I did the timing belt/water pump when I purchased it two years ago. Recently I changed the tubing from the washer reservoir to the hood because it was dry-rotted. I only use OEM parts and fluids except for the engine oil. Hopefully it will keep going for several more years...

    Hi Danny, great video! I figured out how to do a total transmission fluid change, you know the hose that connects to the external filter that comes from the heat exchanger? You will have to connect a hose to it and point it to a bucket, much like changing the power steering fluid.
    1- Remove the transmission oil plug (it will leave around 3 liters)
    2- Clean the magnetic plug and put it back.
    3- Put new ATF fluid the same amount that came out
    4- Remove the transmission filter that is below the air box
    5- Direct the hose to a bucket, start the car and position it between P, R, N, D, D3, 2, 1. Go adding new fluid
    6- When you notice that there is new fluid going through the hose, turn off the car.
    7- Check the transmission level, change the transmission filter and return the hose to the filter.
    8- Work done successfully!
    Hope this helps!

    Thanks a lot for the video!! I have civic 2015. It had a problem for Air conditioner last year, it was checked by a technician(in Honda Dealer), he found no AC gas in it, it caused this problem, but he mentioned no leaking at all, so just recharged AC gas, checked it all day long last May 18 2022. It worked fine last year, but i turned it on this week, found that it's not cool enough for summer. And I checked pipes and connections, but i couldn't find any leaked on them. I am going to find out a good garage, but not sure it can be identified for the issue. Is it better to recharge AC gas every spring? Thanks! Danny

    • @dannysdiygarage
      @dannysdiygarage  Рік тому +2

      The best way I found to find a leak is to add die, go get it serviced with the proper amount of freon and have them add die in the system, when it stops blowing cold you can use a black light and find the leak, if you would like to do it yourself you can go to the auto parts store and buy freon with die in it, a black light is inexpensive, I have videos on this. If no leak is found with die added, its probably an evaporator leak, I have a video on removing that also. Never buy freon that says it has leak stopper in in it, this will cause more problems later on

    Hey man totally random question. I own two v6 hondas 11 accord and 07 ridgeline I have no idea if they have ever had a valve adjustment they run perfectly and I take really good care of them. Are there symptoms for needed a valve adjustment? I have come across many honda owners with very high mileage on their engines most well over 230k miles and most of these owners have never had a valve adjustment and they have been perfectly fine so I guess I'm just trying to understand how some owners make it so far without one and if I need one ?

    Danny, which oil brand and oil filter brand do you use or recommend for your hondas? Does it have to be OEM honda oil / filter?

    • @dannysdiygarage
      @dannysdiygarage  5 місяців тому +1

      I only use Honda OEM, In an aftermarket filter, you can't be confident that it's built with the right filtering material, and that the filter won't clog up prematurely. Honda engines have an amazing reputation for longevity. By using OEM oil filters and other parts, you can help your engine fulfill its potential. when it comes to oil filters, Even though they may look the same, OEM filters are typically made out of higher-quality materials due to the patents required for the manufacturer to produce their products. These materials are not always available for companies producing aftermarket filters. you can usually hold them and the Honda filter is heavier, and if you do this with an air filter its very noticeable, the Honda weighs a lot more.
