I was suffering from skin allergies and low energy my whole life until this year.. By the age of 30, I’ve tried all prescribed medications and vitamins, but nothing worked. My life was a pure suffering until one day I read a story about Niacin deficiency. (The doctors never checked for this, this is so stupid!) I bought a bottle of Niacin from Pure encapsulation because i was desperate to try anything. It was a shot in the dark, but it worked within a few days! I am shocked ! I have no brain fogs or allergic reactions anymore! I thought I will never feel normal again and now I am doing good! I am so glad I did not give up searching for an answer. Thank God. It is not bad to start a new life at 30

I am happy for you man. Man a couple of questions. Do you have a link of the product ? Did you have some intestinal problems too or only skin issues ? Did you have eccema or only allergies ?

@@El.Espartano Thanks! I tried posting a link, but UA-cam does not let me to post it. It is strange, but ok. I buy Niacin on Pure Encapsulations official website. The name of the product is Niacinamide. I had eczema on my hands, arms, and legs. Also, sometimes, I had temporary allergic reactions around my eyes and mouth. It started when I was 5 years old. I did not have any intestinal issues, but I was always sleepy. I had no energy to live normally. It is not very common to have this type of deficiency, I am still trying to understand why I have it

In the book Niacin The Real Story, I found out all what Niacin can do. For many times, I wasn't able to raise my HDL and reduce my LDL. Well, with 3g of niacin, 2g of Omega 3 and 6g of vitamin C per day, I could achieve it.. Ovoid statins, orthomolecular is the way.. Thanks for your videos, Dr. Berg.

Your videos are so useful for me. I go into a lot of these "deficiency" videos thinking that I am fine (most of the time I am) but every once in a while there is one like this where you point out the major sources and the issue of chronic deficit, and I realise I am very likely to be chronically deficient (my current diet has enough b3, but my previously poor diet that I corrected about 9 months ago) probably left me with low b3 (and although I am now getting enough for maintainance I very likely need ro supplement for a while to erase the long term deficit).
Just because one begins eating a healthy diet, it doesn't mean there can't be chronic deficits from the previous diet that won't be erased by the new diet alone. A healthy diet is able to maintain nutrients (otherwise it isn't a healthy diet), but it can't necessarily provide sufficient quantities of certain nutrients to correct a previous deficit.

    Excellent Video!
Commentary: Niacin also appears to be helpful for Post Covid Long Haul Syndrome and Bile Acid Malabsorption (BAM).
Tip: Another form of "flush-free" Niacin is called Inositol Hexanicotinate. Gradually increasing the dose until mega-dosing is achieved is sometimes necessary. In addition to Niacin, some individuals may strongly benefit by adding R-5-P (Coenzymated Vitamin B2), Pantothenic Acid (B5), and additional B vitamins. If you have been deficient for a long time, it may take a long time to recover. Patience is necessary.

    • @Music-gr2wf

Niacin plays a huge role on post COVID syndrome. I was a victim of it and I used up to 12g (12000mg) nicotinic acid a day to get rid of most symptoms, plus B complex and melatonin, aminoacids (glutamine, taurine, tryptophan, tyrosine, BCAAs, glycine, arginine, Lysine), probiotics, zinc+copper+selenium and lots of Ascorbic acid.
Lugol's iodine separate from everything else.
Everything must be in high doses because of huge deficiencies created by COVID.

    Sharing Dr Berg notes here:
If you have a niacin deficiency, you might experience the “4 D's”: dermatitis, diarrhea, dementia, and even death.
Subclinical symptoms of a niacin deficiency include the following:
    • Loss of taste
    • Metallic/rancid taste in the mouth
    • Loss of smell/change in smell
    • Face moves when you look in the mirror
    • Words move when you read
    • Unstable or moving ground when walking
    • Fatigue
    • Inability to relax
You need large amounts of niacin to address a deficiency. You can take either niacin or niacinamide.
Niacin is a precursor to NAD,
    (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)
which helps extract electrons from foods. This allows you to get more energy from the food that you eat.
Vitamin B3 helps support something known as sirtuins, which support longevity and DNA repair. L-tryptophan can convert to niacin, serotonin, and melatonin!
Niacin is very beneficial for skin health and conditions like acne and psoriasis. A niacin deficiency can cause very dry, scaly skin.
The form of niacin known as niacinamide can help with inflammatory conditions like arthritis. Niacin also supports healthy levels of LDL and HDL cholesterol. It was very popular before the development of statins.
Animal protein and organ meats are the best sources of niacin. You can also get niacin from spirulina and nutritional yeast, but look for nutritional yeast that does not have added synthetic vitamins.
There is a tremendous amount of research on niacin and cholesterol, the heart, and mood disorders like schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder.
A diet high in ultra-processed foods can lead to a niacin deficiency. Pregnancy, alcoholism, Covid-19, and certain medications can also contribute to a niacin deficiency.
    Thank you Dr Berg! 😺👍

I started taking Niacin (500mg) about a week ago to help my cholesterol. I immediately felt the prickly redness running down my arms, seemingly working on a 5-year bicep tendonitis issue etc. I've been struggling with. I can't explain it, but physio, chiro, osteo hasn't helped and it feels like a nerve pain no pain reliever will dull. I am floored that my arm pain is about 85% better and with each dose is improving. Tonight though I'm halving the dose as with our extreme summer heat, the prickly redness was a 90 min. bother last night. Thank you.

Dr Berg, thanks for the video. I have found the Nicotinic acid form actually erases my arthritis. Also, what are your thought on Niacin raising blood sugar and being liver toxic? There is mention of TMG to ameliorate this? Would make for a great video to followup this one!

Thank you! One question: Do you need to take niacin all at once or can you space it throughout the day? I was taking 3g, once per day, for high cholesterol and depression a few years ago. I am up to 1.5g now, slowly working towards 3g.

I had very bad large eczema on my legs and arms. Used steroid cream for 3 years. Stopped when I felt liver and kidney pain ( damaged by steroid). What helped my eczema to completely clear up is by improving my liver with milk thistle (NOW brand), vitamin E from raw sunflower seeds, NAC, Brazil nuts for selenium), 1000mg Vitamin C, krill oil, grapefruit seed extract and eat lots of cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale,). Have enough sunlight between 10 am and 3 pm for vitamin D3. Hope your eczema will go away.

Because of Dr. Berg I take B3 everyday and am used to the flush, feels like Drano for my veins :) ' along with all the vitamins Dr. Berg recommends for a 67 year old man. Though the cardiologist has me taking Entresto 2 times a day I am searching for a natural source to replace it. She had me taking other meds I had to stop from side effects as everyone's system is different. Instead of a statin I drink a whole red onion along with lemon ginger and tumeric carrot beet and cabbage all juiced with black pepper and cyanine pepper. I only eat veggies 4 days a week, no sugar at all and no salt. :)

So how much red meat do i need to eat daily to meet recommended intake of niacin?

    • @Drberg
      @Drberg  2 місяці тому

Besides proteins, red meat serves up a cocktail of vitamins like B12, niacin (B6), riboflavin (B2), and minerals such as iron. While I enjoy red meat regularly, I keep my portions modest (around 3-4 ounces per meal). This allows me to reap its nutritional rewards without overloading my system 👉 www.drberg.com/blog/the-single-best-food-for-healing-and-repair-is?srsltid=AfmBOorkIyrrnV_uFYrw1BY0RJalp2_e5bMn3Zw13Zyv-DgVHMR8RWuX
