Danny, there is a simpler way to remove the debris by taking out the cabin filter reaching in the slot and using a vacuum or even your hand because the fan is right there.
Thank you. I definitely learned something on your video. I’ve cancelled my appointment for this matter, I’m a lady and i can definitely do this on my own car after seeing your video.
Thank you i fixed my ladies 2012 honda civic replaced the whole thing it was easy! Bought the blower motor on amazon for 42$ worked like a charm thank you for your info!
Hi Danny I literally want to kiss you and the reason is that from the last few weeks I had a problem with my Honda Civic 8th Gen HVAC blower noise, this noise was like kir kir kir kir and intensity increased as the speed of the blower increased. I went to the mechanic and he inspected (opend the glove box as well) and in the end told me that the motor needs replacement, i told him can you do it today? he said no we are busy today and I will need appointment for tomorrow. I came home and was curious as to why the motor need replacement since the air flow is working perfectly fine. I searched on google and hit your video and did the same procedure and found a bird's feather stuck in the blower bowl. after removing the feather and assembling, the noise is gone and its working perfectly fine with no noise. I want to personally thank you for saving my had earned money, I pray for your success! love from Pakistan. I wish I could share the photo of the stuck bird's feather.
That’s why I have no respect for most mechanics most of them just want to make money off u and not care about helping anyone one. A lot of them have been like that tours me.but no every one is like that by the way thanks for this video old man ur the best

Nice! Mine is making a buzzing sound even on the low setting. Hopefully not a zip tie holding the fan assembly. Will try going through the cabin filter as well. Thanks Danny!
Thx Danny. I'm going to get to this eventually. I'm sure I have leaves and maple seeds in mine. I think the cabin filter on my Civic is behind the glove box...glove box drops down and the filter slides out. Been a while since I've done that as well.
Hi Danny my Honda civic si 2008 having a problem with heating fan is not working when i press on vent mode, vent and floor or floor those 3 thing heating air blowing fine but the fan not turning on. but if i click on the defrost the fan is working fine. and the AC mode is work fine for everything. do you have any idea for this point? thanks for your time.
@@dannysdiygarage Ok I will. Trying to change oil and the car fell off the ramp and is now jammed with the ramp under the car. Somehow the ramp moved and the car fell onto the ram and I am jammed and need a jack or some clever method of freeing it.
I have civic 2009 and there is a problem with radio. it turns on and off when it likes.replacing it can cost me more than 250 pounds,as i don't really need it,i left it as it is. Is there any diy magic test or solution for this? Thanks
I’m actually in the middle of removing my stereo and replacing it with a new one with all the bells and whistle, I’m guessing that a loose connection at power or earth, I would remove the stereo wiggle and tug on wire to see if it shuts down, I have a video coming out on removing the stereo in the next couple days if you need to know how to do this. Could also be the unit
Common issue with the radio I also have this issue from time to time. It'll just turn off for no reason or won't turn on at all seemingly the only solution apparently is to replace the whole thing.
@@dannysdiygarage I've got like "ticking" noises (or squeaky idk) only when on lower speeds (I probably cant hear it on higher speeds since the air is loud), just now pulled it out and its clean inside, tho, when rotating I can hear like bearing noises, is there any way for me to lubricate them or the blower motor is shut closed ? There is like screw on top, and like rotate shown on but it did nothing. Btw, great videos danny :)
@@dannysdiygarage Thats what I though, since its not that hard annoying and cant really hear it due to music im probably gonna keep it since brand new oem one is kind of expensive.

Great idea! Gonna dig into mine and see what's making the buzzing sound I have.

Loved the socket trick. I will be doing this small maintenance since I'm hearing noise coming underneath the glove box. Thank you for this video.
Glad to help
Great suggestion on how to remove those tabs without breaking.

Hey danny, Does the civic from that generation have a seperate heater, or is just equipped with a core heater?
Heater core system
Good video Danny. Like the 6mm socket tip.
Absolutely 👍🏼, I learned that socket trick years ago, but forgot about it until that moment
Thank You . I had exactly the same issue and it worked .
How could the leaves get past the cabin filter?

Nice trick with the socket!!
Appreciate you taking the time to comment, thank you
Great video, very helpful 👍🏻
Good job Sir
Thanks
The cabin air filter is behind the glove box, not behind that cowl door. 🤔
thanks for adding this
Wonderful. Nice info. going out to try and fix mine now.
Update me on how it went 👍🏼

Genius how you used that 6 mm to get the tab out!
Appreciate that, getting old has a few advantages, not many, but a few
pro-tip on that plastic fastener. 👊👍
You know it!
What is no leaves and it's making that noise?
Yeah, could need a new blower motor, link in description
Thank-you, Danny. 😊
Appreciate that Steven

Mine is squeaky at lower speeds 🤔
pull it out, check it and let this channel know what you found, we would be very interested in what the squeak was

I would suggest aftermarket, these should work fine, I’m sure amazon has them
