The only thing I dislike about the bike is the joystick. Like a Nintendo controller, or any video game controller, the joystick is always the first thing to break.
I think it was induction noise too, and I personally found it excessive. I’ve recently test ridden this standard model and imho it’s quieter, despite the vents in the top of the tank. 😳
The power and the smoothness of a triple is not to be underestimated. After trying many two sylinder bikes, I've come to the conclusion that bikes needs more than two of them. And Nick, if you can get a hold of a Triumph for testing, you'll know why I love them.
Awesome review Nick, love your enthusiasm for this bike! I love my Hornet 750 but the Mt09 is a nice step up and very tempting. After installing a quick shifter to my hornet, my first bike to have one, I love having the quick shifter so much that I am seriously considering buying the auto mt-09 Y-amt version. Here in New Zealand it is the same price as the standard Mt09, bonus!Steve.
i have a 2018 MT10 SP and am seriously thinking of changing it for the new MT09 SP i have had litre bikes for 30 years and i just dont think you need them anymore
I'm always faster and have more fun on a middle weight round a twisty track or small to mid-size circuit. And they are better on the road than a litre plus bike. IMO. The biker cc bikes aren't as Nimble and feel clumsy in comparison. They compromise too much. Maybe a litre is one is sitting on the motorways for the majority of its riding.
@nicksepisode absolutely. I had a day on my friends superduke 1290. I just thought there was too much compromise with the big sd. It wasn't as nimble, it felt abit clumsy on twisty mountain roads. And it was hard to use the full power of the bike. The roads in my country aren't the hest condition. The middle weights are where it's at. Most fun for the buck, and even if price wasn't an issue.
Collect mine next Saturday and can't wait to get out on it. Bought the demonstrator for a great price full kitted out with all the comfort extras ready for touring. Doesn't have the akra exhaust though which is £2k! Think I'll wait for cheaper after market ones to come out as still have the cat and don't think it's much louder for all that dosh. Sounds like you"ll be getting one too, in which case I look forward to following your time on it (although knowing you it may not be for long as you are always swapping - this is definitely a keeper for me though).
Think this could be the next one in a year or so, my current gsx 8s is nice but a couple of niggles the qs is clunky at times and the weight is marginally heavier than id like it to be, the power is good enough but more is always nice 😀. Good review. I have quite enjoyed watching your journey, trying all the bikes looking for the next one. purchase.
Yes I tried the gsx 8 and I noticed the shifter was clunky. Don’t have that satisfied feel. It’s a great bike tho ! And priced very well. Thanks for watching my videos, much appreciated
As a primarily musical instrument maker only Yamaha would include a sound system for the engine noise!! I hope Jodie hasn't ordered the Kawasaki for father's day before seeing this video.
69Nm is on the MT07. This one gives, slightly, more 😃😃 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 NIIIICE clip !!! Bike is also nice, but if you USE it, as "intended" - speed tickets WILL pile up ! - If you don't - what's the point with it ??!! 😀 On the high way - it's going to be, either too cold, or the visor is filled with 🦗🦗🐝🐝🦟🦟🐜🐜🦋🦋.... 🤷♂ And yes, there's always the never ending fun of beating the others - from the traffic light - unless there is someone with a more powerful 🏍..... 😭
I test rode one today, and put a deposit down for the sp. Fantastic bike.
Great choice !
What price. Any discounts or promos?
When is the release date of the SP?
@@chriswest2290You never normally get a discount on new models, maybe a few accessories if your lucky.
You're saying that the SPs are not already all spoken for? That's shocking. Where are you from?
Ive ordered one and paid a deposit. No idea when that will arrive. I dont care if i have to wait.
The only thing I dislike about the bike is the joystick. Like a Nintendo controller, or any video game controller, the joystick is always the first thing to break.
You’re right about that
How is the stock exhaust sound compared to the last year model? Is it loud as the prev. model?
not sure bud as this had the full boom on it
I think it was induction noise too, and I personally found it excessive.

I know you love yours
Two are more than enough, that's my conclusion.
Although i wouldn't say no to this triple.
The Triumph Speed Triple is made for guys who race the Tourist Trophy every year. A high speed razor for the street.
Also how is it compare to the interceptor ride and feel wise. Power definitely there is a difference.
It’s in a league of its own, hands down this is more enjoyable than the interceptor. But they are both good in there own ways
More electronics but they are nearly £2k more than the z900 based on AT listings. The GP variant of the XSR is a nice machine.
Very valid point there
Would love to know how it compares to trident 660
An MT07 would be more comparable I’d say. This is a far superior bike than the trident
Are they doing any promos or deals in the UK for the MT09?
Not yet
@@nicksepisode so still £10100 on the road. Cash sale

Mt09 will be a great upgrade !! I didn’t like the 750 hornet, the fuelling is awful, you’ll love the mt09
This or the tuono 660 factory?
If you have a local aprilia dealer then pop in and try one. The aprilia is more exotic and special. The yammy will be more refined though.

You’ll love the lightness and mumble turning on this compared to the mt10. In all honesty the mt10 has too much power for uk roads

I have a 22MT10 & I just tried the Tenere world raid and loved it.

Cheeky! You’re not wrong tho. Enjoy yours
If you are getting an aftermarket exhaust, get the SC project underbelly exhaust, its so stealthy and discreet, and it looks damn good
@abymathew295 I'll check it out thanks. 😊
I watched this video earlier and think it had about 550 views, when I finished it it had 1550 views!! It's magic I tell you! 😂🤔
You know I’ve never paid for any views or promotions (despite YT telling me too) if people like it they watch it :) no paid promotions on this channel
@nicksepisode Good for you Dude 👍

lol no orders been made just yet !
@@nicksepisode Don't blame you. Lot of money to make a rush decision with.
Picked mine up Friday ❤ I love it🏍️ zoom zoom 🏍️ 💨💨
Congrats and enjoy !
The clutch cover sticks out way too much
Probably down to the torque control slipper clutch
Plenty of ads
A small sacrifice to watch free content, apologies
the arm guard and wind guard makes it ugly imo
I’d take them straight off
I think they quite suit it tbh... are they official Yamaha parts?
@paulhope3401 yeah
I want one, NOW!!! 😂
Shall we see if we can get a deal on two ??
I wish I could afford it
I'm a naked kind of a guy every day 😅
😜

True!
Barbarian not in Icon Blue
I like the icon blue !
Too many electronics. Screws the bike.. One fault slaps to another.
Open your wallet. The repair bill.... WTF.
A very valid point
Real world gas mileage is 46 mpg. That's when I'm not getting too squirrely. 😅
lol I can imagine
My Gen 3 varies between 30-40 depending on mood. Only got 2.5k on it, though, so maybe it will improve a bit yet.
The MT09 is in a different league to the z900....its a hooligan bike......
'Ull' east yorkshir.
Agreed !
And much cheaper, even the Sp version.
