I was a passenger on the A380! Hats off to the pilot, calmly gave updates to the passengers throughout. Thanks for the video upload, was interesting to see!
I cannot imagine what it must have felt like inside the plane! It looks like minor movements from us watching outside, but that plane is as big as a city block!
It looks like the last time around they got their flaps and everthing where they wanted it to be, although a bit hard landing.
Congratulations to the pilots decision making.
Thank you for letting us know you was onboard , it was fascinating to watch and stream , the pilots done a terrific job during the hour of trying to get the A380 down . 👍
I would prefer if the flight crew concentrated on flying duties rather than giving updates to the passengers at the back. In flying it's Aviate, Navigate, Communicate so passenger updates are at the bottom of the priority list. Not the type of distraction needed after several hours of flight to then subsequently landing in challenging conditions . . .
@@TRPGpilot Spoken like a true desktop pilot who does not have the software plugins to allow the A380 to fly and allow PA comms at the same time.
The skill required to land a big beast such as that A380 is immense and obviously passenger and crew safety comes first 👍🏻
Hats off to that pilot for the landing in such adverse conditions!
Well said Mick , the flightdeck crew doing what they do best , keeping the aircraft and everyone onboard safe at all times. 👍
@@AirportAction thank you, i have every admiration for pilots and crew 👍🏻
Is massive ❤
@@murrayent1ableThat’s what she said….
Beautiful. A reflection of good training, skill, solid decision making, bravery snd dedication. That plane isn't shabby either. Hats off to all.
A pilot's job is 99.9% boredom and 0.1% terror. There must have been rapturous applause from the cabin when they did get it down.
I was on that plane - it was so nerve wracking. The plane was all over the place but it doesn’t look so bad on the video
I would have had a heart attack
I was just on one that did it recently in Norfolk Virginia. Scary. Especially when you don't know what's happening.
Respect to the captain and F.O. … awesome effort and skill.
Well done to the pilots getting the big bird down safely
Respect to the amazing people who work in Air Traffic Control. Must have been hectic re-organising all these go arounds and the fresh attempts to land
The sometimes overlooked unsung heroes of aviation 👍
@@AirportAction very true, it must have been a complete headache, but they did and do a Stirling job
Awesome. If it isn't right then go around. This pilot is a top man. 👋👋👋
You are bang on there Ian , all the pilots performed incredibly well yesterday 👍
Or woman! 🤣
Mindblowing.
From that front on shot, in those tiny windows is some human in total control of this behemoth, this airborne monster which has less right to be airborne than a bumble bee.
Well said 👍
I freaking love the A380 - wings curved like a hawk's shoulders on profile. Badass looking.
The Wright Brothers called and said great landing guys !
We were on the M6 motorway in a traffic jam and this came directly over us on its first attempt, an incredible sight to see something that large just above you, only for us to see it shoot up again for another go.
My kids videoed it through the sunroof and then tracked it on FlightRadar until we arrived at our destination, Stratford Upon Avon, only to find out it took 3 attempts.
Great footage, thank you!
Incredible MrAnderson , seeing it that close above your head , an engineering marvel 👍 Thank you for watching this footage as well , really appreciate the support 👍
yes
Your kids did a terrific job at recording a stunning to witness the challenging landing due to wind condition...invisible powerful force.
I will never say” I'm stressed out” again
Ohh gosh how stressful! Total respect and appreciation to the fantastic Pilots, crews etc
Wow ,the power of the wind buffetting that aircraft .As a nervous flier im so glad i wasnt aboard.Well done to the pilots
Thanks Christine , i always find landings like this reassuring , the pilots , only touchdown when everything is 100% , no safer way to travel , than by air 👍
If anything it should make you less nervous when you see how they take this in their stride
I’ve flown on the A380 with Emirates and it was a fantastic experience. What an amazing aircraft. Ten people sat across each row !! 3+4+3……What amazed me was the sheer physical size of the wing, it’s huge.
