In this video we will go balls deep to figure out if the 4 year old Ryzen 5 5600X is still worth buying in 2024. AM5 has been out for a year now and more than Likely AMD will be releasing their new 8000 Series processors in early 2024. But why bother waiting on those when AMD 5000 Series CPU's still kick a lot of ass!? Benchmarks, Gaming, and My cat Klaus...Its going to be Sicko Mode!

Cool I'm thinking of upgrading my rx 5700 xt to a rx 6750 xt. I think it will pair nice with my 5600x

@@hendrianggono2798 With that you could run 1440p. I mostly stick with 1080p mostly because I get a lot more fps. Maybe I'll go to 1440p and a few years. If I go 1440p I want to max my games out though. Not sure I can do that with how demanding games are getting
@@thomaswest2583 sure, I agree 1440p seems better choice.. but I have my monitor for long time and not really need for an upgrade yet..and I prefer having 100+ fps lower res than 60ish higher res for some reason..lol...

Got my 5600 at 4.7ghz all core all the time. Never breaks 65c usually 45-55 in gaming. Pushes the 6950 xt pretty much perfectly at 4k
Which motherboard do you use, and which one would you recommend?
For 5600/5600X I would go with B550 motherboard from any reputable brand in your budget. Do your research and pick one you like. If you can stretch your budget It’s not worth building new AM4 pc in 2024 it’s better to go with AM5 even if you will be stuck with integrated graphics for some time.

Great video very informative and entertaining at the same time.
I would save the money and get the base 5600. They perform basically the same and any framerate that diverts can basically be a margin of error, unless you love games like Rainbow Six Siege, or any game that's easy to crank frames. That's the only way I can recommend the X in good faith

@@Techomodehi , a conclusion better for a 1080 p , 4060 ti or 7800xt ? cpu 5600x
Your videos are great, but wondering about A/B testing between CPUs. You have recently done videos on the 5600x and 5500, which were great, but while watching them I was wondering how they did against the main competitor you mention in the video. Specifically in the 5500 video, I was wondering what the exact same system with a 5600x got in the same tests. 5500 might be great, but if a 5600x is $30 more and gives a significant uplift it could be better value than a 5500. Just a thought.
Best advice i got so far thank you for the video/info. currently using 2900 and dont want to throw my ddr4 ram and motherboard since ive been able to play almost every game with 4060 even running Helldivers 2 at ultra setting with 50 fps. but they say its on bottleneck so ill just replace the processor.
As someone who just bought an AM4 motherboard (it wasn't necessary but I wanted pcie gen 4) and an RTX 4060, I have been looking to upgrade my aging R5 2600. Does the 2600 still cook? Yes. But on the newest games it is holding my 4060 back a little bit (I found this out when I overclocked my R5 for the first time since I bought it 4 years ago). I was going to go for the 5700X3D, but I'm looking into the X variant of 3rd gen ryzen processors only because I also do some cpu intensive programs like fl studio and registax and I think the higher ghz x variants might be better in that situation. Good video, might cheap out on the 5600X based on its minimal losses compared to the 5700X
For RTX 4060 you should just go 5600x. Seen comparison between 5600x VS 5700X3D using RTX 4070. And even at that GPU level there was almost no difference. Even in the 1% lows. So for a 4060 there would be no difference. But coming from your R5 2600 to a 5600x will be a big difference. Only argument going for a 5700X3D is for future GPU upgrades on your current platform. 5700X3D will start to make more difference over a 5600x above RTX 4070/RX 7800 XT levels. Like when you get up to a 4070 Ti or 7900 XT.
good stuff to know
Why does rtx 4060ti perform just the same as my old rtx 3060ti?
I got a budget build, 600 euros for the 5600x paired with an rx 7600. I think it's amazing for budget options nowadays. I got a cooler too in that budget, running it at 4.85ghz and it feels amazing. I'm running lots of cpu intense games, especially albion online, I think it's good and it will stay good for the next 3-4 years

