Red trailer: The moon, like the girl and the monsters, was an early beta version. This was Monty Oum trying to convince his bosses that they could pull off an animated show without a big budget. The music for all four was written and performed by Jeff Williams and most of the singing was done by his daughter Casey Lee Williams, who was 14 or so at the time. Lots of variety in there. Guy is apparently pretty talented. He has continued to do most of the music for the show, and Casey does most of the singing. In the series proper, actual songs are used sparingly outside of opening and closing themes and the occasional big action scene, be he does most of the regular score music too. White: Casey is also the singing voice for Weiss Schnee, although the speaking voice is handled by a woman who was working as a receptionist at the company. Weiss Schnee is German for White Snow, and the snowflake is both the family crest and the pattern of Weiss' glyphs. Black: I forgot to mention that each of the songs was written for the character. In real life, having your sheath sharp enough to use as a weapon would be dangerous, so I guess it's a good thing they are living in a world of cartoon physics, eh? Yellow: Yep, Yang is Ruby's sister. Her voice actor is Barbara Dunkelman, who also works at the company and is notorious for bad puns. Yang also makes a bad pun here and there, and the proper response is, "Dammit Barb!"
Jeff doesn't do all the score actually. Alex Abraham handles most of the score. The moon itself in the Red Trailer is still canonically correct. It spins on an axis so it has a full moon side and an all broken side, as displayed by a beautiful shot of the moon in volume 5.
Jeff does all of the songs for RWBY. Except for "Until The End" from the Vol. 7 soundtrack, Casey wrote that one. Alex Abraham does most of the score, but Jeff is still credited on a lot of pieces so he helps out there as well. Jeff is amazingly talented and a very angry tenor. He's great.
What do you mean by the moon was in a beta version? Isn't it canon that it isn't tidally locked and has different stages? Fairly sure that the moon is different in all 4 trailers, and also appears full once in the show itself, Shining Beacon II if I recall correctly.
RWBY has a bit of a slow start, but if you stick around you're in for one hell of a fun ride! Also great job picking up on the little details like Yang struggling more with the kicky girl, this show is full of that sort of thing.
1: The name on the grave stone was Summer Rose, and the quote was "Thus Kindly I scatter." 2: Weiss Schnee is german and if you translate it you'll get her reference. 3: Blake and Adam were a team (in his mind a couple) going into the Black trailer, so he was taken by complete surprise when she decided to escape. 4: the two girls at the bar were early designs for the red and white, great designs but I'm personally glad he continued to update the characters. 5: The Moon! There is only one Moon, and all question shall be answered (eventually). The other circle was actually the sun just before sunset.

It's a bit odd of timing, but you can essentially infer that Blake leaves Adam because he is willing to kill innocent crew members and she is not. -In regards to the moon situation, that last shot of the Yellow trailer is a little misleading. There's only one moon, and yes, it's a bit cracked. The "moon" behind Yang (yellow) was more like just lens-flared street light. Welcome to the RWBY fandom! The ending of the Black trailer is a bit weird, until you get used to the amount of foreshadowing and open questions put into this series. Blake and Adam have a long history feeding into this moment.
Side summary: - Almost every weapon is multi function and a gun. - Recoil, It's a thing. - There's no such thing as Magic. - The sound track tells the story 90% of the time. - No Ninja's, just spies. - Yes, we are giving you shot-gun gauntlets.

You're probably the only reactor that I've ever seen who figured out why Blake left at the end, but didn't seem to understand it. Yeah most of the characters are either based off of or inspired by: fairy tales, myths, legends, historical figures, pop culture, memes, etc. and some have multiple inspirations, not just one. Red and Yang being sisters is explain farther down the show and there is a very logical explanation to it.
The scene with Blake leaving Adam behind, of course he could have done the jump easy, i take that more as the impact of her leaving him. That was a gap, much more important then the actual one, So thats a moment, the real situation and the emotional got intertwined in a scene.
This guy is easily one of the most observant RWBY trailer reactors I've seen. It's a really pleasant surprise. I hope he continues reacting (and puts two-parters for V1 together). EDIT: I just saw that he split V1 across just 4 longer videos! A+ decision, friend. Can't wait to watch!

