I love that you finally got to this thing :) yours looks identical to my first one, but mine isn't called Game Player, it's called X6, and the only difference between yours and mine is that it says X6 on the black strip just below the bottom of the screen. I think it's kind of cool, a device having an unfamiliar name like that when we think we know what it really is. I've surprised a couple folks XD Though I think it's cool to have one like yours too, with no visible name at all. Like you've said, it's junk, but mine was an older model. Still have it, even though the file transfer thing finally froze the screen on the "updating playlists" screen permanently, the screen it shows when it's syncing data after you unplug its link to the computer (it actually can do that halfway properly, who'd have guessed?) I have a newer one called an MP5 Player, which I think is a much more fitting name for these devices. After all, they do what MP3 and MP4 players do, play music and videos, but also retro games. Not sure why your "games on demand" option didn't work, mine always did even on the older X6. Also, I've always been able to play NES, SNES, Mega Drive, GBA, GBC and GB games on the device. I was surprised when your device couldn't play the Game Boy games. Maybe the ROMs weren't all right, but who knows. Probably each of these devices has different minor defects. My MP5 Player is pretty good. Though the X6 could only play its own MP4 file and I could only make my files work when converting them to FLV format, I at least managed to make things play on it. It technically COULD play beyond 480p, but anything above it would begin to get slow and choppy, making the device's video controls lag even worse (yes, my X6 lagged in every way your Game Player did). Now, the MP5 Player on the other hand, can play at least up to 720p from what I've seen. It doesn't seem to do too badly with those. Though I think it's rather useless to go above 480p, because the screen is good, but not great. It's sharp enough that it looks like it's running at 480p, and not bad, but not worthy of high definition. I'd rather save the file sizes. Plus, the TV out is only composite, which can't touch anywhere near HD, so no point in using 720p. The games on my MP5 Player work better than the X6 and your Game Player. The GBA games are a bit choppy at times, but respectable. I have Pokemon Ruby on there and I never get frustrated with it. Gameboy, Gameboy Color and NES all run exceptionally. Mega Drive and SNES games are still kind of slow, but some games are playable, even Sonic The Hedgehog runs at a normal speed (but super choppy and with the sound channels not working well). Raiden Trad on both SNES and MD, on the other hand, is much too fast, which I don't understand, so...ahem. Yeah. They just do that with less demanding games, I guess. Also, the MP5 Player's buttons don't lag at all, yay :D One good thing: they updated the game display to include "scale" mode, so it looks normal size but still stretches to the proportionate screen edges. And the mono sound...yes, there's only one speaker on back of the device, if you look closely you can see the "real" speaker, much smaller than it looked like at first glance, hidden inside those fake speaker dots. But the headphones and the composite TV output, I believe they play in stereo. If they don't, I'll eat this UA-cam comment. It's cool how they keep updating these things, and despite my X6 freezing and my MP5 Player once going through a period where I had to use it on a TV because the screen kept displaying just the color white for a while, I think I'll get another one of these soon. I'd like to see how the operating system's adapted by that time and if it's even more powerful by then, like the MP5 Player is next to the X6. I'm glad this knockoff product is actually being improved :) it's like a cheapo version of the GPD XD Plus to me. Not sure what the operating system is here though. Another great video Retro :)
Forgot one last thing...did you ever notice greenish yellow motion artifacts when playing videos? I mean videos I transferred to my device (not the already included ones or camera videos) would have weird rainbowy colors pop up when things moved in the video. All the time, in other words. I researched the PSP some and found its native resolution was 720x480, and setting that for my flv files going to the X6 stopped the problem. I like how I worked around all these flaws XD sorry to stretch these comments so long lol
It's so strange to think there are dozens of different knock offs like this that all have relatively worthwhile emulation. Why aren't they in every liquor store on every block in the US? They'd sure sell enough to warrant it if there weren't all the legal issues. I bet plenty of kids would love a throwaway system like this to play older classics. Not even a year ago I was toying with the idea of paying $150 for a Neo Geo X just to be able to play Blazing Star on a handheld, what a waste that would've been. Then I thought about buying a replacement PSP for mine that has a loose battery slot. All those MD and NES classics are more than a worth having a good device for. I ended up buying an Xperia Play however and now I've filled it with so many NES, SNES, MD, and NEO GEO games that a week or two later I'm still braindead on what to play on it. I mean, you've got billions of dollars of UA-cam marketing basically for all these retro games throughout the Internet and the only way to buy them for the most part is through emulation devices like this, PSP, and android. How weird
It's kind of crappy, as expected. Still... Maybe it just needs to be marketed right. That's not a screen with a narrow viewing angle, that's a feature! It's a privacy screen for watching porn on crowded public transport.