My AM4 systems all with 5600 or better are dropping like flies as I sell them off for AM5 deals. Just snagged new 7800X3D for $260 and $220 locally. At these prices I am pushing out my lowest end parts while I can still get $100 for them. Just swapped out my 7600X for a 7800X3D in my Media PC that can run 4k 144hz or 1080p 240hz. Paired only with a 6700XT so the 240hz 1080p option is a nice touch. I was getting 300-500fps playing TitanFall2 in the living room with full surround. Old game but still looks, sounds and plays amazing.
i have a 3700x and 6750xt (originally had a 1070) and ive noticed that the r7 is bottlenecking the 6750 so hard to the point where its around 70% usage on average, would the 5600x solve my problems

Need to know whats the best thing to upgrade
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
RAM 24.0 GB
Windows 10 Home
Upgrade gpu. Get a rx 6700 xt or 6750 xt for 309$ new. If you don't have that budget get a rx 6600 or 6650xt. If Nvidia then a 3060 12gb. It all depends on what you need.
Ryzen 5 5600 or ryzen 5 5600x with rtx 4060 ti for 1080p gaming/schoolwork/content creation/daily use?
The two cpus are practically identical, so get the one that's cheaper, and if you really wanna get the 4060 ti, get the 16gb vram version, and you're good to go.
I have the 5600x paired with a 7800xt.. is this enough to play triple A games and esports titles on constant 100+ fps? or should I upgrade to an x3d chip?
Esport games, your fps should be constantly above 100fps. To get over 100fps constantly in ALL triple A games, an x3D chip is the way to go cuz of that extra cache it has. That helps keep fps more consistent. It also depends what triple A games you’re playing and at what resolutions.
I have 7800xt and 5600x and it's true that in many games card runs underclocked being held behind by processor. There îs a good bottleneck that blocks my coreclock speeds and voltage.
For now i accepted this bottleneck cause it's still running pretty smooth but at the moment this gpu îs working at -10% of its total power. Gpu utilization goes to 99% but it undervolts it as it doesn't handle the speeds.
@@Techomode forgot to tell that I game at 1440p.. if the price is right here in my country I might get a 5700x3d
@@pR0ManiacS you won’t always get top frequency as this varies depending on game you play. I wouldn’t worry about it when your gpu utilisation is 100% on close to that. Your system is balanced. Also remember to use latest chipset drivers from amd website, adrenalin gpu drivers and xmp ram profile in bios.
@@Ornal64 in the meantime i've learned about this. But there's some bottleneck in god of war miles morales especially If you're using upscaler or afmf there's more workload on cpu, as You go down on inițial res and it pushes fps higher unneed a fast cpu. Buut: it's on paper and stats. Cause at 110-120 fps 1440p tbh there's no issue If it drops to 100 in some scenarios dur to this bottleneck. Exactly when gpu goes to 80-90% usage.
I've made some more investments :D bought a 5800x3d and another motherboard cause i wanted frontal type C from my case 4000d and faster ram. Hi, great Video😊. Would the rx 6800 be good with the 5600x?
If you play at 1440p it will be a good combo. At 1080p you will see some minor or major bottlenecks depending on the game.
I've got a r7 2700 with a rtx 3070. I plan to do one last upgrade on the CPU but still don't know which one. The 5600x is around 140€, 5700x is 175€, the 5800x around 200€, the 5700x3d is 260€ and the 5800x3d is 300€. Should I get the 5600x for a couple years and then upgrade to am5 or go all out and get the 5800x3d? Thank you!
Finnish off with 5800x3d or least a 5900x.
Does a 5600x with a radeon 6750 sound good? Managed to make a 1000 euro system with both of them. 1000 was tge max budget of the friend that wanted it
I bout this ryzen, B550I Aorus pro ax MB and the wifi sucks I keep losing the connection everytime windows does an update I suspect they replace the driver

