Your videos have given me the kick I so desperately needed. I always said 2016 would be my year to 'calm down'... I just wish I had started sooner. I cut up my credit cards the first day I watched your videos. I recently got made redundant from a job and company I loved and am still looking but I've been selling on eBay in an attempt to get rid of my credit card debt, so far I've made almost £400 and I still have many items to sell! I have set myself a challenge for January = no spend apart from bills, flowers and food. I am three days in and this is quite the thing for me! I normally would have spent money on clothes, make up, takeaways and a restaurant by now. I am so excited by my goals and when I get tempted to shop I put one of your videos on to remind me of them. Wishing you a wonderful 2016 and thank you so much!
Thanks Canna 😊 I've got some goals to set now. Savings & paying off some personal debt. I'm sooooo sick of the interest that you pay, it's just a waste of my own money! Wish I was wiser 3 years ago! x
Thanks for this video. I'm starting my first permanent job (I've had agency jobs for the last 8 years) and coincidentally have been trying to set my financial goals so this video came at the perfect time. Also as a subscriber that's been here since the early days, I want to congratulate you on the achievement of this channel in 2015 - what you've done with this channel in like 8 months is phenomenal!
My goal is to carry on saving with a view to buy my first property later in the year. Saving can be boring at times but it's amazing that buying clothes etc doesn't seem that important anymore.
Thanks for this video Canna! I too am a goal orientated person and love that you've shared your process of creating financial goals with us all. Keep moving forward in achieving your goals and in helping us. Y x
Thank you very much. I've just set my financial goals. Your videos are very helpful and motivational. Just by mentioning certain things I found that I really want to go for it and am now determined to achieve my goals. 😀
This was such a great and incredibly helpful video. I always just had the aim of reducing debt but this year I am setting them with a deadline in mind. It's almost like a goal to reach and I'm really hopeful that this time I'll be able to stick to and meet/achieve my goals. Thanks again and really looking forward to your videos for this year, you always give such excellent advice.
+mademoiselle Oh my gosh, thank you! I'm so pleased you found the video helpful... I am liking your idea of setting deadlines for reducing debt! Good luck! xCC
Such a helpful and inspiring video, as always. Thank you for creating this channel and sharing your wisdom on such an important topic!! Happy New Year :)
I have just set my financial goals, with dates being all throughout the year, all towards my fees for University and my dreams of travelling!! I am moving cities and am aiming to get a job down there as soon as I am settled in :)
+kateemann apologies for my terrible spelling and grammar... Little bit sleep deprived! I think I better add more sleep as one of my goals for 2016!!!!! xCC
Thanks for the video & Happy New Year! You mentioned one goal of trying to pay down a portion of your mortgage by a certain date, but it would have been more helpful or insightful to hear your other 4 financial goals (without being too specific/personal.)
+ScentJunkie03 Thank you, I did actually think about that however I wanted this video to be more about helping people focus on setting their own personal financial goals rather than what I am working to achieve....we are all on different journeys, so I want people to be connected and passionate about their own plans in life....xCC
+Sugar Mamma Yeah, understand that. I just don't know a lot about what my goals should be, so to hear someone successful like yourself list your goals would be very helpful for me.
Hello Canna, I wish you a very happy new year!!!!! I enjoyed your channel so much in 2015. You helped me in so many ways so a big thank you to you and wish you all the happiness you deserve. Love. Valérie
I use the incremental approach as well, I find the state of my energy body has a large impact on my performance though, I need to feel good like alkaline! I'd recommend a glass of room temp water with some baking soda, it even clean your mind. Yep I'm a wild health person.
Happy new year!! Quick question: how much would you say is a good amount of money for someone in their early 20s, with a full time job and minimal living expenses (lives at home) x
+Some One Hmmm.....everyone has different goals, situations and journeys to discover, so I would not worry about what the "norm" is....just focus on what you want to achieve and feel proud of. Keep up the work and focus and remember that the earlier that you start investing, the easier it will be! xCC
Thank you! And QUESTION: I've just started working out of university. I have zero debts and I want to start saving towards my first car. Any tips on how I can achieve this goal quickly?
so I have a BAD habit of racking up credit card debt every couple of years and during that third year paying it all off.. other than credit card debt my ONLY other debt was recently leasing a new car (I had totaled mine which I owned out right and had no choice but to lease) in a few weeks I will be paying ALL of my credit debt off but I was wondering if there is a specific way you'd recommend paying it in order to help improve credit score or just go ahead and pay it all off at once. I've noticed that my credit score hasn't gone up or down by much over the past few years and I really like it to jump 100 pts over time n stay that way
Hi Canna, just started watching your videos and love them. I have no debt other than my mortgage. Should I join the $1k project or use all my extra money (which is not much) to payoff my mortgage??? Thank you!! XX
I know it's a big ask as it's rather personal, but is there any chance of seeing a photo of at least one of the workings of your goals in your notebook to see exactly how you goal set (layout etc) please?
it could be done with hypothetical goals but in the same way she'd write her personal goals so that it isn't so personal and we don't see her financials.
Hi Canna, I'm a huge fan of your channel! Just a thought, is there any chance you could create a Facebook group for your followers? We could share budgeting tips etc. at the moment there is a real lack of Australian based support groups! Also, I'd love a video on superannuation! ☺️
Hi there please take a look at my video library, you will see superannuation videos... The first one is an introduction and I've copied the link for you ua-cam.com/video/CiyLFQxFM-0/v-deo.html And here is also the link to my sugarmamma.tv Facebook page facebook.com/SugarMamma.TV/ xCC
Hi Canna, Thank you for your positive and inspiring videos, which I've been following from the outset. I've just joined the $1,000 project, and it's going well. I was wondering whether it would be possible for you to do a video on long-term investment in ETFs (eg Vanguard Australia), both Australian and international? Having no previous experience in the share market, I am hoping that ETFs may be less risky than investing in individual stocks? Thank you again, and best wishes. x
+MMHazelnutLatte Good question! Because I look at my goals almost everyday (to stay focused and motivated) I pretty much can recite my goals off by heart....I think when you are really connected and passionate about achieving something important to you, writing it down is essential, but sooner after it is ingrained in your head and heart! xCC

Thank you so much for these clear tips! So very helpful ! I like the concept of revisiting financial goals quarterly.

I'd really be interested in hearing other goals that you set for yourself (eg your love life goal) other than your financial goals too :)
Loved this video Canna - especially loved Giuseppe pottering around in the background. Happy 2016 xx
Haha, thank you and happy new year. xCC

Happy new year!!

Whoopsie I meant to say, how much is a good sum of money for someone in that situation to have saved. X

What do you recommend to people who need extra income to achieve their goals?
what if you lose the notebook?
