I would just like to thank all ground staff in airports everywhere that had to stay out in that weather to allow aircraft to land and be taken care of. Also to that madmen that stayed out in that weather to film this so we can be amazed at the skill of those pilots.
me a retired airline pilot, A330 the largest, long haul. REALLY ENJOY YOUR BEST OF and your commentaries are pure enthusiastic fun, so thanks and keep on going !
@Olagonin Chancer wow, so rude!
Ah, love to see profs like it to. 🌬✈
Rudeness will not be tolerated
Rude ?
wilber burroughs Not you, sir. Olagoni Chancer made a comment which has now been deleted.
Love the commentary from you Jerry. It’s pricelessly funny. Easy. Easy. Easy son of ohhhhhhh. Genius 👌👌😂
Found your channel yesterday during storm eunice, officially addicted and have a new appreciation of pilots! Loving the commentary Jerry! Very entertaining 👏 easy son! 😁
Love your comment. My daughters are too. I worked in Trauma & the Emergency as a first responder @ the hospital it gets the gets adrenaline pumping but, I'm ok
32:20 my favourite. The enthusiasm and praise
Lol
plane: does regular crosswind landing
Jerry: EASY SON!!
I love his commentary 🤣 makes the video so much better 😂
No Name his commentary MAKES this video as fun as it is to watch I think. I’d like to put him in the same room as Ricky Gervais lols
Chris P very true hahah
Great stuff Jerry! Love your set up.
blancolirio :)
Hi Juan, love your content
It's like watching Ozzy Man reviews, just with planes and go arounds 😄
2:35 that rudder use is crazy !
I learned to fly at Dodge City, Kansas (KDDC). At that time it was the windest airport in the U.S. (15.2 MPH). As a student we couldn't solo if the wind was higher than 30 MPH. If you didn't/couldn't fly in the wind you didn't fly in SW Kansas. These pilots were in "EXTREME" conditions and did a great job! Thumbs up to those pilots and crew. And a "HUGE" thumbs up to Big Jet TV!
Jerry…. I absolutely love your humorous commentary and enthusiasm! You bring smile to my face! Keep up the great work! Stay safe!
28:15 -- looks like a windshear escape maneuver: full power (love the smoke!), pitch WAAY up, flaps and gear stay down until the windshear warning stops. Notice how the plane appears to slow down a bit as it climbs, as the maneuver is designed to trade airspeed for altitude.
Historical perspective: Windshear brought down Eastern 66, then PanAm 759, and finally Delta 191 before the rollout of the airborne wind shear detection and alert system, designed to prevent crashes due to microburst-related windshear associated with thunderstorms. However, the system cannot discern between microbursts (ie: strong downdrafts with outflows that caused the 3 crashes listed above) and other more benign conditions. But pilots have no choice: they are trained to immediately fly the escape maneuver seen here if the cockpit computer voice yells "WINDSHEAR!", which is what this United crew did. There are MANY false alarms in general high-wind conditions. The go-around you see here was likely NOT due to a microburst, but rather turbulence in high winds.
Man These pilots do a very good job of crabbing when they land
I watched this all day Sunday 😍
Jerry, I love your enthusiasm. Nice to know there is another fan like me.
Fantastic - Jerry & Big Jet TV....! Got the mates together & popcorn & Score Cards ready to Score each landing plus factoring-in the Degree of Difficulty...!
I love the accent combined with the enthusiasm! Oh....the landings are okay, too
36:50 touch & go: "Ladies & Gentlemen, this is your Captain... We at British Airways desire for you to have memorable flights with us. Just to make sure you have memories of *this* flight we're going to make a second landing! Champaign and cocktails will be available at the gate upon deplaining."
Congratulations and bravo to all the aircrews that make air travel possible. Most people don't know how difficult this is to do.
I was thinking I'm going to point out 3 or 4 of my favourite moments of this show
But this video is so good it deserves the whole 52minute watch!!!!
Amazing
Skilled, brave pilots !!!!
Blancolirio Juan "Brownie" Browne sends his love. This is as addictive as watching Olympic skiing. Especially the ski jumpers.
I watched this live all day sunday ..small hangover... mental weather ...on big telly chilling...was fantastic viewing....jerrys commentry and banter is hilarious....
Some years ago on a flight from Atlanta to Baltimore, through a storm along the east coast, we rode in the back row of a 737 I think it was. Anyway, the landing at Baltimore required 2 touch and goes and a change of runway to conquer the cross winds. That was not a fun ride. I had no idea airliners did touch and goes till then. Great channel, Blancolirio sent me, love it.