My country just made a huge deal with China. Products like this one will flood the market and will make good low cost brands, cost a ton. F the chinese.
It's amazing how inconsistent those Chinese handhelds are in quality and performance. An 2012's Dingoo can run GBA properly out of the box and this PSP knockoff can't. I can only imagine that they produce stuff based on available components at the moment. - here, there's the parts, make them work together at the lowest production cost possible.
you have a genuine Chinese retro handheld .nes game emulator game player, video player use as a PC USB Drive for all your retro NES games. manufactured in China 2012 re-badged & sold under various names MP5 MP6 A4305 or PSP Note- this has NO wifi NO bluetooth, this is NOT a cell phone! -this will NOT play SONY games! only the case style is SONY.
I can put up with a lot of things. Low video quality, poor screen, stretched screen, sound deviation, mono, etc. But input lag is a deal breaker. Another is a bad d-pad.
Ah another crappy emulator device made from pure chinesium. I get these things are made for little to no money but they need standards still, if you design something to do a job make sure it does it.
does anyone have the game list of this particular device ? there is a particular rpg game in it that i absolutely adored when i was a child and i have been searching for it forever
It does have a decent sized hard drive & you don't need a mini sd card. I discovered whilst plugging mine into my laptop to charge, that you can transfer roms using the usb cable. I haven't used it for a while, but I think you can access them in the games on demand thing. Also, it plays original Gameboy roms ... you guessed it, badly. You either play with lag in full screen or with a tiny postage stamp sized screen. Oh well, it's cheap & almost worth buying just out of curiosity.
I built a Gameboy Zero and quite a few people have said why bother? Just buy one of those cheap Chinese multimedia things that you can upload old game ROMs to. Well, thanks for giving me the perfect reply!
The Chinese have even cloned the Raspberry Pi Zero. I got an Orange Pi Zero and gave up after about a week of evenings trying to get it working. Took me about an hour to get the Raspberry Pi Zero set-up and configured correctly.
They probably cut a load of corners which is why it didn't work. I'd never buy a Chinese knock off for personal use because they always and I mean always take the cheap ass option over quality. I learnt my lesson the hard way 20 years ago. So, all my Everdrive cartridges are legit. They may cost more but at least they will always work.
I got one just because of curiosity.... and ended up giving it to my sister. Yesterday I found a used PSP 3001 on a pawn shop, So I'm loading it with psx,psp isos and gba roms.
actually, this is a crappy machine, my cracked PSP is doing a better work on all that you tested. SFC isn't perfect on PSP but far better than this CHN THING ^_^ thanks for pointing another CHN sh*t that we must not buy :P
i've been seeing that same operating system since before 2010...still, better than a polystation (my old galaxy y android phone running android 2.x is far better but uh, let's ignore that in the name of fairness...)
I like how they went to the trouble of putting a picture of a PS Vita on the box and photoshopping out the Vita logo but left the PS logo visible on the left!
I need to start myself a Chinese knock off collection in the future Mark. Some of them have come a long way that makes me what to have a room to collect them . 8^) Thank you as always bro. Anthony..