I flew on the 380 when i went to Australia and also when i went to India , fantastic aircraft 👍
Same here the best experience I had earlier this year with A380
I was so shocked when I saw the number of passengers waiting at the gate to board our first A380 flight I refused to get on and my poor partner had to talk me down.
Once I boarded, different storey and looking forward to my A380 Emerates flight later this year.
Congratulations to the pilot for safely landing the aircraft under difficult conditions
Holy smokerinos! That was great! Love the sound of the engines as they spool up during go around.
Great video of the A380. Certainly on the second attempt on short final it appeared the cross wind component had picked up a lot more. Great to hear the pilot kept passengers updated through their attempts to land. Very skilled pilots indeed. Impressive flying guys!!!!!🎉🙂
Thank you Sam , and well said too regarding the the Pilots 👍
amazing lane, terrific pilots; I am 82 and took my first trip on an EMIRATES A380 , from LHR TO DBX; change to an Boeing 777 to Seychelles, there is no comparision between them. the B777 was not comfortable for the trip to SEZ, for a holiday ( 1 week, last June ) and even when the A380 pilots announce there is some turbulance you never noticied that there was turbulanceany it was still so smooth on the A380. I doubt if I can afford any more holidays, but I love to see any videos with the A380 flying.
The most comfortable plane in the world. None other comes close.
Love it. Was lurking before work. What a day it was! Top job Kev.
Pilots really earned their wage today also.
Thank you Rob , also great comment regarding the pilots , they done a fantastic job , in such conditions ( makes you realise just how safe flying is , even if the winds are strong ). 👍
If I’d watched this live I’d have been cheering on the pilots so much after that 3rd attempt. Finally succeeded!
I watched it live, and it turned into an epic hour or so with massive relief the plane landed.Respect to Kev for not overdramatizing the situation.
To see EK fly past my house three times in an hour was awesome. To then see it finally land on screen at BHX was even better. A sigh of relief from the passengers I’m sure. You thoroughly deserved those record figures yesterday Kev 👏👏. Also, well done to you, Michelle & Chloe for attaining 21k subs, although I don’t think it will be too long before you reach 22k….maybe just in time for Christmas 🎄🎅😊.
Thank you so much Sarah , it was a day full of surprises. Being able to see the big bird fly past your house 3 times , then watch it land on screen is great 👍
I bet seeing that was so cool! I also live under a flight pattern, and I love to watch planes coming in.
Yesterday here in Düsseldorf, Germany a A380 had 2 go-arounds and after that, it had to fly a holding pattern for more than half an hour, because the airport was closed due to a thunderstorm associated with Pia.
Wow , that is crazy , thanks for letting us know . I would love to visit Germany for a few streams at some point 👍
God damn that massive beast just looks majestic fr
Love the A380. Best of all and been on hundreds of flights since first DC9 in 1961.
OMG! I felt for all on board. Bravo to the pilot.
Well said Kathy 👍
Amazing. Well done, Pilot and First Officer.
Must have been a bloody nightmare being a passenger on that flight. Anyway, I take my hat off to the pilot - well done!!!
Agree with you Ian , the pilots done fantastic throughout a very blustery day 👍
Great video. I was watching it live too. I had friends at the airport waiting to board that plane to come and spend Christmas in Oz. So happy it finally got down and didn’t have to divert to Gatwick. From memory it was about an hour in total between the first attempt and the final landing. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you Stephen , you are correct the A380 was doing a "TourDeBrum" from it's first attempt to finally landing. Really appreciate you watching 👍
Amazing! In mid-February 2020 I had the scary experience of two go-arounds in a storm after a trip to Tenerife, landing on our third attempt…the first was at our destination airport Gatwick, then we diverted to Birmingham, couldn’t land there (this attempt was the scariest) so diverted to Manchester, and finally landed. The airport was closed and there were no staff to take care of us, so we sat on the plane for hours before being allowed to disembark. Then we managed to catch a coach to London, arriving home about 15 hours after we were due to, but for the sake of our safety it was worth it…thank you BA! As it was a late night flight I don’t think there was any footage filmed…couldn’t find any anyway.
