Yamaha MT-09 SP: My Review After 8,000 Miles
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2024
- When the promo videos hit the internet featuring the new Yamaha MT-09 SP, I fell in love with this new Hypernaked Motorcycle. I've been riding my MT-09 for a little more than a year and have put 8,000 miles on the odometer.
This video walks you through my opinion of the MT09. It is my hope that if you are on the fence about buying one for yourself, this video can help you come to a decision.

Best advice about the noises the bike is making - just use ear protection, your ears will thank you and you will never worry about small stuff like this. I know some people have reservations about using ear plugs but trust me and try it at least once. And if you like it I recommend ear loops.
Full marks for giving details of the changes that can be made to the ‘bars and foot pegs to achieve a more sporty riding position - not even mentioned in reviews in the UK. Bravo sir. 🌟
This was not only a great long term review but a great story relating in detail your ownership experience.
I got the SP a few months back. Love it. Great review. That noise you’re hearing is your automatic cam chain tensioner. This is a notorious issue with MT07s and 09. You can swap the stock automatic with a manual cam chain tensioner. Honestly; if Euro5 didn’t neuter the sound of the bikes nowadays, the chain tensioner noise wouldn’t seem as pronounced.
I wear foam earplugs and there is something about the frequency of the noise that cuts right through the earplugs - it is very pronounced. When I take the earplugs out I can still hear it, but it is much less noticeable.
I never knew mt had this issue I know the bmw s series has this issue
i didn't know pulling the clutch could mute a noisy cam chain tensionner good to know 😂
@@512460 The 847cc version of the bike had the issue in earlier models, from 2014 through about 2017. I don't think it was ever entirely solved. The manual tensioner isn't that expensive and it solves the issue. Doesn't change the function of the valvetrain whatsoever, doesn't cause reliability worries, doesn't do anything but keep the tensioner where it should be.
@@exothermal.sprocketso why don’t they do it from factory ?
I ride a 2022 xsr900 which is essentially the same motorcycle. I must say I'm very happy with it and had no issues at all so far. Thinking backwards about the reliability issue my old Triumph Street twin gave me I do not regret my choice on Yamaha.
best part of the bike is that engine, that torque curve deliver you don't need to rev it , from 3k whatever the gear your in it goes
combined with the quickshifter and the lightness it's a joy to ride
Thank you for the nice structured presentation with relevant aspects, particularly the cost of ownership service section, which I had not heard prior. Great!
My SP 2020 seat: It took me about 20k kms to fully „break it in“. Very comfortable ever since, also on long day tours of 5+ hours.
Fuel economy (normal road use): I easily can do 280 kms on a full tank of Shell V-Power 100 - in Europe, the fuel quality (and additives) seem to be superior. Only at the race track with a 1 km straight, the range declines to about 160 kms / tank 😅🏁
Hey Walt,
I have the 2023 MT-09-SP. Loving it. FYI, for future tire changes; You don't actually have to pull the caliper from the caliper mounting bracket. I just pull the axle and the tire drops out. The bracket and caliper drop out and go back together us a separate assembly. Enjoy!
Now this is how reviews should be done! Full of facts while riding. enjoyed every minute.
I have almost 30k mile on mine and it still makes me smile. Only part that went bad internally was the clutch basket because of the wheelies..lol but easy job to do. The valves were good the exhaust was actually to closed so had to put smaller shims in it. Great bike and best all around bike in my opinion.
Thats great to hear that it hasn't given you any trouble after 30k miles.
Explain a bit more about the clutch basket please and because I'm learning to wheelie on my fz but I'm worried about the clutch
@@RohanSanjith between the the clutch basket and the gear is some cushions and “in my experience” when I started doing clutch up wheelies after a while I felt a vibration in the foot pegs. After pulling the clutch apart there was some play in the clutch and gear where the cushions wore out. You get a replacement clutch or buy the basket from extreme creations and it’s rebuildable
I was in shock about your gas mileage as my 22 model delivers 50 to 55 miles per gallon. I won’t speak about tire mileage as we are way apart on that also. The only thing I can come up with is we must ride way differently somehow. I seldom come back from a ride without having been past the ton several times. I am a acceleration junky and don’t spare the power.
I do love my MT09 and do all my own service as I have on the many bikes before it.
Best of luck to you Walt as my name is Walt also.