You can get fairly beefy china phones for around $150, I can't imagine being that hard to cram some smartphone internals in that chunk of plastic and run an emulator, almost any phone with a quad core and 1 gb of ram can emulate retro games flawlessly. PS: just checked out the price, lol, but still, if they did that for like 50 bucks it would be kinda worth buying
Many years ago, there was a brand of mp3 player called aigo (means patriot) in the mp3-walkman era. mp3 mp4 mp5 may be mp6, the great "Chinese characteristics" !
Hehe, actually sold it within a week. All of these Chinese systems sell well on Yahoo Auctions. Japanese love this stuff as they don't see it in stores here and don't want to buy direct from China for some reason.
Sounds like a niche market for a business here then haha. But this is true, my wife always insists I never order from a Chinese seller, something to do with fear of hackers or something, I don't know, back in England I never had any problems personally. The only emulation 'console' I've owned is the Archos Gamepad, (can usually tell Chinese origin by the video clips that come pre-installed haha)man was ok, but overheated fast and the controller was rubbish! Oh and one of those AtGames Megadrives
I supose we can thank the bastards s at game sack for this sort of attention. Vapor Trail was one of my childhood favorites back on the genesis. The wonderful soundtrack stuck with me until today from bloody road all the way to vapor trail the soundtrack is a bitching piece of work that put tears into my eyes.

It's strange a lot of these rip offs try to emulate the look of a PSP. You'd think they'd go for something more successful to confuse buyers. I guess they're trying to tap into those people that want a PSP to hack.
RichardPlaysStuff The PSP may have only sold half as much as the DS, but still, a non-nintendo handheld selling around 80 million units or so is *_far_* from unsuccessful. Now, if it's based on the vita...
+fonarte the Xperia ZL2 has a 20 model camera. You can check out the specs online. The image size does not reflect how many Mega pixels a camera has. My Lumix Gh2 is only 16mp but will still out put a large image of 4752x3168 in 16:9 mode.
I bet there are 10 times more knock off fake consoles than real consoles. Sad eh? And hilarious as well as preposterous. The D-pad seems to be dead terrible. It's not Billy Jean, but "Beat it". I love saying that to friends: "beat it!". And hey, maybe it just takes 3 minutes to load Virtua Racing Perhaps a good video idea could be: "Top Three Chinese Knock offs that are worth your money" That would be cool!
You do realise that these videos are not the only content on this channel? These types of videos aren't even the main point of this channel, just something many people like to watch so I make them.
I kept it one because I'll sell the unit on Yahoo Auctions. I always sell on these Chinese knock offs and what's funny is that people on Yahoo pay quite a lot for them.
You woudn't imagine the sheer numbers of this crap that are for sale in Colombia. As for how many people would buy them, let's say there are more electronic appliances illiterates out there than you would think possible.
Oh, I can imagine it. Here in Japan stuff like this is a curiosity which is why Japanese pay a good price when I re-sell this junk on. But truth be told, this is just junk.
@@RetroCore I dont think it's in the video i had one of these I think I bought in 2011 .I haven't used it in 7 years . I anm trying to turn it back on . and was thinking it would be worth it to order a replacement battery . and I want to give it to my sis ( 11 yo) so she would leave my phone alone. lol . it cost me 5000 bdt. $50 when i bought it . she likes mario and metroid so yeah. just asking if it be worth it the repair wound kost me 2400bdt. or $30.
I have a very similar one Except that it is white and it doesn't load nes or genesis games (altought i have a genesis 3 now so that last one doesn't matter to me xD)
Ahh, never heard of that - I thought it was Mighty Atom over there, but it's Astro Boy here... It appears you have created a new fan-character amalgamation of them both. :P
The reason why I don't buy shitty products. I watched, and saw that the games fr snes, and sega do not work properly. I got to watch more of the crap you buy from china.
Is there anything good about the Chinese knock off systems ? Is any of them good, an affordable ? Is seems like the better the quality of emulation, the higher the price.
Retro Core ah okay XD then i guess its no fun having a good console you cant rip apart XD and there are alreasdy a million (good) reviews of it anyway XD if its just for fun keep doing the shitty ones!
A massive amount of chinese consoles like this can be bought in Russian shops since early 2000-s to now.
