I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR HADES II VIDEOS! Right, so I also thought you had already given a gift to my favorite horn wearing boyo. But apparently, we were both wrong. Please gift the boi. His keepsake is actually really, really cool. I love both moros and icarus and I'm glad icarus got gifted this episode.
With my future powers, I foresee that I will gift our boi in the near future (approx 2 runs). I tried his keepsake during the Tech Testing and it has to be one of the most unique effects in the game! I never tried if it applies on each Defiances ^ may be worth trying.
Ahahaha! I was hoping you would have that kind of reaction to Uh-Oh! Anyway, someone on another video suggested getting Uh-Oh as a familiar and I just love that tbh so I thought I'd share that idea.
"Don't take this personally, lady" she says, before playing a song specifically written to insult Melinoe. I have to wonder what Chaos' Nectar/Ambrosia cabinet looks like. Probably something ever-shifting and partially organic. Also, I love how you can hear the loud sweating in Odysseus' voice when he turns down Mel's offer of bath salts. "No offense meant, Goddess, but if your cousin Artemis finds out I entered a bathing pool with you then she is going to find a way to kill me again. Likely painfully, and involving animals somehow. Have you heard of the hunter Actaeon, by any chance?"
I would've guess before, Chaos just kept it in a vacuum of space, but overtime, they started having amalgamated furnitures similar to how their clothes have faces breaking off. I read that last bit with Od's voice. Just perfect.
@@Hamstir4 I suspect their recent makeover and notable voice shifting is their attempt to be more connected to their daughter and grandkids. Hence the Fury-style wings.
10:39 Aw, I like seeing Hecate being vulnerable with her feelings. It's such a stark contrast to Hades and Nyx and the first game. 15:35 With that line, I like think imagine that Chaos never drinks any of the Nectar that's gifted to them, rather, they just keep it on a shelf that they occasionally look at. 18:25 No Mel, you have not offended it. It's the Tiny Vermin, it's just evil. 27:55 Possibly hinting that she's Pandora? Pandora's life, and subsequent death, would have been fairly early in human history, since the whole Pandora's Box situation was a punishment from the gods against Prometheus for giving fire to humans. 31:10 I love how the camera only barely pans up high enough to get Hecate's hat off the screen. 33:50 I mean, it makes sense, in addition to being the Goddess of Magic, Hecate is also the Goddess of Crossroads, but literal and metaphoric. So reaching a turning point in one's life, where there may be difficult choices, would be a situation where Hecate may offer guidance. 34:50 Maybe you can only do one hot springs visit per run? 36:50 Wait, where's Skelly? 43:00 Why'd Heracles say "He's not my type" like we just suggested he ask Polyphemus on a date? (At least, it sort of came off that way to me) 1:06:40 Under normal circumstances, no. But remember, the gods have been saying that Chronos has opened the Underworld's Gate, meaning there's nothing stopping the Shades from leaving. I do believe Icarus is a shade, mainly due to the fact that he has his wings, which he received only a short time before his death (a death caused by the wings falling apart because he flew to close to the sun) 1:18:30 I mean, I think they'll be at least a little bit lenient after Mel rescues them from wherever Chronos sent them. 1:23:50 So, it works like Chaos's Keepsake, but for the Daedalus Hammers. (which is fitting, since Icarus is the son of Daedalus)
Hecate has the greatest imposter syndrome, it really is cute! I can see it ^ also Chaos likely observing the concept of gifting, rather than the gift itself. Basking in that sensation and pondering. Kill it with fire! They're leaving so many crumbs that it's the Pandora, but I suspect when we find out, Dora is just gonna shrug off the reveal lol. LOL the magic of camera angles. I do think that's the case ^ 1 hot spring per run, alas. That is weird! I didn't think about it, since it isn't unusual characters just leave momentarily, but Schele should always be there. Possibly a bug that I once again, didn't report. But also, could likely be fixed if I just return to the room again. Now that you mention it, the people would like to know Hercules's type. I think your assessment on Icarus is good except for the wings. It doesn't look as waxy, may be a different design after the accident. I could be wrong as it's merely a concept art. I do think that's how Mel gets out of this one, the Fates will just let it slide this once for her service. That's a fine way to describe Icarus keepsake! However, if my memory is correct, Chaos's boon remains when you switch keepsake, while Icarus will fall off eventually.