I'm a simple man. I see a RWBY reaction, I click like. And yes, that grave did say Summer Rose, very subtle detail that a lot of people miss. I'm also impressed that you mouthed Ruby firing the gun portion even in melee combat.

Our Moon is orbitally locked so that we only ever see one side of it. The moon of Remnant is not. It rotates which is why sometimes it appears to be more broken than other times and since only about half of it is destroyed you can sometimes see a full moon like in the red trailer.

Explaining the powers in this show, bc I realized you were a bit confused about weiss’s power, so all hunters and huntresses, have 1. A unique weapon to accompany their fighting style, that may change over time depending on how they grow in fighting or how they change characteristically, and 2. A semblance, or unique ability which plays a role in the weapons they use. Ruby’s weapon, crescent rose, is a high powered sniper built into the staff of a scythe, and her semblance lets her travel at high speeds for a short distance in her cloak. Weiss has a rapier with slots that hold dust, a highly concentrated elemental mineral, in the hilt, and uses glyphs to not only cause force changes, but also summon familiars to aid her in battle. Blake has a multi functional sword that’s sheath is also a blade, and when unsheathed it could also turn into a pistol, and be thrown with a ribbon both for ranged attacks and to subdue larger enemies, and her semblance allows her to create a shadow substitution of herself. Finally yang, has shotgun gauntlets, and her semblance is the ability to dish out more damage the more hurt she is. Hope this helps a bit

I'll answer the moon for you- it's been basically blown to bits on one half, but it's not tidally locked like our moon is. So as it orbits Remnant, it can appear whole or broken (with the broken face looking significantly different when it is "full" on that side). It's probably a lore retcon to justify the moon as it was seen in the Red trailer, but it's fact, promise.
Adam wanted to blow up the train and Blake was concerned for the crew members’ safety and she knew Adam didn’t care about them. So she separated the crew from the other carts and ran from Adam.

Ruby (Red) is Little Red Riding Hood, Weiss (White) is based on Snow White, Blake (Black) is based on Beauty and the Beast, Yang (Yellow) is a bit more vague either based on Goldilocks or Rapunzel because of how she is with her hair. It seems to be the visible manifestation of her powers and she gets seriously pissed off when it gets damaged.
Attempted murder is a considerably worse crime than kissing an underage girl, yet people only squawk at the latter, not the former. Drinking age in the United States is 21 in every state, while age of consent is 16 in 32 states, 15 in one state (Tennessee), 17 in seven states, and 18 in the rest. Yang is 17, which ironically makes her legal in Britain, where our reactor is from. She could have been 18, or even 20, and still be old enough to solicit a kiss from an older man, yet too young to enter a drinking establishment.
You're totally right about Ruby being Red Riding Hood. As for the others, Weiss is Snow White, Blake is Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Yang is Goldilocks. They actually make a lot of sense once you get to know more about them.

Anyways, you said Yang's eyes turned green. That's interesting as the actually go red and makes me wonder if you have colored deficiency vision or if it was just an unconscious slip of the tongue. It isn't my place to know nor am I inquiring for that, it is just that if that is the case, I know certain colors blend together etc and can be hard to tell whats what n alls and i hope your enjoyment of this isnt affected much by that in case you are as majorly visual person like i am when comes to judging

I was trying to figure out if your accent was a New Zealand Accent or an Australian accent since they are similar, I haven't heard either of them to recognize the subtle differences flawlessly, but from the little I've heard I'm leaning towards New Zealand. I hope I didn't offend you.

