one bike yes, two no. You can find good gas struts up to 1000N anyway, the problem will be without bikes to close it!

hey, im looking to get one of these on my t4 but I was worried about security - I know if someone wants the bikes bad enough they will but do you find these racks strong and safe enough for full time van living? to stop someone stealing the bikes I mean.

They are pretty strong even if builded just with aluminum. Only be careful to not hit a tree while manoeuvring! My bike is locked and so far nobody try to steal it. Anyway, as always, if somebody want the bike....

Excuse me for off-topic, but... How is it pricey to ship a whole van overseas between continents? Does it make any sense?
One way from EU to Canada with flights for 2 + dog was around 1800 euros.