These pilots really deserve their pay cheques.
@Max Payne I guess you're right!
Imagen it's the Auto Pilot haha
@@SuperNinger That's what caused the Dubai crash, these pilots know what they're doing.
Hey Vieux Bal, I've just found two things we have in common. We both have an A350 as our profile, and we both have a comment with 42 likes !
SuperNinger autopilots aren’t certified for strong crosswinds. The manual landing wind limits are much higher!
Don't know what I like better the amazing pilots landing or the commentary of the amazing pilots landing!!
Thank you so much for being out there and giving such a great set of Not Landings!
Kudos to yous for bracing it for that long! That united 777 missed approach was the most stunning for me.
Flippin' eck! Glad I wasn't a pax in any of these! Great show!
Awesome to see people coming over from Blancolirio. I have been a big fan of his channel for several years. Found Big Jet about 6 months ago. Love Jerry and his enthusiasm for aviation. Watched this live and it was a blast!!
Your enthusiasm is SO infectious. Fantastically enjoyable video.
Ryanair would charge you extra for a go-around... ^^
Thank you Big Jet TV! This is awesome!!!❤✈😊
So many great ones! My favorite was the British Airways 747. All the crabbing 🦀✈😄
I'll bet my bullocks to a barn dance all your go arounds were straight rookies - utter madness.
Absolutely cracking commentary, amazing shots and well done for being out there and filming the fun for us all to see. outstanding dude.
Just brilliant. Thank you
You smashed it that day Jerry you really did
Great video shots, wonderful to watch. Thank you!
Greetings from South Africa
Great Video !! Thanks for sharing. It is remarkable how The Dreamliners behave so stable in this sort of weather. I cannot recall not one of them going around ....
That Iberian landing would have had me in tears on that plane 🤣 actually there were a few of them I would have been crying 👍🏻
Why?
Came here to find this after seeing similar videos on the news. This was 9am flight from Madrid and I can confirm it was a white knuckle ride. Probably the worst approach that I've experienced. Even when we got to the terminal the wind was so strong the plane was still rocking to and fro.
@Fat Puppy I’m not a good flyer anyway, but that would have put me off forever!
@TheEryk because I don’t like flying anyway, and that landing was awful, I thought that was obvious!
Sharon A I'm no pilot but I have studied how accidents happen and an accident can usually be traced to a prior event or decision....that pilot really pushed the envelope and was clearly in the danger zone....he/she should have gone around imho.
Watching this again for the 6th time now in July 2020. Best show ever
I'm an avid aviation fan. Somehow got to know about this morning's heathrow event via some website. And it led me to this video. Watched the entire 7 hour footage and Jerry's enthusiasm. It was an amazing watch. Have subscribed the channel now. Looking forward to the next windy day at Heathrow and tossing and turning but safe plane spotting on this channel . Cheers .
I love the 747!
She will always be my favorite jet but watching the A-380 land in bad conditions is just something to see!
Jeeeeesi H Christ!
Just look at how wide those wings are
look at how massive the landing gear is !
37:20 TOUCH AND GO by a 777! Looks like the left main ended up to the RIGHT of the centerline as he pulled it up. Good call -- he was headed for the grass!
Come back to this video all the time. Excellent work
That was a real TOGA party!!
Great to watch the highlights after enjoying the full feature on Sunday. Bit of a shame you will be away for Storm Dennis, this weekend. Thanks J&G.
Can't stop watching
Just giving this another watch. Brilliant !
And the winner of the best ever video commentary/narration category is....
Hello, I first saw your work. via a pilot for a US major airline,,All I can say, is I ADMIRE YOUR WORK & running commentary , love your FOUL WEATHER GARMENTS TOO, Cheers FROM NJ. USA🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great job! Thank you for this video😀
just love this!
Finally got round to watching it. Nice one.
That was some blustery right there, loved every minute of it. Pretty sure I was going to see Jerry cartwheeling away in the wind. Top notch commentary.
I wouldn’t like to be a pilot in these storms. Waiting for the next storm to watch this amazing guy 👏🏻👏🏻
“Use the rudder to flick it round son!” BRILLIANT! New subscriber from Blancolirio.
Now THAT is some spectacular plane spotting action!
That Iberian pilot has serious skills, he was blown way of course! I bet pilots like days like these, gives them a chance to test out their years of training
The skill of these pilots is phenomenal - big kudos to them & your channel is helping everyone recognise that. I landed sideways once, everybody was crying & praying lol. I'm the worst flier but I love take off & landings, it's when I'm up in the air my brain starts ticking over.