If you take the headlight cowl off, on the left hand side stood facing the bike is a auxiliary power connector. Probably for heated grips. I bought the Yamaha twin USB handlebar mount with the connector on, pops straight in to the spare auxiliary, 5 min job. I would maybe get your quick-shifter and blipper checked, mine is silky smooth and requires a gentle little tap both up and down. Never had less than 52mpg and i do rag it on the twistys. And you did far better than i did with the Bridgestones, my back tyre was shot at 2700 miles. Enjoyed your video though and great to see someones else's opinions and experiences on the same bike (2023). Currently the bike costs £11599 here. I am in the U.K. I notice your tach is Green from way low down, mine doesn't change to Green until five and a half thousand revs
I’m 5’10 32inch inseam and raising the foot pegs made a huge difference for me. Whenever I wanted to ride aggressively I would have to kinda get on my tip toes in order to get my knees into the right spot on the tank.
It feels great with them up.
I did this to mine based on your comment (same height and inseam), and you are spot on! I love how mine feels with the raising of the pegs. Thanks 😎
Just signed on a 23 Sp. I cant wait!!! Only one week
I’ve owned a GSXR 600, an R6 and a Harley Davidson Streetglide. By far my 2022 Mt- 09 SP is my favorite. I’ve had it almost a year now and I love it.
What can you say about the suspension comfort on the MT09 compared to the gsxr?
@@Alexxx-cf5vw due to the adjustability of the MT-09 and how old my GSXR was definitely the MT-09 wins
Hey Walt good video. Thanks again for the recommendation I ended up buying a 2023 Mt09 sp last week from Latrobe Pa.
Thats great - what do you think so far?
Yea it's a great bike for sure over 17k so far on mine love it
Hey!!! Seriously GREAT review!!! When you talk about flipping those handle bar clamps, I honestly thought how this is by far a better review than chaseontwowheels !!!! 100%!! If you do other bike reviews and thoroughly read the owners manual before a ride and put useful info into the video like that, you're channel WILL explode! How else would I ever know? Thanks! I don't own a bike but I've mountain biked around 6000 miles/year in the short Canadian summer. I do want some motorcycle at some point. The one you have seems like all you'd ever need. I wish you lots of future success! Hopefully some day you can work something out with a dealership, advertise them and produce great videos like this about bikes! Take care :)
30 seconds in, I knew this is a pro video, subscribed!
best review I found... Thank you sir
Great review. I almost got a MT-09 but instead went with a 2023 z900 instead. it was cheaper to purchase, a ton cheaper to insure and it was readily available. There's still a part of me that would love to ride and possibly own an MT some day.
Do you rate the Z9? I've always wondered about those.
Less expensive insurance? What insurance service are you using?
Seems it wouldn't matter one way or another, as the Z is nearly 100cc larger, more horsepower, and in the same category.
@@exothermal.sprocket I would argue its probably something with statistics, MT09 is probably more popular meaning more accidents.
@@AnAgedMan More than likely. Yet, I'm middle aged with a clean driving record, so things of that nature have much less effect on me.
@@exothermal.sprocket all the more reason I hate statistics based charging
You are right about the stock seat it feels fine for the first hour then becomes a pain. I found after touring for several hours I felt the vibes in my hands after I got off the bike. I'm surprised you haven't bought a screen. Getting the wind of your lower body helps at speed. I have a MRA screen, pricey but works well. Yamaha heated grips are also nice and you adjust it via the menu wheel. The USB port I bought plugs in to dedicated connectors behind the headlight. I have the Road 6's also, be interesting to see how long they last.
I got my SP back in 2021 and just last year I started running road 6’s and just put a new one on about a month ago. I got about 4500 miles out of the center. I did to some ride I. The hills and down in LA area and absolutely love this tire. It handles very well no complaints. The longest I have ride I have been on was 12 hours and was ready to get off at hour 10. Getting close to 30k miles and still love it!!!
I was on the fence about adding a screen. I like the look of the De Pretto Moto Metal Flyscreen but not so much the price 😬
I didn't know you could connect the heated grips to the menu. That would be much clearer than having a separate control. I'll have to give that some thought. Thanks!
The 2020 SP seat took about 10'000 kms to "break in" - it has been comfortable ever since on long day trips or an entire 2 week tour...
EXCELLENT review! Thank you.