Not many Russians even buy those, considering you can get a used PSP in mint condition for $25-50 anyway.

The Chinese knock off manufacturers do have standards, just that their standards are pathetic :p

Anthony..
Just wait until you see next week's Chinese knock off. It's rather special but terrible at the same time.
What is the clip from a film at 5:20
It's from some Atom Boy CG Movie, I guess. I really don't know because it was on the device when I bought it.
Astro boy from 2009
But this is not Atom Boy but it is Astro Boy
Hey Retro Core, you've tested a lot of Chinese knockoffs and emulator systems. Are there any that you'd recommend, handheld or otherwise?
Micro drive is good but that only plays Mega Drive. Most of them are total crap.
Retro Core thanks!
Also, check out the HDMI Mega Drive I recently reviewed. It's not a portable but for a clone system it's rather good. Just a shame it has mono audio.
Hey mark the video quality on the psp knockoff is looks like mobile phone camera recording
Not sure why you think that.
Nasty set of headphones, brilliant.
great review but i hoped you fix the audio thanks
Do you think the background noise was too loud? Please let me know as it helps in fixing the audio problems.
5:20 is this the footage from astro boy?
Yes, I think so.
Hey, just so you know. That was not Billy Jean by Michael Jackson, it was Edith.
Yes, I think you're right there. My mistake.
In your opinion, what's the best handheld clone console? Do you own any jxd hand helds?
JDX running android. Android emulation is really good. Even Dreamcast runs via Android these days.
Retro Core great thanks! They're hard to come by these days for a decent price
at least its friendly and says hello at the beginning.
I did like the amount of Engrish on the manual , that alone makes it worth it.
I get tired reading those Chinese Engrish manuals. More times than not they are more entertaining than the actual product as you say.
5:21 clip from astroboy film
I guess so. I really don't know. The file is written in Chinese. It was already built in to the device.
Many years ago, there was a brand of mp3 player called aigo (means patriot) in the mp3-walkman era. mp3 mp4 mp5 may be mp6, the great "Chinese characteristics" !
MP6, hehe
the music from vapour trail on the md in fantastic! those pcm drum samples are amazingly clear.
Yep, a true example of how good the Mega Drive can sound.
'Hao Long' did it take you to get rid of it after you reviewed it? ....ill get my coat...
Hehe, actually sold it within a week. All of these Chinese systems sell well on Yahoo Auctions. Japanese love this stuff as they don't see it in stores here and don't want to buy direct from China for some reason.

OMG... where in Japan are you??? I'm sooo homesick seeing the picture you put up. it almost feels like a broken heart. Japan is a second home to me :(
I live in the Yamaguchi Prefcture.
Retro Core
so ya na. kansai janai no?
Nope. Kansai is pretty far from where I live.
I can't honestly believe Vapor Trail music made it into the retro mainstream.
It is good, that's for sure.
Can you list the classic games do you have right now.
No, I have way too many games to list. We are talking over a thousand games.
It means you don't have the Device
it's called a Game Player. Emulation put into products like this is common practice. It started with Arcade machines.......
I believe that is a Gamecube emulator. Why? Because of the game Egg Mania I see
i have one of these somewhere in a box, its a pretty decent nes and gameboy emulator, terrible sound but it works
6:47 what is this anime it Looks really interesting
That was Atomboy.
Pay McDonald’s prices and get McDonald’s food.
Might as well call this the POSP..as in Piece Of Shit Portable! Ha!Ha!Ha!
(semi-serious; even though I suspect the answer, I'm going to ask anyway) Are there ANY of these things that are NOT complete and total [CENSORED]!?
Sure. I covered a mini Mega Drive that was very good. Excellent sound and graphic emulation. It even had a quality screen.
You know the product is crap when it uses MiniUSB instead of Micro
It looks like shit....Xd The camera remember me the ones of the 80,s
Maybe even worse than that.
The manual looks more like a Take out menu..🤔
Yep. That's quite common with these things.