Surprisingly, the moon situation isn't really fantasy at all, every planet in our solar system has multiple moons but us ... Saturn actually has 146 moons, it's the most though other solar system and universes may just have planets with even more we just don't know yet. Oh, you were right about white, her name is Weiss Schnee and it is German for White Snow to give you an idea of who she's based on.
Adam, AKA: Last name Lord, first name Edge. Good job on the quote for the Yellow trailer. A ton of people miss it because it's too long for the time available to read it. And yeah, it's pretty much what you thought. Notice that Yang herself is almost completely asymmetric in design. A lot of people mistake that for a second moon, it's just a spotlight. The broken moon on the other hand... That *does* get explained. You haven't seen the character Yang had a picture of yet.
A couple years late to this party but ... - the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon to the show. The Red trailer, being a proof of concept, is only partly canon. I like to think it was a dream Ruby (red girl) had. 8) - 80% of the singing on the OSTs (and pretty much all the female vocals) is by a talented young lady named Casey Williams. Her dad is the composer and does most of the male vocals - Weiss Schnee is the white girl's name (and yes, it's German, translates as White Snow 😉) - Adam was shocked by Blake leaving. - While the woman Yang is looking for does have dark hair, it's not Blake. - I think the lower 'moon' is just a light of some sort. There's only one moon and as it rotates you get to see more or less of the damage. - yeah Yang is based on Goldielocks (and she just beat up the baby bear, Junior)
The singer, who is the singer for pretty much all the music for the show, is Casey Lee Williams. Music is written and performed by her father Jeff Williams. She was 12-13 when she recorded the music for this volume. I highly recommend you react to the soundtracks after each volume.
In RWBY, true magic is something inaccessible to most people. Otherwise, people only have Aura (their souls' energy, which can prevent critical injuries while active) and Dust (a substance that can be used with Aura for pseudo-magic). People like Weiss use weapons that are loaded with Dust cartridges, and some Semblances (another Aura power) can be augmented by Dust (which is why Weiss's Glyphs were changing color).
the quotes at the beginning of the trailers is foreshadowing future plot points but i will not spoil for you, you are in for a treat! parts of volume one can be a bit cringe but it gets better later on, the show was trying to find it's exact theme (i could be wrong) just out of curiosity are you color blind? i saw her angry eyes as red, or it could just be a simple mistake, no worries either way, also yangs song literally describes her as "super sayin now"
Yang is named after the bright half of the yin-yang symbol. Yang is the masculine principle, it is loud, brash, energetic, dominant, initiatory. Opposed to this is yin, which is feminine, quiet, demure, passive, submissive, receptive. You can see why she has the name she does.
You misread the quote at the start of the Black Trailer. It ended with liberation. ETA: "Your hopes have become my burden. I will find my own *liberation* ." Not *salvation* . Close but no cigar.
Perhaps if you actually watched the show it would make more sense. Reaction video's are fine and all, but going in completely blind to any backstory to show why things are the way they are pretty much makes all that "chatty Kathy" stuff sound dumb. as people try to guess a meaning to something they have no reference on. Its a common theme for about half the reaction video's i've seen. Its like going to the movies with a girl who ruins it by asking questions that the movie eventually will tell you the answer to. It sounds impatient, annoying and many times full of dumb guessing. Not a rail on you, just a common theme i've seen repeated time and again. Being that Monty died 6 years ago and this series has been around for going on 8, I'm wondering why all the resurgence of interest. There are alot of reaction video's or first timers popping up lately.

I think that the best approach to entering the RWBY fandom is to just jump in and see for yourself how it is because in my opinion, the fandom has become rather toxic regardless of which side of the spectrum you're looking at. Maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places and you'll find your experience with fellow fans to be more positive than mine, but I figured I'd give you a head's up regardless. Definitely be careful of spoilers in the comments though. I've seen more than my fare share of reactors get spoiled for big events because the comment section had gotten a little too excited about the reactor reaching a certain point or noticing a certain detail and spoil the big reveal they were waiting for because they either went too far congratulating/clarifying something that the reactor commented on or were trying to be clever and thought they were far more subtle than they actually are. Other than that though, welcome to the FNDM, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
Black Trailer: Adam was going to blow up the train and wasn't concerned about the crew, Blake was concerned about the crew so she separated the front of the train with the crew from the rear with the cargo and explosives. I'll leave putting the beginning quote and the ending goodbye's meaning together yourself.