Gee wiz I would of been screaming we are going to die,but yes at the end of the day SAFETY IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANT....HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU FROM BATHURST AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
@@shanelocke237 I was surprisingly calm, although my sister was not! Happy New Year to you from Devon, England!
Scary. Glad the pilots got a safe landing 3rd time lucky, hats off to them! Can’t have been a nice experience for the passengers
Scary ... but also with the way the pilots handled all arrivals throughout the day , it does give a massive reassurance of just how safe it is to fly 👍
Wonder how much fuel reserve they had left after that😮
Amazing flying, respect to the pilot 😎👌
¡Hermoso! ❤
That runway looks more suited to a tiger moth than an A380
It looks much worse on camera than it is. I've flown from there many times and you're not aware of the undulations.
Yes I'm sure it does - certainly doesn't look 3km long. The video is excellent
Brilliantly filmed...you captured the drama and the skill of the pilots really well
Thank you so much nandsall 👍
Awesome filming. Just being out on foot in yesterday's weather was bad enough, can't even imagine how it felt for the passengers on planes being buffetted about the skies in the storm yesterday. Massive shout out to all the pilots , awesome. 👏 👏
The pilots really done amazing throughout the day , testament to how safe it really is to fly , thank you for watching 👍
I feel sick just looking at the video .😮
Great 👍 video. That is a massive aircraft. Hat 👒 off to the pilots on a very windy day.
Thank you , and yes kudos to the pilots 👍
That darn wind....... Holding the camera steady looks to have been a work of art too. Hats off to you all.
Thank you Bertie , a lot more tricky to keep it steady when faced with over 40mph gusts. 👍
Thanks for the total control of such a beast pilot and the control room 💯🙏👏👍👏👏🙏 you deserve it guys fr landing.. live from Uganda.. Tayebwa Tomas....
Congratulations Kev & Airport Action on your superb camera work yesterday. Your whole stream was nail biting. 🏆
Thank you so much Elaine , it was tricky being blown everywhere , so it's nice to know you enjoyed the stream. 👍
A bit too zoomed in tbh
I agree, you must have twisted yourself into knots swivelling around like that! Well done. 😌
My favorite plane. I was lucky to fly this in business class 5 years ago in the top deck with Etihad, was an amazing experience. Hope to be able to do that one more time now that I know and appreciate more about aviation
It’s unreal that the pilots have maybe a second to make that decision. Crazy. And that aircraft? Wow. I’ve flown once on one. It’s a technical marvel.
Here Is More Than Professionalism The Pilot Did Exactly What He Must Do As He Has Been Trained To Do So
this is called professionalism!!🥰🥰🥰
I said it in the chat, epic stream and to witness this stunning aircraft attempt to land three times was phenomenal, my favourite aircraft. And I've got so much respect for these pilots dealing with these terrible winds. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Kev,Michelle,Chloe, mods and everyone else! 🎅🎄
Thank you Emma , your support is fantastic 👍, and we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas , and a happy and healthy 2024 🥳🥳🥳
Hats off to the pilot💫
Well said Sachchidanand 👍
This is an amazing landing.. He’s a good skill and well trained. well done!
Wow. I wonder whether the pilot says ‘nope, sorry folks, going to need another go at this’ on the intercom 😂
Attempt 1 he's too far off centre which is important if the wind sends it the wrong way. Attempt 2 was no go from the start, engines full throttle
🤣🤣...Richie 👍
Hi, I was on the flight with my family. Some sickness in the cabin and a big round of applause on landing. It was clear from inside the aircraft that the second attempt was going to be called off early. We were concerned that we would have to divert further south and not looking forward to a treck back from the likes of Gatwick, after travelling for the best part of 26 hours via Dubai from Thailand. Nice footage.