Yes sir that's what i was running since a year now and Go for it if its for Gaming
I've got that same combo and it does a great job. If you want a little faster GPU, the Intel Arc a750 does great with the 5600x also, and it's my favorite for the 5600x.
I'm running this setup but a Radeon 7600 instead and it's impressive. I haven't play a game that has made me drop from max settings at 1080p
I'm new to the PC master race. built my first PC in july last year. So I was shocked to see benchmarks with GT 1080! I was shocked to see how good the 30series still are. and I was quite sad to see OLD games getting RTX, New Games not using enough RTX, new GPUs running games at 40FPS! I was shocked especially because some of those games don't even look optimized. It just feels like I didn't miss out on all that much between 2018 and 2023.... Still new to this whole thing, I think that the AM4 platform is designed to eventually pick up all the straggling customers. They know some people are still using haswell CPUs so they are keeping the platform open for those people and enabling them to participate even while the rest of world aims for 6Ghz and above
it's great that old games can get RTX refresh but it's pointing to a lack of development of new and good games..
100% 👌🏻. I bought one for my daughter about a year ago and she’s got it with a GeForce 3070. Runs everything absolutely fine in 1080p or 1440p. Would highly recommend.

Had a Ryzen 5 3600. after upgrading my GTX 1660 super to AMD RX 6800 XT I decided to replace my CPU to the 5600x on my b450m mobo. the price is a godsend for my budget. the 5600x for the price is a great pair with my new GPU. Totally worth it. if I had a chance to put money aside for a couple of months I would surely get the 5800x3d but I'm happy I opted for the 5600x instead and don't see any reason for another CPU right now.
great video dude!
I have a 3600 right now and have been going back and forth on what to upgrade the CPU to for my 4070. Was thinking the 5700x was a nice middle ground cause my x470 board isn’t the best ever. But then I saw the price of this CPU is like $100 right now. My big worry is 6 cores instead of the 5700x 8 cores. Most consoles are using 8 cores so will that lead to performance issues if I get the 5600x?
@@Dokify I currently have the Ryzen 5600X, and I’m still enjoying it since I bought it upon release. Since no one answered you, ryzen cpus are very sensitive to RAM timings and latency, to get the same score than reviewers you need expensive ddr4 memory with insane CL timings and clock speeds on DUAL RANK plus a good cooler or water solution.
It's even worse with ryzen 7000, they perform poorly with most commercial ddr5 ram available on stock and then the MB don't support the advertised speeds with 4 dims, so you need to buy only 2 sticks to get close to the youtube tersters, otherwise your ryzen 7000 might just lose a lot of performance.
Got a Radeon 5600 XT GPU. Is it worth pairing it with the Ryzen 5 5600X or should I upgrade the GPU too?
I would upgrade your GPU as well.

If you eventually upgrade your cpu I would do the 5800x3d if you want a good jump in Performance. The 5600x and the 5600x3d jump isn’t gonna be as noticeable. 1% lows will be better but avg fps won’t change much. But yeah I would ride AM4 as long as you can! No need to upgrade for a while.