Retro Core keep the vids going!👍
i wonder "Hao Long" would it last.
About 1 week :p if lucky I'd imagine.
So, I just have the curiosity to buy it, but a lot of comments say that doesn't worth it.
Any recommendations?
I just want a portable console to run all emulators. I will happy for ever
You'll be better buying the RS-97. I heard the new version is faster than the older model.
Retro Core Thanks you very much, suscribed for the great chennel that you've got 😊
Thanks for subscribing, Josue Aguilar
this piece of shit is going to make a great gift for my cousins and nephews this coming christmas... ha ha ha ha

RichardPlaysStuff The PSP may have only sold half as much as the DS, but still, a non-nintendo handheld selling around 80 million units or so is *_far_* from unsuccessful. Now, if it's based on the vita...
This is obviously intended to be an imitation. U are getting it for less than 1/4 the price of the Sony PSP. What more do you expect?
it plays 25 year old games at 3 frames per second. whats wrong with that?
Everything :p
Who noticed the old iOS 6 settings icon
Yep, they're even too last to make their own icons.
This is not junk, it the same hardware and games than the nintendo switch.
You think after all these years the Chinese manufacturers would rip off an emulator that actually works!!
They're just lazy. The main reason is the CPU in these devices is so bad that it can't run a basic emulator well.
How is the battery life?
From memory I recall it being about 2 to 3 hours.
Please can you name all the games in that psp
Can you tell the classic games in at psp
List the games
Sorry, no time to do that. I also Jo longer own this device.
its not that great as your phone and didn't know your phone can take pix at 4k
The Xperia ZL2 can also take 4k video. It was one of the the first phones that could.
Dang,what garbage🙂Love the song at the end,cool tune🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
5:20 Yo, is that Astro Boy?
Yep
@@RetroCore I knew it!
even $5 knock off you review few month ago still better (i believe the color is red)
Yeah, that was. Just sole that on Yahoo Auctions too. It went for 2800 yen. About 15 us dollars ;)
lol from 5 to 15 nice, btw yahoo still alive i thought yahoo already dead ?
4k is 8MP not 20. MP is millions of pixels. 4k is 8 million
+fonarte the Xperia ZL2 has a 20 model camera. You can check out the specs online. The image size does not reflect how many Mega pixels a camera has. My Lumix Gh2 is only 16mp but will still out put a large image of 4752x3168 in 16:9 mode.
5:20 astro boy
I bet there are 10 times more knock off fake consoles than real consoles.
Sad eh? And hilarious as well as preposterous.
The D-pad seems to be dead terrible.
It's not Billy Jean, but "Beat it". I love saying that to friends: "beat it!".
And hey, maybe it just takes 3 minutes to load Virtua Racing
Perhaps a good video idea could be: "Top Three Chinese Knock offs that are worth your money" That would be cool!
I could just do a compilation video for the best Chinese knock offs because I no longer own the consoles. I sell them once the videos are made.
That would be great!
Do you want me to be a patron?, damn man, and what are you doing in order to get that?, showing this thing?, nothing new.
You do realise that these videos are not the only content on this channel? These types of videos aren't even the main point of this channel, just something many people like to watch so I make them.
6:55... Busted! :)
Yo put that a Castlevania that uses 100% of CPU thread on zsnes on my desktop computer... Not good SNES demo :D
So how long is it?
How long is what?
0:52
Take a look, then tell me I'm hilarious.
you could put a Pi Zero inside xD
Ah, sadly it wouldn't fit :(
I'm sure there is one chinese knock off handheld, which is suitable :D
Does....Does this even have PSP emulation? Doesn't seem like it
I emulates the look of the PS case design :p that's about it.
Is it Magnetbox or Sorny?
Neither, it's panthersonic :p
"Please peel off this mask"
I kept it one because I'll sell the unit on Yahoo Auctions. I always sell on these Chinese knock offs and what's funny is that people on Yahoo pay quite a lot for them.
At least it looks like a PSP and is quite shiny even though everything else is garbage, lol.
