Just for clarification of Blake's Trailer, the reason why she left Adam behind is because of what happened in the middle of the Trailer. When Adam talked about setting the charges and she asked what about the crew members, and he responded with "What about them". Adam was willing to sacrifice innocent lives for their cause and Blake wasn't about that, so she cut the car to leave him behind. Thats about as much context I can give without going over things discussed in the anime.
It's always interesting to see reactors when they get to this point. I've probably seen over 20 people watch the trailers, and only remember 2 that really noticed that interaction.
I think it's even more than that. I doubt that she left him because of this only, I think there were more incidentcs like this before this one.

Rwby is genuinely my favorite show of the last decade. I love this show so much. Not to say it’s perfect, no. But it means a lot to me.
So, the rundown.
The Red Trailer was completely animated by series creator Monty Oum, who was in charge of the show’s fight choreography for the first two volumes. Unfortunately, Monty passed away between Volumes 2 and 3 due to an allergic reaction and now his friends and coworkers keep the series going. Currently we’ve just finished Volume 9 and are awaiting news on V10.
The music for the show is done by the Williams Family, Jeff and Casey Lee. This father daughter duo are killer and Casey actually took over for her dad in this latest volume. Casey was 13/14 when she sang for these trailers.
Blake’s weapon in the Black Trailer is called a ballistic variant chain scythe, which is a katana that collapses into a gun on a string and the sheathe doubles as a cleaver.
Yang’s trailer is actually my favorite (I love hand to hand combat fighters) and the music actually cycles through remixes of the songs from the other three trailers before we hear the remix of Yang’s own theme at the end.
If you do decide to react to this show, I’d consider pairing up some episodes because most of V1 is made up of 5-6 minute chapters/two parters and that makes for very short vids. This is due to the budget of the show starting out as basically whatever change they could find between the couch cushions, animating in Poser, and the animation team consisting of like 10 people. I’d recommend breaking them up like so:
Episode 1, 2+3, 4+5, 6+7, 8, 9+10, 11+12, 13+14, 15, and 16.
Also be aware that there are after credit scenes for finale episodes.
Also also, the soundtracks to each volumes are super good and give amazing insight into characters and are worthy of their own reactions.

Little note on White, her singing performance takes place some time after her (very real) fight with the giant armor. Her eye scar (which you see in her singing) is from when she took that big punch.
The scar is not from the punch, she has the scar before the fighting started. The only time we see Weiss without her scar is in her V5 character trailer. Plus, a punch would not cause a scar like that, which means it was most likely a slash or cut.
Is RWBY worth watching?
Absolutely.
The first 3 seasons have older animation but starting in the 4th it gets a major upgrade. However, what makes this show so great is the writing, the fight scenes, the comradery, and the MUSIC. Each season has a new song intro which was composed by Jeff Williams and sung by his daughter.
RWBY is such an under the radar series that reactors on youtube are missing out on watching and reviewing.

I can’t tell you a whole lot because it’s been several years since I watched it but it’s definitely worth watching. I think I watched up to the end of season seven? I know the shows creator died-only because I watched one of the special features on my DVD
@@brieezy. Season 8 is the equivalent of Avengers Infinity War. It has one of the most epic fights in the entire series in my opinion.
It's not dubbed, its an American made animation. Very worth watching, there's going to be a sect of "fans" that hate the show after season 3, but I think most people continue to like it very much. Season 3 is amazing, but some of the later seasons are my favorite.
Those fans don’t got the ⚽️ 🏀 to be fans till the end.
Nah most people don't like it due to rooster teeth pushing their political agenda so hard and failing miserably. I'm starting to not like it as much but I'm watching this shit till the end lol

Monty when he created RWBY created a "Color Naming Rule" for the characters in the series. For example, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee (Or "White Snow" in German) Blake Belladonna (Blake being an Olde English term for Black and Belladonna being a type of poisonous plant) and finally Yang Xiao Long (Or "Sunny Little Dragon" in Chinese). In addition each character is inspired by fairy tales. Ruby being Little Red Riding Hood, Weiss being Snow White, Blake being Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Yang is Goldilocks from Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Man, I still remember debating with my friends whether Blake was Beauty OR the Beast. I still maintain that's she's somewhat both.

