buff (or maybe remove it completely and nerf every dps by a huge amount to open up new ways to increase power in future expansions) in general, if they then rework the current q/a traits it would also open up more possible dps or maybe heal builds which would at least in my opinion be a start to fix some problems I feel that exist and have since ages. After that maybe balance condi & power dps so that both are equally usefull in every content and then we're golden for that part. I just don't think either is going to happen for a while or at all sadly.
If it would automatically assign roles based on output boon duration uptime, that would be the best way to improve this addon. This is already tracked by arcdps so it's possible to make this a feature. Just depends on the dev Otherwise, I don't really see a need for this addon because it just adds extra steps compared to just eyeballing it
@Hashuu well the amount of boon duration you require to give quickness and alacrity for different specs is not the same. So I don't really think this would work.
@@darensgw2 i mean as long as they have an output to anyone which is in area buffs in arcdps ('output' (o) 'as volume on any' (a) ) it can be done and will work
maybe there can even be a setting where it needs to hit a minimum number to auto assign the role. this would really make meta trains for commanders so much better
ngl when im doing daily strikes and 3-4 ppl leave after first strike its just faster to make new group than wait until ppl tell you what they playing... last time i waited 3 mins for alac player to tell me that hes playing alac. even tho this addon looks useful its still insane amount of work for comm to do every time he makes sq. this would need solution from Anet ... like setting number of groups while making sq and put lfg which allows only players with ability to provide certain roles which would automatically put them into groups.
Is nexus down I downloaded the latest file I get the actual icon loading game. I go to add-ons but everything’s blank and it’s also saying that it’s not able to fetch data from the actual Nexus server.
Ffs Arenanet just do it like wow does. As soon as you join a group you have to specify your role. I get it, you don't want roles but then either MAKE ROLES OBSOLETE OR GIVE INTO THE ROLE SYSTEM. Stop meandering in the middle because it's fun for no one.
Anet need to fix the lfg system. Give us something similar to wow where you pick a role then apply to groups using that role. Would help group content so much.
@@Shrek_The_Mathematician it is the journey that creates the content not the achievement. I prefer 1 hour of struggling with some group and failing to get the clear than have 1 minute prep and 4 minutes to clear the event. If people don't talk to each other - you get a dead game.
The mod looks handy but it's another mod to fix an issue that shouldn't exist
This is a game changer 🔥 half of the sweaty work as commander is gone

shit this actually makes me more comfortable to organize groups ngl
the amount of addons that seem to be springing up, time for a CC to make a addon guide vid, most ppl at most might have blish :P

well if that was the case they wouldnt have done content like dragosn end , eparch and convergances

I'm not aware of arenanet's philosophy on this but the current system sucks so fucking bad lol. Hosting groups is cancer

Anet need to have a different color for members of a subgroup so it's easier to stack in chaotic open events.
Anet, just add this to the game.

Seems useful only for for open-world squad leaders. Not that hard to keep track of 10 people
Speak for urself. I have a bird brain
well, it´s usually not an issue when people join. But if VERY often becomes problematic when people LEAVE.
its not about it being more or less useful, its about it being useful or not useful

yeah this would be ideal imo
This looks bad idk why Anet won't create a nicer UI , WoW did it years ago . Do Anet devs not care about their game ?
Anet need to fix the lfg system. Give us something similar to wow where you pick a role then apply to groups using that role. Would help group content so much.
Let's hope that this does not hurt the social aspects of the game - as we don't want to play with "bots", do we?
???

It's not hard to organize, u guys are just incompetent that's all.
