    I left media after having to work on moderation. It's awful, social media is just nasty. It shows what large portions of humanity are really like and its horrible.

    •  Місяць тому +5

      Especially moderators are nasty. The controlling of speech is one of the worst things you can do. Creates echo chambers making the divides 10x worse.

    • @MiMiiViVi
      @MiMiiViVi Місяць тому +14

    • @Nick-B78
      @Nick-B78 28 днів тому +2

      True moderators AREN’T the nasty ones but usually the people operating as or even just tagged as ‘moderators’ are actually just normal people who partake in the group or forum or whatever and obviously have some sort of bias. This is what ultimately turns each group/forum (and then later the entire platform in some cases) into echo chambers.
      A true moderator would be someone who is totally unbiased towards either side of a topic and should apply the rules of the forum as well as the general rules of decency without hesitation. Obviously AI would make a fantastic moderator once it’s smart enough to be able to.

      19:27 I agree these guys should be paid more however I’d like to check if the figures being quoted in the comparison are actually equalised for economic disparity? No idea if that’s the right term but I mean like how people living in a big city might be paid more to do the same job as someone in a small town but then the cost of living in the city is so much more that you have to factor that in when trying to compare salaries.

One area I’d love for you to explore is the venture capital (VC) industry in Africa, particularly in West Africa. There are so many brilliant innovators and ideas here, but access to capital remains a challenge. The internet is reshaping communities across Africa, and Pipeline in Nairobi is a perfect example of this digital revolution. With affordable data and smartphones, even densely populated areas are experiencing a surge in e-commerce, remote jobs, and online education. It’s incredible how Nairobi is leading this transformation as the 'Silicon Savannah,' becoming a major tech hub in Africa. Our fintech sector is booming, especially with mobile money services like M-Pesa, which have set a global standard for financial inclusion a service even the US is still catching up to. The internet is unlocking opportunities for entrepreneurs, creatives, and tech innovators across the continent, and as access grows, Africa's digital future looks brighter than ever!

    Been following your videos for the past few weeks and just wanted to take a moment to say thank you! Fantastic job by Hannah, the amazing crew filming, droning (the original framing, color, movements, and finding the best light- i.e. 8:07, wow!), the montage team (the 19:30 composition is award-winning), and everyone behind the scenes. Top quality, clever, and well-packaged content. Thanks again, great job!!!

    The internet has positively impacted third-world countries by providing access to education, healthcare information, and global markets, allowing communities to improve their livelihoods and connect with new opportunities. It has also empowered local entrepreneurs, facilitated microfinance, and enabled the spread of important information, such as disaster alerts and health advisories, improving overall quality of life. It doesn't make it bad that "big corporations" are leading the way.
