Effective communication is crucial and the key word there is "Effective". Not a shouting match or blame tosses; not even "justifications" are effective communication. Listening, expressing your True feelings and then coming up with a list (no more than 3) observable behaviors you both can show the other so the trust can be built again. Basically the boyfriend lost his Trustworthiness. What he Said, Did, Thinks and Feels were not the same. The fact that he signed up on Grindr isn't the problem. That's just a symptom.
I was feeling bad because I broke up with my boyfriend for this reason and he made me look like a crazy jealous toxic boyfriend. We had stablished our terms and agreed on uninstalling Grindr and yet I caught him. Then he made a thousand different stories on when and why he had used it. I was right on leaving him since 2 days from breaking up he was already meeting other guys. Don’t ever trust a cheater! Take care of yourselves guys!

What's upsetting to me is the inquirant looking at his boyfriend's phone. My partner and I have been together for 16 years. We leave our journals around the house because we both value the other's privacy and trust each other. Having to regulate my partner by violating their personal space is abhorrent to me. What's upsetting to me is the inquirant looking at his boyfriend's phone. My partner and I have been together for 16 years. We leave our journals around the house because we both value the other's privacy and trust each other. Having to regulate my partner by violating their personal space is abhorrent to me. We have an agreement that if one of us wants sexual/romantic contact outside the relationship we'll talk to each other first so we each have an opportunity to tend to our own connection in light of the emergent need. If one of us needs it, then it's a need we both address by attending to it together.
