TOO FAST APPROACH SPEED! TOGA 💪🏻

- This is EK3 A6EVH from DXB arriving into London Heathrow Airport. We heard from our airside source that the pilot reported they had ‘too much Approach speed’, hence the TOGA.
Wiki says: An A380 crosses the landing threshold at a docile 140 knots and touches down, depending on its landing weight, at a speed as slow as 130 knots.
She didn’t look/appear abnormally fast, certainly compared to other 380’s, but I guess that’s the Emirates way 👍🏻 Safety First 🙏🏻
Listen to those Trent 900’s going full chat, or ‘through the gate’ as the Bomber Boys used to call it 💪🏻
I really like the fact that Jerry knows when to stop talking and let the natural sounds play out. In the broadcasting world it’s called, “let it breathe”. And those engines can definitely breathe.
Airshow announcers should write some notes. 😂
You really need to clean your mouth and tongue pal, I think some faeces got in around there
Perhaps they were too engrossed trying to see if you were filming their arrival and forgot to pay attention to the instrument panel! ✈️
😂😂
Either that, or they did see Jerry and they intentionally did the go around just to entertain him😂
TOGA is a power setting. A go around is what is flown.
Well yes. But TOGA stands for Takeoff/Go-Around. You can call it a TOGA or a go-around as they all stand for the same thing.
Listen to those trent 900s sing! ❤❤
Not often that Jerrys rendered speechless! good on you for keeping it cool there.
Just like the VC 10s. Beautiful.
I got a couple of nice photos of Jerrys van the other night in the North Longstay carpark at LGW ...was there for a few days/nights (i work at LGW) and the Mrs works at LHR and she says she never gets bored of seeing the 380 out of her airside office window😎
Wow such power in those engines
Stunning! Sometimes less is more.
Fabulous ❤❤
A flashback to the 707s and DC8s with all that smoke Nice one Jerry
Did you ever see a Convair 880 at takeoff? Super smoker. I miss those loud smokey engines. Amazing what progress engine technology has made.
@@michaellashchuk9629 Yes remember the Spantax Coronados could see them coming miles away
That burnt JP1 smell in the morning.😊
Wow love that sound
Brilliant
Absolutely beautiful! Great shot as well.
Awesome catch. Loved the smoke that came out when it went full thrust!
Incredible
Spectacular
What a glorious craft.
Modern approach is fully automatic, guided by ILS, so "too much approach speed" is not a plausible reason. The pilot might have seen something on the runway while landing or the Tower sent a "go around" instruction. When weather is bad, pilots are allways prepared for immediate "go around" procedure in the last seconds before plane touching the ground.
What you are saying is what is not plausible. Is it something new that pilots never fly manually now? Even on perfectly clear day? That would be a really stupid policy.
I wonder if there was anything the crew could have done to have corrected the high speed a bit earlier to avoid the toga. But hey, the second landing was perfect!
Why would you think it’s because of high speed? Just because an observer behind a camera said so?
I’ve seen go arounds at the FedEx hub in clear weather at night.
Were you in the field next to Myrtle Avenue? I was there on that day :) got the same video on my channel!
Amazing stuff.
Was that just before the A380 when UA-cam froze ?
Wat great go round for Emirates a380
Unstabilized approach most likely , or a system warning requiring GA.
The only other causes could be atc instruction for some reason, weather which also causes unstable approach and runway incursion. Apparently none of those.
Interesting, I think I've only seen go-arounds' owing to poor weather.
That’ll be an unstable approach then lol nice !!!
Too much approach speed? Nope, power kicks in just as a bump of crosswind hits, and, as others have put, the approach becomes unstable. It was doing 134kts at the point of approach the go around was triggered, which, is perfectly fine for the type.
👍
Meanwhile back in Dubai, the entire 380 training department had strokes because of how long it took to get the handle in the “up” position.
That’s really the lowest priority now.
Pitch, power retract one stage of flap.
Looked like a text book go around….
Wickedddddd
😎😎
Hang on Jerry's in the field on his van! Let's for
Maybe too to the left on approach you could see like 6KTS of crosswinds though.
First i thought he saw 3 Papi lights when he accelareted.....
great sht
How do you know they went around because they were too fast?
Pilot was watching BigJet TV and wanted to put on a show.
forgot to look at his speedometer.
Running rich! :P
"Going for Paris air show"
"Play some song on show "😂
How do you know they're too fast? LHR ATC gives you the speed to fly at.
Too fast is a dam site better than to slow though dont you think
How can you possibly know the speed was too fast?
Maybe somebody was watching on FR24? Just a guess.
I agree. A little knowledge spread very thinly on YT. I’m going to start commenting on brain surgery …
First officer flying lol.
This can happen to anyone regardless of rank you know. Your comment is basically the equivalent of saying it’s a woman pilot.
All filth out them engines. Is it a diesel burner ???
Somebody will be in the chair for a grilling over why they were speeding on their approach. Go-around’s cost money. 🙄😉
A good airline will have a no questions asked go-around policy. If pilots were to get in trouble for going around they'd start continuing with approaches they shouldn't to avoid the scrutiny.
Ryanair at the very least have that policy, I don't know about other airlines but it'd surprise me if they differed.
Hi big jet I love your videos plz see this