Thank you so much for your review, It was very helpful.
I was thinking of buying one but after hearing you how Yamaha treats its customers i am now rethinking my choice.
Things might be different from country to country not sure about it but i dont wwant to take a chance having to deal with those problems
Also funny that you mention about the diagnostics being so expansive because the tank needs to be lifted not sure but i do believe most bikes need the tank to be lifted already to change the spark plugs
I`m a Dutchman living in Malaysia and many dealerships here offer free life time labor cost for this bike but also others
It is a beautiful bike i love the color you have which is not available in Malaysia for year 23 / 24 also i didnt see any one selling the SP here
Awesome review, thank you.
Great video as I contemplate going from a ‘16 fz09 to a new SP model 👍
Thank you. This is the best review I’ve seen on the Gen 3 MT09. You covered a lot of things pertaining to actual ownership that no other reviewers cover. One thing I would really like to see would be a detailed review and comparison of the differences between the Ohlins shock and the base model shock actual performance. Reviewers just read the specifications or they say the base model shock sucks without elaborating. But I’d like to know in what manner the Ohlins shock actually performs better at high speed, in twisties and corners, on freeways with crappy expansion joints, dealing with bumpy roads, all that real life stuff. It would be awesome if Zach Courts, Neeves or Adam Waheed would actually do such a comparison. I have a 2023 base model MT09 and the factory shock seems far better and much more stiff and stable than my previous 2018 MT09’s mushy pogo stick. Does the Ohlins shock really make that big of a difference or are people just impressed because it’s gold and expensive?
First off, congrats on the 1K Walt!!! Good job buddy!!
Great review on the bike. I didn’t realize it was 8 months that the bike was down with the brake issue. Next time you might wanna spend the extra and just let them do it 😂😂😂!!
When Martin Moto told me that it could be a few weeks until I got the new Caliper, I bought on one eBay as a short term fix (the only one I could find was in the UK and cost me like $80 in shipping).
I kept the order open at Martin because I didn’t know if the used caliper was going to be a long-term fix. I figured I could always re-sell the used caliper when the new one came in. My main concern was not having the bike parked for too long.
I finally cancelled the order at Martin a couple weeks ago. If the used brake was going to be a problem, it would have happened by now. So I’m just going to keep the used caliper on the bike.
Yeah - I should have just paid the extra $100 and had them pull the wheels. It would save saved me about $300 in parts, shipping, and labor 😩
Got the 2023 one. Also a Ninja 400 2023, as a run around. I live in N Thailand. Great roads, not so great drivers. Not many Big Bikes (as they are called here).
I had the first gen 2016 FZ-09 and the motor was a peach but the brakes were bricky, no feedback from the suspension and it would tie itself in knots if it was pushed. Got an MT-07 and loved the playfulness of it and the bike was well suited for that engine. Looking now at an MT-10 or an MT-09 SP
Wondering if they sorted the 09 well enough that I wouldn't be wishing I had got the 10. Not a fan of how little tank range can be had on the 10 but man that Cross plane sound and bit of extra grunt would be nice. Decisions decisions......
I have an MT07HO but my next bike definitely MT09SP
I miss working with Martin motors! Out closer to Lancaster now.
hey Walt i just wanna ask is your Clunky when changing gears with the cluch especialy 1st to 2nd?
Lol you're funny, "it has a rattle". Dude that is the famous purr of the MT series 😂😂😂😂
Get better bulbs for the headlight. They’re not usually cheap but having the best vision possible at night makes it a very worthwhile investment. The better you can see the safer you will be lol.
There is a spare auxiliary power plug under the headlight cover. Just need to find thr plug for it and wire it up.
I loved my FZ-09! Such a fun little bike! Replaced it with a Suzuki GSX-S1000F. Loved that bike too but might just go back to MT-09SP
where in PA you at? i live in northeast PA and i can't find any dealer with an MT09 SP in PA, even motorcycle mall doesn't have any
Trying to decide if I should sell my drz400sm and put that towards a mt09sp or just add the mt as my main bike
Go for the MT09sp!!
I'm considering some after market levers for my 23 MT-09. Did you go with standard length or the shorty version and why? I installed some bar end mirrors and had to rotate the clutch lever slightly forward to avoid interference with the mirror mount. Would you also rotate the brake lever forward to match the clutch lever?