yeahhh either this guy has watched the show/trailers before or he already knew a lot of stuff from his friend, because no one notices the Schnee logo in the Weiss' trailer let alone the dust containers in Blake's trailer. I feel like most reactions are very honest, but this guy seems like he has already been told about this stuff. And I'm pretty sure about the fact that he knows the meme "he could have made that jump." and in his title for his Season1 part 1 video he references the "cookies meme" I could be looking into this a bit much but this guy is sus. I love his attitude about the show and everything, but it seems like he knew everything already. If I had to bet he already watched these with his friend.
Fun things to know. Yang may as well be the Nero of the series with the DMC reference. Strong and a bit brash but probably the smartest and most caring of the group. Also don't take that smile as an on the sleeve worn emotion. DMC reference. She has similar parental issues to Nero as well. I'd say family issues in general but hey her uncle is pretty cool. At least he's around when he has time.
This guy could build a house with all the nails he hit on the head while watching these trailers. Stuff that doesnt occur until far down the line or we don't truly understand until seasons from this point, and he is just guessing at them. This series is truly set up well, even in the trailers you get motivation, backstory, tragedies, personal relationships, and so much story in the little details in the songs, environment, quotes, words, actions, colors, music, everything.

Ruby’s weapon, crescent rose, is a high powered sniper built into the staff of a scythe, and her semblance lets her travel at high speeds for a short distance in her cloak. Weiss has a rapier with slots that hold dust, a highly concentrated elemental mineral, in the hilt, and uses glyphs to not only cause force changes, but also summon familiars to aid her in battle. Blake has a multi functional sword that’s sheath is also a blade, and when unsheathed it could also turn into a pistol, and be thrown with a ribbon both for ranged attacks and to subdue larger enemies, and her semblance allows her to create a shadow substitution of herself. Finally yang, has shotgun gauntlets, and her semblance is the ability to dish out more damage the more hurt she is. Hope this helps a bit

I'll answer the moon for you- it's been basically blown to bits on one half, but it's not tidally locked like our moon is. So as it orbits Remnant, it can appear whole or broken (with the broken face looking significantly different when it is "full" on that side). It's probably a lore retcon to justify the moon as it was seen in the Red trailer, but it's fact, promise.
In short, the moon's an even LONGER story....

Tip for reacting to Vol 1, watch the two-parter episodes together. The episodes are short for this volume and a lot of them are split into two parts.
Ruby (Red) is Little Red Riding Hood, Weiss (White) is based on Snow White, Blake (Black) is based on Beauty and the Beast, Yang (Yellow) is a bit more vague either based on Goldilocks or Rapunzel because of how she is with her hair. It seems to be the visible manifestation of her powers and she gets seriously pissed off when it gets damaged.
She's always been Goldilocks because of how much bears/ursai are involved with her.

yang and ruby designed and built there weapons to have massive recoil as a way to swig them faster or to move around the battlefield easier
You're totally right about Ruby being Red Riding Hood. As for the others, Weiss is Snow White, Blake is Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Yang is Goldilocks. They actually make a lot of sense once you get to know more about them.

Surprisingly, the moon situation isn't really fantasy at all, every planet in our solar system has multiple moons but us ... Saturn actually has 146 moons, it's the most though other solar system and universes may just have planets with even more we just don't know yet.
Oh, you were right about white, her name is Weiss Schnee and it is German for White Snow to give you an idea of who she's based on.

Good job on the quote for the Yellow trailer. A ton of people miss it because it's too long for the time available to read it. And yeah, it's pretty much what you thought. Notice that Yang herself is almost completely asymmetric in design.
A lot of people mistake that for a second moon, it's just a spotlight. The broken moon on the other hand... That *does* get explained.
You haven't seen the character Yang had a picture of yet.
A couple years late to this party but ...
- the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon to the show. The Red trailer, being a proof of concept, is only partly canon. I like to think it was a dream Ruby (red girl) had. 8)
- 80% of the singing on the OSTs (and pretty much all the female vocals) is by a talented young lady named Casey Williams. Her dad is the composer and does most of the male vocals
- Weiss Schnee is the white girl's name (and yes, it's German, translates as White Snow 😉)
- Adam was shocked by Blake leaving.
- While the woman Yang is looking for does have dark hair, it's not Blake.
- I think the lower 'moon' is just a light of some sort. There's only one moon and as it rotates you get to see more or less of the damage.
- yeah Yang is based on Goldielocks (and she just beat up the baby bear, Junior)
The singer, who is the singer for pretty much all the music for the show, is Casey Lee Williams. Music is written and performed by her father Jeff Williams. She was 12-13 when she recorded the music for this volume. I highly recommend you react to the soundtracks after each volume.