@@nigelcumberland3437 I’m so glad for you and your family that you weren’t diverted, that’s such an incredible pain to have that added to your trip. That said, also glad you landed safely in the end
@@richie_williamsa diversion would have been a pain but a safe landing is the priority so if it meant a diversion, so be it. First time I have ever had a go around since flying into Inverness on a Dan Air BAC111 many years ago.
Great recording! Those things are awe-inspiring! Amazing something that large can fly!
Couldn't agree more! Thank you for watching 👍
Respect people wo work in de traffic controller de r so organized than others
Oh my goodness.
Love watching the A380 fly in over the Beacon when I lived on Pheasey. Also have had the pleasure of being a passenger on it too.
Huge congratulations to the pilots here. Amazing work! #stormpia #bhx
I'd been flying for a number of years before I was on a flight that did this, there was no explanation from the flight deck and I was absolutely terrified 😱
Pilot certainly earned this money that day 😮
I fly on A380's often over the past decade...or should I say a little less now, replaced with the 787-9 Dreamliner...another amazing plane. Great video here. When the big bird takes off again mid flight - I cannot believe the power and the lift the A380 had here. That is incredible weight, and no doubt that was a full-throttle climb right there before us. Amazing. As far a pilot criticism, I believe that just shouldn't happen. Unless you are equal rank - or same level of experience, I believe it is not our job to make judgement.
I am sure that every Senior pilot would agree, every landing is different. Always massive accolades to the pilots and crew. Too many people consider passenger jets as Taxi Cabs. I don't believe enough Kudos goes to our pilots...that look after our lives EVERY flight.
Thank you for posting this Airport Action, well done. Cheers 👍
I believe that the pilots got into trouble for this.
You sound old
@@flyguyry1 - old enough to know better.
Same Manchester airport yesterday A380 EK20 A6-EOP
Great performance ❤
Thanks for sharing this stunning video beautifully recorded, thanks passenger for sharing your comment as passenger on board and thanks to experienced pilot for great sense of limiting judgment to save hundreds of lives and huge precious pricy investment of the airline. Thrilled to watch.
Really pleased you enjoyed the whole event Arun , thank you for watching 👍
Emirates has seasoned and good pilots. I trust their judgment! Glad he’s so good at this!
Don't all AIRLINES?
absolutely incredible work by the pilots!
I watch a lot of the airplane crash UA-cam videos. This pilot did it right. If he could not get it on the 3rd attempt, I bet he would have went to an alternate airport. Good job captain
An amazing stream 🙌🏻 watched it fly past my house so many times and then when it would go I would run back to the stream. It was a sight to see. I’m very glad that they landed safely
As always Aaayjay thank you for your support , that must of kept you busy during the hour of A380 attempts 👍
Years ago, I was on a '3-timer' at LGA. I knew what was going on and that it is almost always a sign of a good not a bad pilot. Not so another passenger when ran screaming up and down the aisle. I invited her to take a seat and kept her calm until we deboarded. Great photography!
Thanks Steve 👍
The 3rd attempt thumped the runway with a knockout punch!
I was a passenger on an A319 February 28, 2024 in Norfolk, Virginia and we did a touch and go due to winds. United didn't explain it that well to us, leaving us thinking something was wrong. We flew to DC and fueled up, and back to Norfolk, 3 hours late. All landings were sketchy and hard hitting and somewhat windy. 39 knots the first time and 22 the second. No other planes had trouble that day.
Thanks for sharing Zach , glad to hear you landed safely , after a touch n go ! 👍
I've been on the 380, it's absolutely enormous. I'm a nervous flyer. Thank Goddess I wasn't on that flight.
Me: Thank you pilot for giving me extra fun
Pilot did a great job. That wind was the worst type to land a heavy plane with, dealing with strong gusts.
wooooow that was what i missed this afternoon , i just love the engine scream
I want that engine scream as my ringtone fishypie 🤣👍
Good lawd. The climb-away is super-impressive.