I bought the standard length levers. I was worried that the shorty version wouldn't give me enough leverage in an emergency braking situation and didn't want to mix Short and Standard Length levers for the brake and Clutch. In hindsight, I don't think the shorty levers would have been an issue.
My concern with rotating the brake lever would be is it rotated enough that reaching it becomes awkward? If I were going to rotate it, I would only go as far as is comfortable.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
One year warrenty??? All Yamaha motrocyles over 250cc comes with a five year warranty here in Norway. But I guess we pay more for the MT-09 Sp then you do. Price over here is about 20K USD. Still I am considering buying one next year to replace my 2021 Ducati Monster. Thanks for a good video 🙂
In the USA a MT09 SP is 12k USD..they sell a lot of them..its about overall numbers..just a guess would be 100k+ per year..Cheers..
Mhh regarding service intervals. My 690 Enduro also had 10000km like the mt09. Just looked up the duke and that is 15000. The Suzuki GSX1000 is at 6000km. Kawasaki is at small inspection every 6000 and large inspection 12000km. Ducati just says every 12 month, like the other bikes. Either 10000km or 12 months.
The mt09 is really just in the same ballepark...
great review very informative just need to find one at the right price now
Great review mate... I'm loving the bike also... Cheers from 🇦🇺
My 2014 is noisy too. Normal. Many think the tensioner is broken but it’s just the way they sound. My friend has almost 100k on his.
Good review, never heard before abt the short maintenance intervals, 4k is ridiculous , good of you to note that. I watched many reviews of the mt09 as i am interested in buying a new (or new to me) middleweight but such short maintenance interval is a show stopper - i expected ard 8k miles. Like this any difference in purchase price vs the rivals i.e ktm 890, ducati monster, triumph is evaporated/paid back to the dealership - maybe still cheaper from the duc monster sp tho despite the maintenance intervals lol
Unlike a car the oil in a motorcycle does triple duty. It is the engine oil, it’s the transmission oil and the clutch oil. The oil leads a very tough life in a motorcycle. Then add how we generally ride our motorcycles and a 4 thousand mile oil change is probably getting to the end of the protective oil additives life cycle. Oil can also only hold so much debris in suspension per quart. Most motorcycles don’t hold huge quantities of oil as a result it limits the amount of debris it can hold. So regular oil changes at reasonable intervals of time is cheap insurance if you really care about your motorcycle.
You better look at the manual on the bikes you mentioned. They put in a little statement about hard duty, dusty/ road conditions and cold weather conditions. It will as a general rule reduce hype/ selling service intervals to 3 or 4 thousand miles. 4 to 5 thousand miles or once per year with new oil filter is far as you should go without an oil change.
Love the MT-09 power, but twin-cylinder bikes I find appealing enough to take a second thought toward a 750 Hornet, GSX-8S, or one of the KTM Duke options. Twins are just so charismatic, interesting to listen to, produce the sort instant grunt at most RPM that makes a ride fun, and are usually more fuel efficient than the equivalent 3 or 4 cylinder.
Yamaha has had 3 redesign opportunities to increase fuel capacity in the 847/890. They refuse to. All it needs is a 17L or 18L tank. No, I don't want a Tracer 9 GT.
Thank you for doing this 8k mile review. I’m happy to see that you’re enjoying this bike! I just bought an mt07 since I am a beginner rider. About to hit my 600 miles, and bring it for it’s first service. I’m looking to also replace the stock levers to asv levers. Do you think it’s better to keep the long level for the clutch and go short levers for the breaks?
I put long levers on both - I was worried that the shorty wouldn't give me enough leverage but in hindsight, I think the short levers would have been fine.
Valve check every 26,000 miles makes super affordable service.
Nice review mate I’m doing a review tomorrow on this bike. 👌👌
I have nearly the same hustle like you i ordered in april a 2024 model an in the begining it said i comes in begin of june then it was middle of june then it was end of june then begin of july then middle of july and now today Finale i can go and pick it up
Have you ever considered the CB1000r? What’s the most important thing that you choose MT09?
The MT09 needs a small screen to hide that ugly section between the headlight and dash. Pyramid have a good selection to peruse. Other than that your vid was a great insight into a great motorcycle.
On my MT09SP, I just shift my boney ass around on the stock seat as required. As bikers, we are supposed to be adaptive, as well as crazy and rebellious. WALT IN PA! MY SP BRO!