I agree Adam is Gaston, but my friends and I figured Blake could be partly Beast since she's always keeping to herself, unlike the more outgoing Belle.

Hope you enjoy the show, it's an American production that was (substantially) the creation of Monty Oum who loved all things anime; unfortunately he passed away towards the end of making the third volume/series. He had already helped plot out the major story lines of the entire show and it is often dedicated in his memory.
At the start he had a small number of people working on this with him using basic 3D software - hence the blocky look and 'shadow people' in the background. But as it goes on the budget, staff and tech all ramped up.
Story-wise you really just have to pick it up as you watch, but it has a superhero underdog dynamic set in a fairytale world. As this was plotted out as a 10-15 year project from the start there is plenty of building plots going on and quite solid world building.
Fun things to look for is that practically every character is inspired by a characters from fairy tale, legend or classical stories; sometimes with more than one allusion and sometime only loosely.
I'm sure you'll be directed by others which order to watch things as between most volumes there are character shorts etc. that add to the plot; in fact these trailers are all prologues to the first volume.
There is a point made in the series that people don't have "magic" in the unrestricted sense. Instead each person has an aura (sort of like their soul) which they can channel through a single ability called a semblance (think superhero powers) and it also lends power to their weapon and can help protect and heal themselves to some extent. Beyond that they also use minerals called 'dust' for elemental effects like fire, electricity or even gravity. In the white trailer: Weiss was using a combination of her semblance that lets her create glyphs with various effects and dust to change her weapon's effect like creating ice or fire or being incredibly solid. None of it is considered magic because it's very limited and grounded in the physics of the world.

Sadly, the man who gave us this animation is no longer with us. He passed away several years ago, and he is dearly missed.
"Is it an anime? I mean it's on Crunchyroll..." That's a great question. People argue about this quite a bit actually. It was not dubbed, it was made in America (Texas I think). Funny enough, it was one of (if not the first) to be dubbed....in JAPAN. That's right, the show was so good, Japan picked it up and dubbed it into Japanese.

"Why? He helped you so much." It showed in the trailer. She asked: "What about the passengers?" and he heartlessly replied: "What ABOUT them?" She betrayed him to protect innocent lives.

Monty Oum(series creator) made the red trailer pretty much by himself in about two weeks.
If you do decide to watch this series, then I would recommend you watch it’s World of Remnant series. They’re basically shorts focused on world building, explaining some of concepts mentioned in the show.

"Red" was technically the only one to not be named in the trailers. Following her were Weiss (German for white, but without the V sound) said by the concert announcer, Blake said by the masked man Adam, and Yang said by "Red" herself. I guess if you want to know her name you'll have to watch the series. 😁
One Day, a talented young computer animator named Monty Oum had the thought: "What if Little Red Riding Hood was a cute anime girl who slayed werewolves?" and thus the Red Trailer and then RWBY was born.
"She's dancing with her!" Heh. Actually, some don't realize it, but the white girl was using feint attacks. Tricking an opponent to block one way, when actually preparing to attack a different area.^_^

Oof... poor Weiss, best girl with the best support during group fights... but keeps getting her ass kicked during solo matches XD

- The gravestone from the Red trailer is for Ruby's (the girl) mother
- Monty Oum, the creator of RWBY, was a martial artist, which is why the characters aren't just standing and swinging their weapons. 😉
- Weiss (white trailer, rhymes with ice) is sort of an idol, while she was singing she was remembering the battle against the giant. The scar you noted at the end of her song is when she got punched and was bleeding
- Blake (Black trailer) left Adam because of his response to her question about the train's crew. She's not willing to kill non-combatants.
- Most of the music in the yellow trailer are just remixes of the other girls' themes, jazzed up as dance music. (a version of) Yang's theme doesn't start until Junior walks out with his rocket launcher.
- yeah, almost everyone has transforming weapons of some sort.

