Another great video steve. We have just finished building a st150 track car for my sons 17th birthday. He has loved building it and brought us very close. Now he has been watching your videos on you tube and has convinced me to build one like yours so I can see this costing me loads more. Great videos mate and cant wait to see yours up and running again.
Ah, a fellow man who always eyeballs the clutch. Never had a problem in 20 years of doing it. Plus you can never find the right bloody alignment tool when you need it! Top job.
Good result on that engine Steve. You went the right way about it doing the proper checks so you don’t get stuck with a stolen lump or one off a boy racer. I think you cooling issue with the air con rad really didn’t help. Might have been ok if the car wasn’t tuned and on a track but that extra power and driving style needs all the cooling it can get. I’d air con delete it and not worry but you probably want it left in 🤷♂️ it’s only good for the summer anyways.
Moving forward,, for a car being used a lot of times as a track car .. Do a complete air con delete to improve power and air flow and therefore cooling and fit a double core radiator .
Brilliant video. Interesting to watch. I'm looking to get a 2017 ST3 some time soon. Can't wait to see the engine going in and hear it crank for the first time.
Hi steve. Just a little bit of advice i can give you after just carrying out fitting a new engine too is to get the crank shaft postion sensor re programmed. Its a known problem for them to fail after installing a new engine as ive found out my self this week.
Replaced it with a genuine ford sensor after putting a one from STS on to find it was faulty. I then plugged it into forscan and programmed it this way. Itll be fine for a couple of hundred miles without being programmed but will soon break
Wow, glad you got a new engine AND it is from a 2017 5 door ST, I also have a 2017 5 door ST which has done 21000, I was told mine was the last of the MK7s off the production line. Hope it all works out, I felt for you when you had the blow up.
I own a 2016 stock Fist with just under 41k miles. Just picked it up from dealer after powertrian warranty claim. New block and new head. Both were warped and block was cracked. Hole one was taking in and burning coolant. Some of these 1.6 ecoboost are just giving out. It's unfortunate because I do really enjoy the car.
I can vouch for H-sport. They mapped my mk7 fiesta st2 to stage one then stage 2. Never had a problem with my car. In fact when going to stage 2, my turbo wasn't producing the right amount of boost for stage 2. So they reccomemdeed we turn the boost down so it's just under stage 2 and safe and reliable. Also when I went stage 1 I was looking for someone to remap it, I contacted them and within 3 hours my car was remapped safely to stage 1 (we do live quite close to each other) but still 10/10 customer service, even now I message then for advice and they are more than happy to help. Great video man! You mentioned the clunk when you change gears. Here in the states at least it is because the stock lower motor mount has so much play that the motor hits the firewall. I can t remember if you've changed that, you probably have. for all those people new to Fiesta ST's that should be your first mod. Keep up the good work steve. I always get complements on my Fast N Old t-shirt.
Thanks for buying a shirt. 👌 The mount clunk is a different issue. This clunk is just from gentle driving and shifting. To make the mount bang you have to really hit it hard. It is also impossible for the engine to hit the firewall. If it did you would have some serious carnage of other parts it would destroy in its way.

It's so funny to hear you call the 5-door ST "rare but not my cup of tea". All we can get in the states is the 5-door and we hate it! A late congrats to you for keeping this project alive.
Most likely reason in my opinion is that North American Fiestas were built in Mexico and Ford did not want to tool up for three separate body styles at that plant (we got the 5 door hatchback and the awful sedan/saloon which bafflingly sold well). If not that, I think the developers were trying to broaden the appeal of the car to as many buyers as possible. However, I don't think it matters; the people who aren't interested in the Fiesta disregard it due to its size and aren't gonna buy it two doors, four doors, or otherwise.
