MIG 29 Fulcrum is one of my favorite aircraft of all time! It looks good and has two huge jet engines you don't see on airplanes today. This was the answer to F15 Eagle and a big finger in the air from Sovjet Union.

There were 42 test fights between Mig 29 and Lockheed "the invisible" in which Mig 29 has won 41 times.
I'm sure of that .with NATO as well .fight in 50 dogfight mig 29 won 49 kill to 1 it's unbelievable real kill machine best ever close combat .
Years ago the Mig design team announced a world wide challenge to all airplane manufacturers to go head to head with the Mig-29 in a dogfight no one has showed up yet. Best fighter in the world !

My opinion is that the MIG 29 Fulcrum is the most beautiful and original aircraft in the world because it can be used in any type of mission and it can land on unprepared runways too... It's engines gets allways clean air when the plane is slower than 250km\h... My opinion...
If i get it right, When taxing, they close the main intakes to use the ones on the upper body? Maybe to not inhale dust from ground?

The upper intakes are open during take off and landing so no rocks or dirt gets sucked in that may cause the engine to choke.

Incidentally the music is pretty similar to the music in "Mig 29: Soviet Fighter" for NES. I loved the music in that game, it pretty much made the game.
Damn, i must admit that i am very prone to American aircraft, but the MiG-29 is the exception here. This aircraft is beautiful, fast and manuverable as hell.

Apples-to-apples comparison please.
The MiG-29 was developed as a counter to the F-16 (both are light-weight, multi-role, frontline based fighters). The F-22 is more in class with the Sukhoi S-37 Berkut (NATO-codename Firkin) or more likely the Sukhoi T-50 (PAK-FA) which are larger air-superiority fighters based from the HQ.

the bottom intakes are closed becasue you dont want the engines sucking up all the crap off the floor, thats when the upper ones are used.
Any aircraft flying at lower altitude will have slower speeds, thats becasue the air is more dense (thiker) closer to the ground as there is more pressure and also resistance. the higher u get the thinner the air becomes, allowing for faster speeds as the resistance is less, it also improves fuel efficency as the engines have to work less.
Two questions: at 0:42 vid shows all sorts of weapons. Does MiG carry ALL of them at once? If so, How she get off the ground? 2nd question? Who is the pilot? He's got to be famous now, since there are tons of UA-cam vids with him in.
and i'm not too sure the 1.44 is far ahead of the raptor at this point in time... although little is truly known about either, the US has always had the upper hand in the technological aspect, versus the design aspect.

Notice 1:12 to 1:20, look at the left display screen. That shows his pitch and roll, but the brown was always staying on the bottom. It should be rotating as he is to always point directly toward the earth, but it's not.
Or is it just the crap quality of youtube that's making it seem that way?
Looks like there's a lot going on with the joystick regarding buttons and less with the throttle.

@slavko022 yeah, SA-3 is an old shit, but check out how good shot that was!
F-16 was painted by a radar for a couple of seconds that AA station could launched a rocket and turn the radar off. A few secs before impact it turned radar on again so SA could lock on. F-16 had no chance - one can't find with an invisible enemy.
I wouldn't compare the MiG-25 to any other more or less modern fighter. It's only stressed to 4G or 5G, but extraordinarily fast, built for missile hit-and-run attacks and not for dog fighting.
MiG-25s WERE the most dangerous planes to coalition forces back in 91 because they failed to catch them most of the time. AFAIK there was one F/A-18 shot down by a foxbat and one F-15E pilot was driven into a SAM position by one.
Had not much to do with pilots but rather the fact that the planes USAF fought were all compromised through lack of maintenance, full knowledge of opponents radars/EW systems, having vastly larger situational awareness through use of AWACS, having MUCH larger numbers and operating in coalition. Also MiGs were more often 1988 DOWNGRADE spec while Allies would be using their latest. Not being able to use radar or any other aiming doesn't help either.