So true. Just looking at the unit isn't so bad but once you switch it on!
But truth be told, this is just junk.
what a great video and what a crappy handheld...that camera? there are no words.
The camera is truly awful. One of the worst I've seen in recent years.
It is a Chinese PSP with Gameboy games
Hehe, in away, yes 😊
dose it play snes.
I don't remember. If it did then I would have shown it in the video.
$50 when i bought it . she likes mario and metroid so yeah. just asking if it be worth it the repair wound kost me 2400bdt. or $30.
...man you've got really ickle fingers my friend...
One look at the icon for E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, and you know it's crap.
Too bad for SFC and SMD, the PAP K3 sounds better.
It is a shame that those machines always end up sounding awful.
reme that f..ing sticker
It's on there so I can resell the system. I sell all of these Chinese things after making videos. They always go for a good price on Yahoo Auctions.
it's looks decent
Nah, you can do much better to be honest.
A shame they're making a fake PSP, they're so easy to mod and so cheap to begin with.
I know. With a bit of looking around you could buy a PSP for the same price.
Retro Core Yeah! I did on eBay, what a deal. I play it every time I'm traveling. It's cfw too.. I love the world of psp modding.
Cheaper than a switch also have more games ;D
Saludos!
Hehe, true but about a 1/4 of the fun to play.
comparing this POS to the Switch is insulting.
I have a very similar one
Except that it is white and it doesn't load nes or genesis games (altought i have a genesis 3 now so that last one doesn't matter to me xD)
Yes, there are many variations of this device.
I want to go to japan
so i have then ordered junk!? or are you employed by Sony!? - lol, the consol will arrive soon
Funnily enough, my brother did work for Sony.
ATOM BOY!?!?
That's what he's called in Japan. I don't know his English name.
Ahh, never heard of that - I thought it was Mighty Atom over there, but it's Astro Boy here... It appears you have created a new fan-character amalgamation of them both. :P
I'd buy it.
top like, vim pelo canal coleção Nintendo
please tell how to play real psp game in fake gba psp
You can't in 99% of the systems. Only the expensive ones support PSP games but even then the emulation is bad.
Can i play snes games
Yes.
The reason why I don't buy shitty products. I watched, and saw that the games fr snes, and sega do not work properly. I got to watch more of the crap you buy from china.
Yep, I buy a lot of crap but sometimes (not often) the crap is actually good.
Is there anything good about the Chinese knock off systems ? Is any of them good, an affordable ? Is seems like the better the quality of emulation, the higher the price.
Most are total crap but there good systems out there such as the recent HDMI Mega Drive I reviewed or the Classic GB Boy (game boy clone).
I am definitely gonna try to grab he mega drive I soon to be released. But is there at good ones that are cheap, and play MAME ?
It would be cheaper to get used psp and better.
It sure would be.
Not bad.. but it is only retro games...
Yes, only Retro games.
looks like a halfway decent tablet ripoff
Looks can be decisive .
for the love of god, just get yourself a GPD XD instead, that's a GOOD chinese console xD
I don't buy these things to keep. I sell the right after making the videos. The only reason I buy them is for the videos.
Retro Core ah okay XD then i guess its no fun having a good console you cant rip apart XD and there are alreasdy a million (good) reviews of it anyway XD
if its just for fun keep doing the shitty ones!
Not worth buying, too many features that don't work properly.. not for fliming a wedding either.. Nice ending music for the vid by the way!
Yeah, this console is total crap.
Vapor Trail has some great tunes on in.
Leonardo Antonio Unless you want your wedding to look like it was recorded with a webcam in 2001 lol
Why lot of chineese products is very cheap?????
Because they are made with cheap components plus these are bought directly from China which cuts out the middle man.
because Chinese people are cheap lol
take the sticker off the screen already
I kept it on because I'd already sold the machine. If I wasn't selling it I'd take that screen cover off fore sure.
It’s a psp knock off
Yep, mist if these Chinese clones look like a PSP if some kind.
Retro Core except It’s similar to the real PSP