I had road 5 on my r1 and got over 14k these are going to last you years easily. They were still round when I sold the bike!
4L left in The tank when The Light îs on :-) Nice bike ride safe!
This is an excellent, in-depth review of the bike and your experiences with it. Anyone buying a middleweight naked should consider this motorcycle. Talking about adjustability, can you share any experience with the suspension setup? Have you made any adjustments to it?
I haven't done anything with the front suspension. I have tinkered with the rear suspension but not a lot. I'm hoping to take an Advanced Rider Clinic later this summer and one of the things discussed is suspension setup - I'd like to use that class to help guide me in the right direction for suspension tweaks.
@@WaltInPA Please do, that would be a fantastic subject to cover.
Not unlocking any untapped performance from a bike that is just sitting waiting for it should be considered a crime. 😉
I made some substantial changes to the OEM suspension setting on my 22SP. Stark improvement in handling.
@@johnbarressejr929 Would you be happy to share your revised settings?
I still want the Z900. Prefer the constant torque found anywhere inside the rev range of a Kawasaki. Engines are buttery smooth
beast and best in its category...
What's your favorite areas in PA to ride? I have a 2022 MT09 non-SP and I'm in Western NY south of buffalo and go down in to PA sometimes.
Very nice ride, I ended up going with a street triple just because it revs higher like a super sport but it lacks torque
Great review.
Lol, I'm probably going that exact same route, CB600F for my first bike and then upgrade to a MT-09. That or I might just get a MT-07 for my first bike.
The older off centered dash looked way better than this one, im sure has more features but thats a deal killer for me🤷🏼♂️
Did you hear any "clunking" noise when you shift with clutch? I have 2023 mt 09 sp model and it does in every gear. It improves when i "pre-load" the shift lever sometimes. It is normal?? Amazing review!!
Hi, I only hear negative story than enthusiasm and enjoy motorcycling!!! almost every bike has limitations or irritation regardless of premium brand to cheap Chinese bike. if it has problems with maintenance costs or the like, in my opinion you better ride a bicycle than a motorcycle.
Be safe & enjoy it
Thanks for this review! I actually have a 2020 CB650R and have been looking at trading in to an MT09-SP myself so I'm in a similar situation as you were, Also turns out where you are riding is about 5 minutes from where I work, maybe I'll see you out on the road one day!
The rattling you're referring to might be the cam chain tensioner getting loose if it's more pronounced now than before...
It's a common issue with triples.
I wear foam earplugs and there is something about the frequency of the noise that cuts right through the earplugs - it is very pronounced. When I take the earplugs out I can still hear it, but it is much less noticeable.
It's a common issue with Yamaha CP3. It's not an inherently 3-cylinder issue across the market of 3-cylinders.
People have replaced the cam chain tensioner with a manual adjuster, solving the clatter/rattle/noise. It's not expensive. It will require a infrequent check now and then to make sure things are in spec.
Throttle body syncing is super easy. You don't have to be that handy to accomplish it. I'd say it's like 2 out of 5 for difficulty.
Have a question for the bike NERDS MT-09 SP 2023 bike pricing its done 3k miles private sale £8400 ( Is that a good deal?)
Thank you for the info! Looking to trade in my r3 for the my-09!
I got a CB650f last fall and wouldn’t mind a bit more grunt and more tech. CB is solid. But I find myself yearning for the MT09. So I could totally relate. So how manageable is the MTs power vis a via the Cb650f.
Use the quadlock smart power port! It won’t drain your battery
There's no way KTM calls for 12000 mile oil change interval...
It would be nice and smart of Yamaha to have prioritized you much more but outside of that it sounds like a damn good bike. Congrats, be safe! By the way, how do you like the phone mount you have? I'm shopping that rn
I think you guys are getting shafted by Yamaha USA when it comes to the service intervals - in the EU the service intervals are 6000 miles.
I came across that on the FZ-09 Forums.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the 10% Ethanol that gets added to fuel here.
@@WaltInPA
We also have 10% ethanol in 95 octane (RON) and 5% in 98.
@Walt In PA Having more ethanol should mean shorter service intervals if anything.
The problem with ethanol is that it binds to moisture, this means that the amount of water in the E10 petrol can increase over time, which can cause corrosion in machines that are inactive for a few months at a time.
