Watching at 1.75 speed and loving the music! Also, has anyone else noticed that Giovanni is so underrated? I can barely find any YT review videos on their products! But for about 6 months I have been using the Giovanni 2Chic Ultra Volume with tangerine and papaya line (orange bottles) and woo mama I am loving it! And they have several more lines for curlies that I'd like to try too!
Giovanni is my favorite for stylers. Their foams/mousses are the best for fine wavy hair! Fluffy wavy hair is glorious! Try the foams/mousses in lieu of the gel. 💜
Yes! The Giovanni Air Turbo Charged foam is my only styler (plus hairspray). I have 2a - 2c hair, and an oily scalp and skin, and I used to wash my hair every day. Over the past year of figuring out that I have wavy hair, I’ve been able to stretch that to 3 or 4 days, with nightly dry shampoo. And now, I don’t even need to refresh until day 4, and I still have defined waves. It’s bananas!
I just got the spray, serum and conditioner. I LOVE them. Theyre not rhe most moist but theyre not heavy and waxy which i hate. Theyre light, fresh smelling etc my hair feels so much better imo. So ill stick w them for now.
I'd love to see you try Eva NYC. It's been a good budget brand for my hair. I use the mane magic 10-in-1 line. And I think they just added a mask/deep conditioner to that line. I haven't used the gels so I'm not sure which to direct you to.
I have been using Giovanni's eco chic products for years. So glad to see it in your one brand wash day series! I have the leave-in in my hair right now!

