Russian design bureau's should be more like their American counterparts, in the sense that while their drawing board designs may compete for the end contract, they still end up working together remarkably close. Certainly closer than Russian aircraft companies do. Just imagine what Yakovlev, Sukhoi, and Mikoyan do if they teamed up..
@@szarmywarmy 2006, tho they kept the tradition of naming the planes after the original company, hence why UAC made the Mig-35 its still designated as a Mikoyan product. same for Yak-130 Su-57 late Su-35 etc
@@szarmywarmy There is no adequate funding. More precisely, it is, but only on paper. Most of it is spent on management bonuses and banal corruption. At the moment, this issue has become stricter, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Sukhoi, Mikoyan, Ilyushin, Yakolev, Tupolev, and Irkut are all joined under 1 parent company now, UAC.
