Say what you will about how the gameplay hasn't aged perfectly, but the conversions of MJ's songs to a Genesis sound chip were done so well it's almost uncannily similar to any Sega Genesis remix of a MJ song.
arcade version with a top down respective is harder in difficulty imo, but I had a friend which could beat it only using one continue. He is def a gaming genius

Zew this game is far cry from being enjoyable. It is only fun during early levels while the rest of game requires strong memorizations. Using health bar to perform special dance is just a terrible idea since dancing at wrong time means a suicide. As a kid I was totally impressed by the sound effect of this game, it was rather hard to believe the Genesis is capable of playing MJ's work so well, but sound is the only good thing the game can offer. Nothing personal against MJ, but if i want to play a good arcade style beat'em up, this is never going to be my first choice.

I loved the soundtrack so much at the time. YThe special effects were also amazing. Except when the little girl was saying Micheal all the time. I hated that little girl voice. I remember playing just to make some special moves and impress my friends that would come just to play Micheal Jackson.
Ah the memories. I still remember how to do the iconic michael's moon walker in this game. Hold attack button and press the direction. He will do the moonwalk. Very effective on Mud floor and treatmill like floor lol
That's one of the things I like about this game - the controls were kind of jank and they decided to make Michael do his crotch grab whenever you press UP. This actually has the hilarious after-effect of making Michael do random crotch grabs in the middle of the stage because the player is trying to go up stairs or trying to check background objects that aren't interactive.
When i was a kid, travel to Las Vegas played Michael Jackson's Moonwalker arcade game at Union Plaza b4 closed down arcade game room for good. Great Memories
This is how big he was! Getting an actual DECENT video game with his own music, that is insane! Imagine any POP artist getting that today... Everybody would just say, "are you kidding me with this idea" 😊
I love Jackson's old school tunes, and they really help keep the energy up throughout the game. there was a sequel for the Genesis and Arcade planned a couple years later, but the first child molestation scandal destroyed that from happening.

It was the best thing ever, but sadly, someone broke its screen with a football and now we can't play it anymore.. But looking back at this, man was it so frustrating yet so fun

I played it as a kid and it was one of most enjoyable games for me! just look at how MJ walks , kicks, spins! it has his unique dancing style and his own music mixed in a very cool way ! God , also that ability to make enemies dancing along with you and beating them by this ! wow such an amazing experience! I am gonna play it again soon❤( you didn’t used this special ability in first stages so far 😂 I was waiting to see it …)
