    nikkit,
Sukhoi's are the most beautiful aircraft in the world.
Yes, they don't have stealth(yet)but purely as a flying machine they are unsurpassed. These planes
have rewritten the books on flying! And still there
are people calling them crap! Wich is so wrong.
Everytime i look at them i still fall in love
all over again. Keep up posting video's of these
beautiful and one of a kind aircraft! Thank you!

Su 27 and its variations are simply amazing. I am sure, that the Last Flanker (Su 27BM or Su 35) can stand up to both the F-35 and the F-22.
Pak-Fa is going to be a great fighter. But nothing will ever be as beautiful and maneuverable as the Flanker, which even without canards and TVC can perform maneuvers, others only can dream of.

i'm very glad my country buy SUs...even though they're not the latest one,but still consider one of the beautiful flying beast~~

franky..Your points are very intelligent and thought out...you do know your facts. I would have to admit that the Su's are very capable combat aircraft, and unmatched in aero-maneuverability. Unless the F22 and SU's ever hold simulation combat scenarios, the outcome will always just be a point for everyone to argue. Too bad that our countrys can't become ultimate freinds against a common enemy without questioning each others ulterior motives....

just came back from watching US airshow videos, and holy crap, Su planes are intimidating. Look at the paint scheme: it is mostly ground-camouflage; so what it says is "once this gets in the air, it doesnt matter if you see it or not".

NUMBER OF TOMAHAWK WAS over 20, unit of my father shot down 1, and he was MAJOR located near the BELGRADE on mountain AVALA. I personaly saw how, two cruise misiles are shot down.
I dont't know for shoting down of F 15, but remains of F 16 and F 117 are in Serbia and Russia!

    racerx11080,
A F-15 was hit but made it back to base.
Just like the second F-117 did after it was hit.
    This F-117 never flew again.
    It was damaged beyond repair.

    shelldawv,
What i also find typical is this:
When i post something first many Americans don't
agree and call names and insults.
When they do research about it and find
    that it's true this happens:
    1.They don't react anymore.
    2.When they react they try
to make it insignificant by downsizing it!
But if it were in U.S favor they would brag about it!
And that's not being open minded at all.

Sorry about the earlier comment, I did not mean to get emotional. My sources were from Indian newspapers who quoted from American sources. You can try to dig some up form google, and I believe the exercise was called "Cope India 2004." The aircraft flown by the Indians were actually the Su 30 MK, a step down from the MKI, plus the fact that IAF outnumbered the Americans is true, probably trying to simulate numerical superiority when America faces a real threat like Iran or China (god forbid).

I love those Sukhois. They are beautiful, agile and deadly, especialy in close air combat. Though i do think the F/A-22 and maybe even the F-35 are the deadlier planes overall.
However, even a Pilot of an F/A-22 should not underestimate one of those Sukhois and try to stay BVR or avoid the fight completely if possible.
They're just to cool to try and shoot down anyway.

  • @frankyspeaker
    @frankyspeaker 17 років тому

    shelldawv,
I'm a great fan of Russian aircraft. I love them!
And the SU-47 would be the ultimate close combat fighter if it went in to service. Wich it doesn't.
    It's a technology demonstrator.
But the F-22 can't be touched at this moment. Especially in BVR.
People should be realistic about that.

Ok aren't interceptors like Mig-31 supposed to engage bombers mostly, then maybe fighters.
I was writing this as the MiG-31 powerful radar can even distinguish the very slight signal the F-22 and/or B-2 produces, at least according to the producers.

    UnKn0wn86,
Lockheed Martin bought Yakovlev data in the 90's
for buiding a Vertical Take Off and Landing aircraft.
The F-35 JSF STOVL version is build from this Yakovlev data.

  • @shelldawv
    @shelldawv 17 років тому

frankyspeak..your first comment was about an airshow in 1989..how many tech advancements have there been since then..? The US experimented with thrust vectoring since the early 90's (X-31..F15 MTD..etc.) but found that the maint. involved limited aircraft air hours. They found that 3'D wasn't as advantageous as advanced avionics...easier to shoot down enemys from a distance with STEALTH, then close combat wasn't in the equation..so 5 deg difference doesn't even matter...

(the ideal EM pulse has no carrier frequency) it would be nice if soviet engineers told us what frequencies they really use, but they won't. and since soviet radar has been more advanced than ours for the past few decades, it is logical to assume that if I can come up with a solution, they did too. much of this is in the DSP software anyways.

Although i have a perference for american planes (my favorite being the f-18) i do admire some russian jets such as mig-29 and su-family.
I also have great respect for the russian corporations such as Mikoyan and Sukhoi that are able to build great planes even though their budget is way lower than american corporations such as lockheed martin.

    racerx11080,
    ""I dont't know for shoting down of F 15,""
I reacted to your doubt about a F-15 being shot down.
To my conformation about the F-15 that was shot i added what happened with a second F-117 that was shot.
There for i do not understand your reaction to my post because i know there were more planes downed.
If you read correctly you see
    that i say "second" F-117.

    shelldawv,
I know it's a long time ago but
the U.S has no aircraft that can match the aerodynamics and symetrical airflow of the Sukhoi.
If the Sukhoi would have 20 degrees nozzle movement
like the f-22 it would turn faster then the F-22.
The F-22's 5 degrees more just shows the Sukhoi's superiour areodynamics. It's superiour aerodynamics compensates the lack of the 5 degrees nozzle movement compared to the F-22.

    shelldawv,
I know that the U.S is going for the BVR option with their aircraft. That's the idea behind stealth.
Many people compare all aircraft with each
other, wich isn't right because you can't compare
a non stealth aircraft with a stealth aircraft.
There is no match in BVR against a stealth aircraft.

    • @christiansantillan184
      @christiansantillan184 6 років тому

ZL4D Very Maneuverable at speeds close to the sound barrier (transonic) and is able to go at steeper climb angles without having to worry about stalls (however you should'nt prolong that stunt). though Forward Swept wings makes planes harder to fly.

    russian carriers aren't lame.
they actually have a many advantages over nimitz class carrier.
ski jumps do not put stress on the aircraft which would cut down aircraft matainence hours and save money in the long run.
also ski jumps give planes a positive Angle of attack which assists in take off.

The Su-27 (and its many variants) are amazing. The Russians are on par with the West composites and aerodynamic design.
A fight between Su-37s and F-22s would be decided by BVR missiles. Fancy maneuvers by the Su-37 would only help in a close-range fight, one the F-22 would avoid.
The Russians have superb pilots and equipment, but lack truly stealthy aircraft and a C3I that can match the USAF.
I'm American, but I hold the Su-27 family high regard. Oh, and maverick4422, you can kiss my arse.

    (RCS B2: .75m2, RCS F22: .01m2)
increasing power a solution, but it is not the only one. changing frequency is another. To be "invisible", an object has to maintain a purely resistive impedance of 376.7 Ohms over all frequencies. This is impossible to achieve as long as the airplane exists. Radar technology is advancing faster than stealth technology. For example, pulsed radar, modulated in a pseudo-random sequence, can achieve almost any power levels, without being detected by the enemy