Gotta like the gull landing just behind the A380 and squawking "what's the fuss about"
🤣... i just watched it back , missed that gull 👍
I saw that aircraft 3 times coming over stoke priors before they changed the direction of the runway after the storm proved too much
Thanks for sharing all of yesterday…certainly got me through my day at work!! I’m on the flight path 3 miles out so was good seeing them all come over…then land…almost!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for joining us 👍
Amazing! Hats off to the pilots!
Emirates had better be paying them well...
Brilliant catch Kevin. I am so happy to see your Subs climbing all the time, I have not had much chance to watch lately for which I apologize! Happy Christmas to you Michelle and Chloe. Have a great time and be safe.
Thank you very much Neil , we appreciate your support whenever you can tune in 👍
Have a fantastic Christmas Neil , and a healthy and happy new year 👍
Thats what a good pilot does
Definitely ziggy 👍
Great skill ,well done to the pilot nd crew....
watched this from from window while watching your stream was crazy..was a delay obz but glad he landed it
Thank you for tuning in mrphones 👍
That was pretty wild from about 1:10 . And you even get to see a little crabbing at 4:50 . Glad ya landed all well! Great job! :)
Glad you enjoyed it Dale 👍
To see a beast like the 380 being tossed around you know it's bad weather! I live 40minutes from BHX and I barely stepped outside yesterday, it was grim!
Hi Ralph , it was very blustery yesterday , i got home and the wheelie bin was at the other end of the garden 😮
@@AirportAction 😅
Excellent landing. Perfect! Just how it should be.
Wow, that is spectacular, Kev!!😮😮😮
Thank you Stuart 👍
one of the best videos out there. you can be sure they will use this in training classes
Thank you LAXPLANESPOTTER 👍
Amazing how such a huge machine is tossed about easily. Superb piloting. I knew you would have fun today 👍👍👍👍👍
It was a crazy day of aviation at BHX Robert , hats off to the superb pilot skills 👍
@@AirportAction Absolutely !!
It's incredible seeing something that size get tossed around like that. And just know, if it takes 2 or 3 attempts to land, don't expect a smooth landing. I wasn't surprised to see the pilots plant it down hard onto the runway.
Nice work mate. I was watching you live last night from Perth Australia! Squeaky bum time on that flight.
Thank you Bryan , really appreciate the support 👍
Live near Liverpool airport and the wind has been awful here. Every time I hear a plane making its approach I think 'glad I'm not on that'
To be honest I didn't know Birmingham was big enough to handle the A380
WOW!
Brilliant job yetserday - we were hooked!
Really appreciate you joining us Andy , thank you 👍
Great video work!! Great flight crew too...well done!!!
Thank you 👍
It is just so strange to me the an object of such weight can't cut through anything and land, but I have to remind myself it is designed to fly, not land. Great video!
Flew one of those to/from Gatwick in the summer. Landed at Gatwick in a slight crosswind and we literally used all of the runway (pulled off at the very last taxiway)
Beautiful capturing ❤
Thank you so much PLANEMANIA747 👍
Our Kev, on the spot as always.
Thank you 👍
What a bumpy runway that is so many peaks n troughs 😱😱
Yeah, that is one wavy runway! In America we like our runways flat. It's makes it a little easier to land without all of those hills and dales.
Nah it's because the camera is zoomed in and the low angle makes it look like that. It's an optical illusion
That really was fascinating to watch today, thanks for doing this video, can show the kids tomorrow!
Thank you Jo for joining us today , it was a great day full of surprises at BHX. I wonder who will want to watch it first in the Wolvo house 🤔🤣👍
I would be absolutely bricking myself if i was on there 😂
The best plane and pilots
And then everyone became a passenger in this plane 😂😂
4:58 Slam Dunk.