In RWBY, true magic is something inaccessible to most people. Otherwise, people only have Aura (their souls' energy, which can prevent critical injuries while active) and Dust (a substance that can be used with Aura for pseudo-magic). People like Weiss use weapons that are loaded with Dust cartridges, and some Semblances (another Aura power) can be augmented by Dust (which is why Weiss's Glyphs were changing color).

the quotes at the beginning of the trailers is foreshadowing future plot points but i will not spoil for you, you are in for a treat! parts of volume one can be a bit cringe but it gets better later on, the show was trying to find it's exact theme (i could be wrong)

Yang is named after the bright half of the yin-yang symbol. Yang is the masculine principle, it is loud, brash, energetic, dominant, initiatory. Opposed to this is yin, which is feminine, quiet, demure, passive, submissive, receptive. You can see why she has the name she does.
You misread the quote at the start of the Black Trailer. It ended with liberation.

Perhaps if you actually watched the show it would make more sense. Reaction video's are fine and all, but going in completely blind to any backstory to show why things are the way they are pretty much makes all that "chatty Kathy" stuff sound dumb. as people try to guess a meaning to something they have no reference on. Its a common theme for about half the reaction video's i've seen. Its like going to the movies with a girl who ruins it by asking questions that the movie eventually will tell you the answer to. It sounds impatient, annoying and many times full of dumb guessing. Not a rail on you, just a common theme i've seen repeated time and again. Being that Monty died 6 years ago and this series has been around for going on 8, I'm wondering why all the resurgence of interest. There are alot of reaction video's or first timers popping up lately.

I think that the best approach to entering the RWBY fandom is to just jump in and see for yourself how it is because in my opinion, the fandom has become rather toxic regardless of which side of the spectrum you're looking at. Maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places and you'll find your experience with fellow fans to be more positive than mine, but I figured I'd give you a head's up regardless. Definitely be careful of spoilers in the comments though. I've seen more than my fare share of reactors get spoiled for big events because the comment section had gotten a little too excited about the reactor reaching a certain point or noticing a certain detail and spoil the big reveal they were waiting for because they either went too far congratulating/clarifying something that the reactor commented on or were trying to be clever and thought they were far more subtle than they actually are. Other than that though, welcome to the FNDM, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

As for the moon situation, there's only 1 moon, and it is shattered, but it still has phases like the irl moon does, and one of those phases sees it from such an angle that it looks full.

My favorite part of Red trailer is the finale when Ruby poses and all the shell casings come raining down around her.

yeahhh either this guy has watched the show/trailers before or he already knew a lot of stuff from his friend, because no one notices the Schnee logo in the Weiss' trailer let alone the dust containers in Blake's trailer. I feel like most reactions are very honest, but this guy seems like he has already been told about this stuff. And I'm pretty sure about the fact that he knows the meme "he could have made that jump." and in his title for his Season1 part 1 video he references the "cookies meme" I could be looking into this a bit much but this guy is sus. I love his attitude about the show and everything, but it seems like he knew everything already. If I had to bet he already watched these with his friend.

Fun things to know. Yang may as well be the Nero of the series with the DMC reference. Strong and a bit brash but probably the smartest and most caring of the group. Also don't take that smile as an on the sleeve worn emotion. DMC reference. She has similar parental issues to Nero as well. I'd say family issues in general but hey her uncle is pretty cool. At least he's around when he has time.
This guy could build a house with all the nails he hit on the head while watching these trailers. Stuff that doesnt occur until far down the line or we don't truly understand until seasons from this point, and he is just guessing at them. This series is truly set up well, even in the trailers you get motivation, backstory, tragedies, personal relationships, and so much story in the little details in the songs, environment, quotes, words, actions, colors, music, everything.
Man, if you think shotgun gauntlets are amazing, wait 'til you see [REDACTED].