The animation improves literally every season but even 10 years out the Red Trailer still holds up, IMHO.
Fun fact, the full song in Yang's trailer has a line that goes something like "watch me go Super Saiyan" so you were pretty on point with her character.
Weapon turns from gun to scythe: "it can transform into anything!"...
Rwby is definitely one of the shows in the world.
It's good at times, it's bad at times, it's funny, it's corny, it's emotional, it's interesting, it's annoying... it's a show! If you like it, you like it. If you don't like it, you don't. Nothing wrong with giving it a try!
White trailer: transition from concert hall to the knight was Weiss remembering the combat trial her family put her through to allow her to leave Atlas to study abroad. And the revolver chamber in the rapier holding different elemental effects. Such as the green which could air or earth, and used to wretch the knight’s sword free.
Black trailer: Adam was going to kill the train crew. Well Blake could not allow that. So,…bye bye Psycho!
Yellow trailer: well the song starting out is a dance mix of all the character theme songs. Blake’s, "I’ll Burn" comes when Junior appears. As for The Malachite Twins, their styles complement each other with the red one being punches while Maya (white) is a kick-style fighter. Maya obviously shows more talent than her sister going solo. But once Yang managed to elbow her and control the arm, it was just getting Maya off balance and hit her high.
Just as a side note, the White one, the fight was a flashback she was having while she sung on stage.;)

RWBY's in english because it's not a 'japanese anime'. It's actually a show native to America created by Monty Oum. Also RWBY was only recently added to Crunchyroll.
It's all dubbed, RWBY is an American made show, it got a japanese dub later down the line, people call the animation the worst not for the art style, but the actual animation of characters, like walking and such is very janky outside of the fight scenes during the early stuff.
This was because RWBY was a side passion project by the creator Monty while he was creating the fight scenes for rooster teeth's other production, Red Vs Blue. RWBY got next to no funding until season 2 and onwards, after Monty had passed away.

Fun director commentary with regards to 'Black', but the creators said there was a thematic and narrative reason for her to basically only become the protagonist of her trailer after escaping him.
Welcome to RWBY, the American Anime so popular they even got a Japanese “dub” over there. It’s a show I recommend to see for yourself. Yes there are some issues and some of the fan base is toxic, but the series has charm and I love it. The earlier season look a little dated but what RWBY excels in is the characters, the weapons (a joke for the show “everything is a gun”) the music and the fight scenes. And while the creator Monty Oum sadly passed as the second season was ending, he created a world that is one of a kind and one that we love. If you liked these then you will have fun in the show.
RWBY is hyper iconic amongst gamers of the early '00s. I LOVED the anime, but after binging the first 8 volumes of this original, I can happily say I'm a big fan.
So many people, when watching the Black trailer seem confused when Blake cuts the train cars and leaves Adam behind. They forget the one important part right before the fight with the giant mecha-spider.
Adam: "Move ahead, I'll set the charges"
Blake: "What about the crew?"
Adam: "What about them?"
She is realizing that Adam wants to hurt the people on the train and not just steal the dust shipment.
The fun of Ruby and Yang's weapons are that they both use the recoil of the gun aspect of their weapon in their fighting. And Yang's theme is at the end when she's fighting Junior with the bat/bazooka. Until then, its a remix of the other three girls songs.
The green slot in Weiss's sword was lightning. xD And yeah, in Blake's trailer, I actually really like her partner (sensei...lol xD) Adam's design and shotgun/katana more then her. xD
White: The scar shows the fight wasn't imaginary, it was in the past/a memory.
Black: Black didn't like that Sensei was going the kill the train crew with a bomb, so she separated the train car with the bomb from where the crew was and left.
Yellow: the photo Yellow showed Junior was not of Black
Without getting too much into the lore of the show. Ruby Rose's role in the series is basically The Heroine Destined to Save The World. That pretty much sums up who she is.
i love rwby, but it's a show where i think having the right expectations is important
monty (the show's creator) tended to fly by the rule of cool; sometimes he'd put something in without even knowing how it tied in (the grave in the first trailer is an example of this; he just thought it looked cool, it was another member of the team who suggested it being her mother's).
he unfortunately passed away before the show was finished, and the show has gotten a lot more streamlined, but a lot of the plot has been... controversial in the fanbase
all that said, the spectacle of the show is unmatched. if you're gonna get into it, get into it expecting a good time

Probably someone has already mentioned this (and if not, I don’t think this is a spoiler… or at least not too much of a spoiler); the grave that Ruby is standing at is her mother’s, Summer Rose. I can’t remember where I saw this, but on the headstone it says (supposedly):Summer Rose, the last rose of summer.
If you look at the grave in the beginning you'll see that it's empty, because they decided it was cool before deciding who died
The few things that many people can agree on about RWBY, is the characters designs, action, and music are all amazing. While people will say where to stop and what not? I personally believe its better to finish the series since the creator passed away a few years back.
Lol, not even everyone can agree on character designs, there are people that shit on some of the newer designs.