I run my SP on 98ron E5 because choosing lower ethanol is reckoned to be better for the engines long term life, its just a cleaner fuel.
Fantastic long term review BTW... super thorough. Great watch.
@@WaltInPAUK fuel has up to 10% unless it’s high octane in which case it is 5%
The stock seat on most bikes are bad because it doesn't match your individual pelvic tilt sweet spot. Think of stock seats as in the same category as the OEM rubber tires, ok but not great. Take your stock seat to any local upholsterer is the best choice IMHO.
Listen man this is solving a problem down river.
Those are some nice roads where you’re at
Heard that Corbin seats are really good
Listen man seats are hard. What bothers me is the vinyl seats. The pleather. It sucks to buy a bike and you need to fix this fix that. Bad seat, overtorqed bolt, your done.
Corbin boasts of their seat shape. Most people who know about motorcycle parts know Corbin seat foam is HARD. Supposedly it breaks in over time. But so does a piece of pine wood.
There's better options.
It’s 6000 miles service interviews across Europe
I've seen that mentioned on the FZ-09 Forums. I wonder if it has anything to do with ethanol?
hello, I meant to ask wer did you get them frame sliders, look good on there, emjoyed your review, I'm serious;y considering purchasing one,, thanks again
I got them from Revzilla - they are R&G Racing Aero Style Frame Sliders.
My Owner s Manual say 10000km service intervals so 6000 miles
where does bro live? It's so nice looking out there!
does this model have cruise ?
Nice video Walt. I don't mean to alarm you in any way, but I have a 2021 SP and I never had the initial poor fuel economy you mentioned; not only that, but I'm 6' 4" 245lbs and ride really quite aggressively and still get 150-165 miles before the gas light comes on. Maybe my bike is running lean, maybe yours is rich, either way seems like quite a discrepancy. I do use a little low MRA windscreen, I wonder if that makes that much of a difference?
How a motorcycle is broken in is significant to all of this. If a rider putters along for 500 miles before using any actual power, sorry to say, you've already permanently hindered the engine from becoming what it could have been. The manufacturer's recommended break-in procedure is a matter of lawyers and liability, not a matter of mechanical truth. The proper break-in procedure is heat cycling the engine and very early oil changes while giving the engine the beans, putting load on it, varying the revs. Because what is a break-in anyway? It's achieving the best ring-to-cylinder seal possible before it is no longer possible, and it's also heat-cycling the engine block to where metals are no longer changing very much on a daily basis. All of this is pretty much done by 1000 miles, but the first 25-50 miles is CRUCIAL for good ring seal.
I've always been careful to follow a regimen with new bikes and it has NOTHING to do with the stupid sticker and the RPM recommendations. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade so I'm not worried about breaking stuff because I know how it functions and emotional sympathy for a $10 grand machine has nothing to do with science and physics.
Good ring-seal will give you the max horsepower, the max fuel efficiency, the most clean engine oil (and best lubrication), and is the best for the life of any internal combustion engine. If one doesn't give the engine the right exposure to conditions, the rings will glaze and stop bedding into the cylinders. It will be permanent, short of new rings and re-honing the cylinders. Without good ring seal, you get combustion blow-by, less compression, less fuel efficiency, less horsepower, earlier oil contamination, and a reduced engine life over time.
I've a 2018 MT-09 I purchased new and treated it like I treat all new motorcycle engines. I don't ride it all that much but when I do, I've gotten near 50 mpg just cruising along and there's no sense of a struggle for power. The oil doesn't get nasty dirty before oil changes either. I changed the oil about 3 times before I hit 1200 miles. First two changes there is a lot of metal particulate in the oil. That's normal, that means rings are bedding and sealing. But getting the metal (particles too small for the filter to remove) out of the oil is critical.
Is your front tyre rotating the wrong direction?
Hello, i got a 2021 sp, it is normal even the engine are off and it was park the red light key indicator in the left upper side continue flashing? Thanks
That’s a security function. It’s an immobilizer.
how tall are you and can you flat foot your mt09sp?
What was the cost of your 6k service?
Yamaha will ship that caliper for a warranry repair. The walk in parts cusromer is low priority. 1st priority for the assembly line, then warranty, then you.
Good 👍👍
Nowadays every Yamaha has this clutch sound problem.
What would be your first alternative choice? (Now)