Have the 5600X with 3060 TI and 32GB 3200Mhz and for the next 1-2 Years i think i will be enough power. Maybe i wait until Ryzen 8000 released for new Hardware
I think it is, I just ordered one to replace my bad 3600 . $100 on amazon deals .
Have a really janky water cooled loop including GPU. Hitting 5254MHz on most cores without playing with any settings so the R5 5600x is capable of punching above the "out of the box" advertised boost of 4600Mhz. Max temps can get pretty high so need to pay attention to having an appropriate cooling solution.
Just got my 5600x for the value I thought it was a steal it’s plenty of cpu for me upgraded from a 1700x so it’s well over due but my 1700x died on me REST IN OEACE lil guy
nice 👍
Thats 3 more lives than he has... the cat that is. Witch card do you have? 8 or 16GB version on RTX4060Ti
Its the 8gb version
I just got mine for $100 used off the fb marketplace
So its okay to buy a new Rx 6800 + Ryzen 5 5600x? (I am upgrading from ryzen 5 1600AF and I am keeping my B450 Mobo)
Yeah that would be a perfect gaming combination and a big upgrade from the R5 1600.
LOL this is exactly the combo I'm planning on building within the month. I am upgrading from a GTX 1660 and a Ryzen 5 2600. 😄
I ordered a Ryzen5 5600x and Radeon RX 6750 XT today, to upgrade my old Ryzen5 2600 and GeForce GTX 1080. Hope it's a good enough upgrade for 1440p gaming :o
@@as0k RX 6750 was my other choice to the RX 6800 and was going to get it brand new had I found a cheaper RX 6800 still in very good condition from a reliable seller. It is just behind the RX 6800 for around 10-15 fps depending on the game should also be great for 1440p gaming. Enjoy!
i got a Pentium G4560, and i play various games in high or mediom, i think that i need to upgrade and this is a good choice, i have a RX 6800 XT 16gb, so the bottleneck is very higher xD
Ended up getting a 5500 instead. It was selling for $120CAD while the 5600X was going for $180CAD. Figured I would forgo the 1440p gaming requirement.
My wife uses a 5500 and plays Hogwarts in 4k with a 3070 high settings 70-80fps. It’s an awesome CPU!
You can easily add 4070 Super for 5600x. Easily.
5600x/6600xt combo from 2022. Time to upgrade? 1080p gaming because old monitor
That’s still a decent combo. But if you upgrade, I would just upgrade your GPU, to like a 4060ti or equivalent if you’re playing in 1080p.
Thanks. I have decided on a 1440p monitor since it was the part that did not get an upgrade in 2022. Will try and see before what gpu is next
Finally a UA-camr that Lives in the world of Most people [Less Fortunate] like me!. Honestly there are some countries that exist some called Third world Countries, Tech runs slow and Prices are Insane high. Most of the time It is much cheaper to buy the Latest and greatest in the US than to buy some outdated Tech here. 5600 honestly is the creme dela creme of CPU Here in our country =[value for money]. Am4 components dirt cheap due to abundance. AM5 here right now worth more than it was first released on most stores! ^_^. Here if one will require more power than that [ 5600+4060ti ] means dude makes serious money out of it Or just Filthy $$$. Kudos you got +1 here!
what about from 2600x to 5800X3D with 4080 super?
What resolution?
Real good to hear, snagged a 5600x in a deal, waiting to get in the mail so i can continue Baldurs Gate, got to act III and its put a hurtin on nmy ol i5 4460
I'm planning to buy a ryzen 5 5600x + rx 5700xt. Is it good?
For 1080p gaming that’s pretty good. Especially for esport games. AAA titles would be just fine.
unless you have a 4080+ 5600x used system is only like 1/4 the price of 7000 and will do near the same, no need to $1500 upgrade unless you buy a 4080 or higher first
*So what happens after 3 years will this cpu not work on windows 11 or what?*
It will self destruct and all mentions of it in your history will get erased.
Nah it will still work on win 11. Probably won’t be able to play the latest AAA games in 2027 though. At that point the cpu will 7 years old. Who knows though, it might!
why my attention only goes to that cat
I just want to point that in most of games your CPU load was under 70% while GPU was 85-95% which mean GPU was bottleneck of your test. For tests like this you look to stress CPU more than GPU (need better GPU preferably top one)
Got the 5600x for 109€ so about 100$, for that price its a nobrianer when paired with existing x570 motherboard :D
im upgrading just now from ryzen 5 1600 to ryzen 5 5600x
I just upgraded my 2600x to a 5600x. I’m still rocking a 1070ti. Have not needed to upgrade it yet, I was just seeing a lot of cpu bottlenecks.
Yeah the 5600x is a good upgrade from a 2600x. A 1070ti is a great combo with that cpu!
I'm using 5600x with 3060ti and I still manage to run all games on ULTRA 1440p at least 75 fps (including BodyCam). Definitely worth it in 2024.
Im using ryzen 5 5600 should i upgrade to ryzen 5 5600x?
Nah not much of an upgrade. You would have to go to like a 5700x3d or 5800x3d to see better performance.
Is this cpu good for competitive PUBG gaming in 2024?
yes
I have a 3600
Recently got the 4060
Will the 5600x be a good decision?
It can help, for 1080p gaming. If you’re able to get a processor with AMD 3d v-cache that would be a better jump in performance. Like a 5700x3d or 5800x3d
@@Techomode yeah I am leaning towards the 5700x3d because here in India the 5800x3d is way too expensive
I just got a 5600 for $40 brand new.. my budget is only $650 .. should I build am4 with a rx 7600 or just go 7600 am5 without a discrete GPU 😂 haha
I have a 5 2600x and i ordered an 5 5600x Today. According to some Online Test It Performance 55% better