@@Hamstir4 For Icarus's wings, assuming he is a shade, we don't know how long he's been dead, but likely several years at least, since he and Mel know each other, meaning he would have had time in the underworld to make better wings that wouldn't fall apart so easily. (The biggest issue with his original wings was lack of decent materials, they were literally made with chicken bones, feathers, leather straps, and candle wax.)
The fact Hecate rejects the comparison speaks volumes of Persephone. But Hecate is indeed a great mother ^ everyone else that talks about Hecate states how strict and cold. But when talking with Mel, Hecate elicits the greatest patience and hope for her adopted daughter.
There was something the Revenants reminded me of, but I couldn't pinpoint what for the longest time. Now I've realized that it could be a callback to the enemy Cells from Transistor! Nice of Supergiant to make that callback imo
Yes! thank you, the mechanic felt similar, and somehow, I just knew what to do. Transistors was such a great game! Also, the Erebus miniboss that shoots the pine needles reminds me of that one monster from Bastion that also spams endless needles at you. You can always count on Supergiants building up from their previous games!
1:19:09 you know, I don't think the fates have problem, in fact am led to believe they planned it, that not only Moros comes as message of doom, but salvation as well, and perhaps they will make more contact with mel through minor prophesies, through some loopholes perhaps, an indirect and intricate way to help mel help them (if that makes scenes).
Makes sense to me! It is likely the Fates foresaw sending Moros away to the Crossroads was their better chance than if he stayed to take on Chronos. It was in the Minor List for Mel to summon Moros after all, meaning many of this may have been planned out, rather than a quick act of desperation. Turning Moros from a harbinger of doom to a harbinger of salvation is such a nice arc for him. And I do like the idea of a loophole. Being expertise, surely the Fates know how to fashion their way around tight restrictions. They are one of the most powerful figures in Greek mythology. I doubt they're simply taken out of the story just like that.
The trinket of Heracles (you pass over it too fast during the run) seems useful : gain 30% of damage, but lose 5% after each encounter. Maybe with a "bad weapon", that can still make your run more manageable... Also who know how it change when upgraded ? More base damage and same decrease or same damage but smaller decrease allowing you to benefit from it longer ? EDIT : Also good job securing both Heracles and Icarus trinket in the same run. For your question about "how Icarus is alive ?", I'm tempted to think he isn't. Just like Odysseus, he is a "more powerful" shade, maybe just like Achille, Eurydice, Orpheus, Sysiphus,... in Hades 1. Yet for a reason or another, each of them still had their "human form". For some it's obvious like Achille and his guard duty, Orpheus for his musical skill, Sysiphus and his punishment,... Yet, there are some that are unclear, like Eurydice or Patroclus in Hades 1. In his case... Maybe it's because of his link to Deadalus and his skill, if the gods noticed it before his death, so it's an "aknowledgement" or because of a more sinister cause... like a way to force Deadalus to work in exchange for his son back alive (I don't think Hades will allow it but...... He did allow Orpheus to take a shot with Eurydice). Another idea that came to mind is Elysium. Maybe he was "noble enough" to get send there. Theseus is also a "human shade" and with Chronos keeping the gate of the Underworld wide open, he took his chance.
I did probably read it too fast, but at a glance, my mind likely filtered "Not what I'm looking for". I do like your idea that it can used for the wands lol, but if it's good on a bad weapon, it should be even better for a greater weapon! I do think the decreases will remain the same, but the bonus damage will increase! My guess up to 80%? I think your assessment on Icarus is spot on ^ the gates are open, and he can just fly out. At first, I thought every shade had their human appearance, we just have those green ghosts to simplify it all, but right, shades come in different variations. Glad Icarus maintained his human appearance.