Ridiculous I know 😐
Big Jet I love it!! Thanks
I'm disappointed you missed out the Q400/dash 8 landing! That was skills, it was like landing a leaf.
Have the links for the vid mate?
Flippin ‘eck Jerry, I’m hooked! All I’ve done in my spare time since last Friday is watch all your Big Jet TV videos, I’m addicted to this and FlightRadar24. Thanks for all your vlogs and great commentary, go on my son, stick it on the deck! 👍
Oh, the greatest show on Earth ❤️
🎭Fantastic !!! Some skilled landings there Jerry Wow!!..Every landing isn't in warm and sunny conditions...Kudos!!! to the pilots....
Fantastic video! Love your commentary, you have so much fun! :)
Great stuff thanks !
Fascinating
They were talking about you on Radio 5 Live this morning Gerry, particularly this video and the Touch and go 777. You're a star son!!!!! Best channel on UA-cam by far.
I have always loved these big planes, great videos
First time to watch your videos. Loved it! As a pilot, I love it to watch my collegues have to earn their paychecks! Keep up the good work!
I watch all those typical jetwatcher videos with nuthin' but wind noise or piped-in music, but with added commentary like this -- I'm HOOKED! Very entertaining -- thank you.
Jerry you are a excellent reporter! The videos are amazing I am pretty mellow and soft-spoken but, you got my adrenaline pumping! I sat in my living room watching coaching these planes down, I felt like I was right by your side standing in the rain. Great Reporting!
You're the best on youtube man!
Hnads down !
Real dude !
LMMFAO @15:27 Look at this ! this boy's all over the shop !
Beautiful shot of the Air NZ Koru punching through. This storm is just a typical crosswind landing at Wellington in NZ.
Love watching big jet tv thanks jerry
Thanks for that had the phone volume on full when it started - nearly gave me & the whole of my street a heart attack!
"let's start with a jarring noise that's by definition unpleasant; its horribleness will no doubt be amplified by tinny phone speakers. that squeaky scratch sets the tone for our equally abrasive commentary! that's just good branding, mate."
LOVING IT!!
I heard about your channel on Radio 1 yesterday with Greg James and am already addicted! Sooooo moreish! Love the commentary Jerry and as a bit of a plane/helicopter/jet nerd, this is right up my street. I could watch it all day. Love it son!
'Woooaaahhhh Eeeeeeeeasy Son!' Simply superb.
Another one from Juan. Cracking up at the commentary! Nice video.
Those pilots are hero’s getting all those passengers down safely and making important decisions when needed to circle if they think the wind was just to much!
Loved it... watched this on my big screen TV was amazing! Thanks!
How big?
Guli less 65” LG
@@pamerard8381 yesterday I saw a video and it was 100" laser tv , meantime I seen your text
Guli less 100” TV ?? ... How would anyone have room for that? LoL
@@pamerard8381 lol yea, but that guy is so rich and got huge house.
Hi Jerry,
I live near IAH, and have noticed there is no channel currently live-streaming from there. We rarely get the storms you have there but I am hoping to get my channel up soon with the help of my grandchildren. At 61 yesterday old my son got me a discovery flight for Father's Day. I've been hooked since then. I admire your work and wish you the very best 🤩
Fascinating. Nice zooming in. I appreciate it when u name the model (777 etc). esp. when they're in the clouds etc.Great channel. & your commentary & cheering ads a lot !
Wouldn’t be BigJetTV without an “EAAAAASY SON” when things get rough😁😁 love your content man thank you!
Easy, easy, easy .. go on son! Loving this 👍
Awesome highlights!
So glad that you captured the 777-300 of Air New Zealand. I live over there. They get plenty of practice especially at Windy Wellington. Look up Wellington Airport windy.
Amazing skills these guys have!
Amazing! I love it and your commentary Jerry 🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧
Thanks! love the storm videos!!
Intense moments, great catch. Where was this vid for one year? This is pure pilot alertness and skill..a flurry of move counter move. Wow!
You have the best commentary and make these videos really fun to watch! Huge props to the pilots who get these planes safely on the ground in these conditions!
Found about this channel when I heard about it on Radio 1...brilliant....subscribed!
Awesome video -- thank you !!
Brilliant viewing, started watching after all the publicity on news and internet about this channel after Fridays storm..I'm SO thankful I wasnt a passenger on any of them planes that day....
Absolutely great footage
BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!