You've never heard of Rooster Teeth? That means you've never heard of Red vs Blue! When you get the chance WATCH Red vs Blue. At least the first 13 seasons, it's awesome.
Ruby and Yang are sisters. Ruby is the spitting image of her mother; while Yang looks more like their Blond haired father.
IT IS VERY WORTH WATCHING, let me explain. Yes in the first couple seasons the animation is a little wonky. It’s basically what you see in the trailers, but by season 4 the animation REALLY starts to pick up. By the time you reach the later seasons, especially 8 and 9, the animation is leagues better than when it started. As the show got more popular and Rooster Teeth got a larger team and budget the quality drastically increased. So if you can get through the first couple seasons the animation will just keep getting better.
Animation aside, the story is pretty dang interesting, and the fight scenes are choreographed amazingly. The music is also amazing. Honestly RWBY has some of the best music in an animated show I’ve ever heard. My overall rating of this show is 8/10, so definitely worth the watch. I’d watch you react to the series if you did.
I don’t want to say much about the show in case you do watch it, but it’s a adventure fantasy fiction with hints of science fantasy. Also, it is classified as an anime I believe, but it was made by Rooster Teeth (and Monty), an American studio. So it’s entirely in English.

Very much worth a watch!! And the animation inproves so much as the seasons go on, season 4 is like WOW but you can notice a huge change by Season 3.
Byw, all of the music for this series was done by a, at the time, 14 year old girl and her dad, if I remember right. These trailers are all her incredible voice, and she get better as time goes on.
The gir doing the singing for the sountrack was onlt around 13 at the time.

It's funny because in Yang ( yellows ) theme song I'm going super sayian now is one of the lines.
I really like the show, and I'm always looking for new reactors willing to have a look at it.
It's a great mix of comedy, good story telling, and ambitious animation. There are some very emotional scenes, and some of the foreshadowing is mind blowing.
It stumbles from time to time, *because* of how ambitious a story it is. And they just run out of time/funding, or get swamped by organisational problems.
Give V1 a go. It's easy to binge, some platforms used to have it as a single 'movie', which works surprisingly well.
You want your mind blown even more? Monty Oum, the series creator, basically did everything BUT the music by *himself* for the trailers. RWBY started as an experimental project, and it’s very clear in the first season. Once it proved successful, it got a major budget boost, which you’ll see in the second season.
In This show, every character has some sort of reference from either fairy tails, history, or folklore

It's a worthwhile show to watch. The animation style can put some people off early on, but it gets more polished as the seasons go by (the budget also increased as it became more popular). The fights scenes are top notch, but all the rest is also very good. I don't regret a single minute I've watched of this show.

Its a internet made show like heluva boss is they made by rooster teeth who also made red vs boue infact one the animaters from red vs blue monty oum created this show but sadly passed by the end of season 3
It has its flaws with many points where it lost fans but gained new fans as it did try get political in 2016 comenting on the election but its Not that bad that season had a fee weird writing choices and messed up some its characters ruining some beloved ones but the show has plenty redeemable moments bedore and has a season curently airing that may redeem it further it was not big enough to ruin the entire show in my opiniom

