This seems like one of the Mig 29's the russians have in reserve, becuase most of the Mig 29's in the Russian air focrce are Mig 29C version or Sm5 version. Because the version of the Mig 29 in the video you can see by the cockpit that is the Mig 29A.
Serbia 1999 SAM missile from the 80's with a 120km range knocked out a stealth with all its tech, and they achieved this in fighting conditions where NATO had complete control of the sky! The radar was switched on and off until they locked on to their target and was kept on until the target was hit, that would be like a fly trying to fly through a spiders web. Imagine if they had the comfort to breath let alone newer missle systems?

D'ailleurs leur absence au Bourget cette année a été un grand vide, une sensation qu'il "manquait quelque chose"... at the end of the day... with all these highly maneuverable planes, the only limiting factor is the pilot. everything else is bs: "a mig-29 could own an f-18", "su-37's would own raptors"... its all about the pilot

Yeah, stealth and jamming are the new thing. The Mig-29 and F-15 fighters are fantastic, but are becoming dated - thats why there is the next generation F-22, and Russia's Pak-Fa. Great vid though, great plane.
all later versions of MiGs and Sukhois are clearl level above American and other Nato planes as regards manourverability . The catch is the avionics and BVR capabilities. Most NATO planes have superior radars, and BVR weapon systems - all their have been while flying in straight lines and firing from a distance - there IS no dogfight. The americans were beaten in close combat during Red October exercise by the german Mig 29s and completely pasted out of the skies by the Indian Sukhoi 30s.
Sure it takes cajones to fly any kind of aircraft, let alone a fighter. But technology rules the skies. This has been seen when two F-22 killed 13 F-15's before they even knew where they were, then the F-22's proceeded to kill the remaining 2.

Thats old technology, the F-22 would shoot that plane out of the sky before if figured out it had even got shot down. It will be like, "Oh crap i just got shot down, what just happend?"

Affleck's a doofus, PH was pure crap, and the F-22 most certainly would "own" a MiG-29, an excellent fighter a generation behind the F-22. Factor in the F-22's stealth, AWACS control and USAF training standards as well. USAF flys more in a week than Sov/Russians do in a month. MiG-29 is late 70s, non-stealth technology--still lethal, but not in F-22's league at all.

Even though Mig 29 looks like the bastard offspring of a mating between a F-14 and an F-15, it's pretty cool. I am proud of you guys for building it.
i saw a mig-29 making the maneuvera called "cobra" in an airshow and it affects people much more than the b1 sound.