Giovani LA gel is my go to. It really agrees with my hair. I just wish it worked better in high humidity weather. It looks like it really agrees with your hair too!!
superb gel small but powerful tried tons that just cause acne , dandruff and dry skin . I would like to know if this leave in conditioner make hair wet look ?
I want to let you know that I think you are absolutely adorable! I love watching you and your videos more than any others because you are a true wavy/curly girl! I am 65 and believe it or not, just discovered that I am also a wavy/ curly person. I do struggle with the straighter sections of my hair and would love to see you address this issue in a future video! Thank you
I keep coming back to this gel after trying other products. It’s just so dang reliable and I can get it at a regular non-crunchy grocery store! I haven’t had the dryness problem but my hair is so prone to getting over-moisturized that I’ve given up conditioner entirely if I’m styling it. I’ve paired this with Jessicurl Spiralicious and gotten a nice balance of hold and softness. And yeah, the day 2 improvement is something I’ve seen too. (A suggestion for a companion series - tools and techniques? You’ve shared a ton over the years but it would be cool to see something done the same way as these one-brand videos, eliminating other variables as much as possible.)
Your comment on conditioning up to the scalp makes sense. I have an oily face, but keeping it moisturized keeps my skin from getting too dry & producing more oil to compensate. Why not the scalp too.
I actually prefer the tea tree tingle conditioner for its gel texture, light, airy and so shiny. Its probably my favorite conditioner(not deep conditioner) ever...
I use the Tee Tree shampoo and conditioner once a week (along with the mousse in the purple bottle.) My hairdresser says they are too harsh but I really love them and my results are always good.
@emeroconnor8237 exactly I love the foam in the orange bottle and want to compare to the purple one. I'm tempted to get them all but want a review first
I’ve been using the Giovanni Curl Habit Defining Hair Mousse in the purple bottle and have been really happy with it. I haven’t tried the orange one, though, so I can’t compare.
Yes! Ive been randomly asking this across social media since Curl Habit was released last year. My brain does not understand the complete silence from the wavy/curly influencers regarding Curl Habit. Makes me suspicious of sponsorships/contracts. Hmm. I mean, Giovanni hasnt been in the news so cant be anything bad about them. It's odd. (Edit: it also cant be about whats CGM vs whats not, because almost every influencer includes non CGM now since a lot of CGM has been debunked).
Crazy timing! On a whim yesterday, I decided to pull my Giovanni Smooth as Silk shampoo & conditioner off the shelf. It had been so long since that last time I had used them and I totally forgot how slippery good the conditioner is! I followed with TréLuxe Hi! Definition instead of the LA gel because I'm just not a fan. 🤷🏼♀ Thanks for sharing! ❤
My hair is 2C, and I've found that it's a lot healthier since I stopped washing it nearly as often as I used to. If I'm not sweating or going outside too often, I can easily go a week or so without washing it, and it's fine. I'm very careful to dry it with a t-shirt instead of with a towel, and I brush it thoroughly from scalp to ends to distribute the natural oils quite well. I also wear my hair in protective styles a lot, especially at work - buns, braids. If I do end up sweating, then I do wash my hair more often, of course. Otherwise I can go up to anywhere from 4 to 7 days between washes. Mind you, my hair does tend to be quite dry as opposed to greasy, as you said that yours is. My hair's shoulder length and about the same texture as yours - fine but thick and curly/wavy. Thanks for sharing this video and others showcasing different products you use. I do like to use products that are from the same brand, as they compliment each other and work well together. I shall see if I can find either Giovanni or other products you've mentioned in other videos.
This is the only line that works for my hair. I also use the 50/50 and smooth as silk shampoo with Giovanni. I use the curlsmith curl cream before the gel. Get the best wash days!
Oh my gosh I am so excited that I was able to catch you. I live in Tulsa Oklahoma where all the horrible storms hit Saturday night and I’ve been without service for phone no power or anything since Sunday morning at 12 AM so I’m thrilled I got to catch you picked up a little bit of a signal. I love Giovanni but it just doesn’t give me enough moisture or Protane for my high porosity extremely thin hair, but I am glad that you did this video on Giovanni because they used to be one of my most favorite. Thanks for all you do.
I've tried the Giovanni curls line in the purple bottles and my scalp and hair did not like it. I don't usually have an itchy scalp but the shampoo and conditioner made my scalp itch like crazy. It's kinda scared me off of Giovanni. By the way, I love the bluegrass music in the background 😊
I tried this the other day! Had not used Giovanni in a while. Though I used the Smooth as Silk shampoo. Hair looked great at first but ends became dry and brittle as time went on. I am older with coloured hair. So far Jessicurl has been my favourite for 3 products. Yes I am trying it all out myself! FUN! Thank you!
You look like you have less frizz on day 2 vs Evolvh's day 2. The Giovanni eco style leave in conditioner is the only product with Aloe that I can use. I will try it with the gel tomorrow.
So sorry to bring it up, but I’m always interested in knowing the fragrance of a product if I’ve not used it before. A little description would be of great help. 😊
My hair weighs down easily-I cannot use the Giovanni shampoos, and the LA hold gel dries out my hair. Looking forward to trying Curlsmith next as per your suggestions!
I live and die by coffee 😂 beautiful results Courtney ❤ I have those products in my stash and haven’t used them up yet, I’m pretty inspired for my next wash day !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know your video is old, but I cocktailed Bouncegirl gel (has 4 proteins) with the giovanni gel. Not only did I get strong hold but my ringlets were formed. The giovanni gel doesn't have proteins in it.
That Giovanni gel is tricky to master! I really wanna try the smooth as silk conditioner. I saw your other Giovanni video where you used the smooth as silk as a leave-in conditioner. Does it work?
How does this gel compare to the Curlsmith shine gel and the Not Your Mother’s hard hold gel? Recently I’ve found that I really enjoy that gel but have very little experience with good hard hold gels. I have the same issue as Courtney does with cheaper drugstore gels- the bottle will says harder hold but it just disappears in my hair and does nothing.
I LOVE your videos but the music is too country & fiddle for me, distracting. Could be my spicy brain. I take full responsibility. I just turned the volume way down 😮
✨Check out Giovanni for yourself✨

One of my go-to's from this brand/line is the leave-in conditioner. It is great for not weighing down my waves.
I love their 50/50 shampoo and conditioner.

I like the rotation of more affordable/more high end/repeats of brands you did before and liked! Awesome and fun experiments 😊
Yay!!! Glad to hear this!! I really appreciate the feedback on the format. Helps a ton!
I first learned about Giovanni from your videos 5 years ago and totally love it. Good price and hair/scalp friendly! Thanks ❤

I can’t seem so find a good fit for my hair, cream, gel both. My hair ends up looking greasy after scrunching.

Try more of a leave-in! Or try skipping leave-in/cream.
Where can you buy giovani besides natural grocers?
Sprouts and Kroger have it
Walmart often has the tea tree shampoo

may i reccomend a brand called hawaiian silky?

Maybe because I live in a low dew point...
If you try it again, definitely layer leave-in or cream! That should help!