Nothing in the trailers was imaginary to them, it’s all canon.
Sorry if this is a bit long, but hopefully it will be useful...
Some people call it an anime... I've heard that in Japan they sell it amongst anime instead of in the section typically for foreign animations... But I personally wouldn't call it anime... Not to say that it's bad at all, I may even love it more for not being like anime (and I do love the show regardless)... But that's it, to me it is different to anime... The art style (not just being 3D, but the design), I can tell that it's different... The animation style, the storytelling... The music... It feels very much like a heavily anime inspired, but American, animated show... Which it is... Again, I love the show and to me I might even consider it a good thing that it's different... This is not me trying to gatekeep or be elitist, it's just that if you showed me RWBY alongside any anime, even without sound, I'd know it was a western show... I might not be able to pinpoint whether it was American or European as easily, maybe, but yeah...
That said, there is an actual short anime spin off show, which might be a parallel universe or might be set alongside the main story and we just didn't see certain parts in the main show for some reason... The first 3 episodes mostly recap the first season/volume, but with added parts, then it maybe takes place between volumes 1 and 2, ending at the start of volume 2, I think. I haven't watched all of it yet, so I don't know much more than that.
Anyway, while the show starts off somewhat amateurish and low budget, it has a lot of heart and there is typically a decent jump in quality between most volumes/seasons... There are certain forks where the fans get divided, like after Monty died the combat choreography and style changes... Later they move to what I'd consider a nice middle ground between the two styles, but you get some that hate on anything from volume 4 on maybe... Certain story and character elements bother certain people, while others love it... But either way, I recommend giving it a try... RoosterTeeth are pretty supportive of reactions too (although there is a good chance they'll claim any monetisation, they will allow unedited reactions... While automated youtube bots may block your reactions at some point, if you challenge the block or send them an email, they will usually unblock it within a few working days.
If you do watch the show, be aware that for the first volume, because of budget issues and the like, many episodes got split in half and they weren't the longest to begin with... You might want to consider doing the part 1 and 2s together or watching a movie version, where they edit them all together... From volume/season 2 onwards, this is not really an issue anymore, but you know?...
...By the way, can you work out what fairy tale characters they are all based on? lol.
Never ceases to amaze me how much reactors MISS in the RWBY trailers. and ask questions that would be answered if they'd just paid attention instead of throwing out theories and yadda yadda yadda. 😅
it's all part of the experience imo when i first watched the show i missed a lot of stuff then after rewatching it through different ppl ive started noticing stuff plus the theories can be so goofy which is what i like tbh lol

Let me just tell you you have made the best decision this show is fantastic and I'm excited to see your reactions to it!
It's not perfect but I do love RWBY. I would say if you're interested in it at all watch season 1 (all the episodes are really short early on) and see for yourself if it's a show you'd enjoy. The animation itself does get much better after each season as well. The first couple season's didn't have a huge budget but I think they did well despite that.

Oh nice, you're reacting to RWBY??? Honestly such a great show, though it has some flaws (but nothing is perfect, right?) Unfortunately it gets a lot of hate from people which it honestly doesn't deserve (kinda like Fairy Tail). But as for me I absolutely love both of those shows and hope you will enjoy RWBY too^^
Your comments about how the guy "stole the show" on the Black trailer were my thoughts exactly when this first came out way back when, and I always HATED that trailer because of it.
Looking back now, it might have been the intention to put a bad taste in the viewers mouth regarding Adam by having him be the more impressive one - to give the viewer a feeling of dislike towards him leading into the show given what all happens, but it still always rubbed me the wrong way. To me, after seeing Ruby and Weiss get their own time to shine in their trailers, I wanted the same from Blake's, but instead it felt like Adam was just taking half of the hype for himself.
Yeah the animation outside of fights can be pretty bad a good anount of the time.
Thats because Monty was the main animator for combat, and spent all his time on writing and animatings the fights.
So thanks to montys understanding of how the body moves, curtsey of his background in dance and martial arts.
The combat flows and has an anazing rythem.
The attacks feel like they have weight behind them.
After vol 3 they change the animation but monty passed away before vol 3 was released.
So for vol 4 and a bit of 5 and 6 the animation and fights struggle to find their own rythem. And take a dive in quality.
Plus with an apprent high turn over in animators due to other circumstances led to most fights not having the same quality.
They do get their own rythem and style but due to how long it took, and people comparing it to montys work, it falls behind and many fans stopped watching.
2:30 that was the animation genius Monty had. Sadly after his passing the animation quality took a drop and I watch only for the conlcusion now, the fights rarely are as exciting as the trailers anymore.
idk i feel the fights while they aren't made by monty anymore they have found there center for fighting n i personally like it

The animation improves every year as the budget increases. I just hope tgey get to finish this story now that Warner Bros owns it. They live for canceling shows
