How Stop Motorcycle Brake Squeal

What I am about to show you will stop brake squeal and make your brake system more effective and last longer, its something that should be done once a year. If you have a new bike it might be worth following this procedure too, as some manufactures use brake grease sparingly. The bike ...

Make sure you can undo the filler cap before you drain the oil 😂😂
@@patrickwatters7555 sounds like you may have had this issue lol
Such a good video. I really like this bike and i am thinking about getting one, just have to get in contact with a dealer. Great video, keep it up!
@@DuckClub-Quack thank you and good luck with your purchase
Just acquired a used 2023 Himalayan with all the bells and whistles at a great price. I need to do a lot of maintenance to my 2014 VFR800 with over 200,000 miles and I cannot be without an MC. I live out in Joshua Tree Calif. so having a good little dual sport for exploring the desert is a necessity. So, I plan to keep her. Yes, she's slow compared to what I'm used to on the street with my Honda, but I'll just have to get used to it. The Royal Enfield can go places my other MC can't. Some riders have said I need a GS this or a Africa twin that, but I already have real dirt bikes for blasting across the desert off road. I explain it to them this way " I already have a stable full of thoroughbreds, but I also needed a sure-footed little donkey " I also get shunned by the big adventure bike crowd when I wave to them, but I notice they all have the same tires I have on my VFR. How far off road can they go on them sport tires?
If I was to buy a torque wrench what nm range would I need for a motorbike like this?
You would need a 1/4 drive and a 1/2 drive torque wrench. One will be 5-30nm and 39-150nm
I've got one of those, a 2022 Z900 50th anniversary with the optional performance pack, it's as sexy as f*ck....i absolutely love it.
I’m so jealous
@@nicksepisode I put a video of the bike on my UA-cam channel today (classic mini garage)
I love that fairing!!!
lol! I see that I said the same thing two months ago! Haha! I hope you’re still enjoying that awesome bike.
@@brentcollins9727 welcome back !
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this bike. I’m wanting to get back to biking and this rings every bell. Just need to find a dealer in Dorset so I can get a test ride. Incidentally, the flickering TFT is the shutter rate of the camera. It might be worth checking if your camera is set to 50 or 60hz and then play with the shutter speed. The flickering is the TFT refresh rate and your camera is currently seeing it refresh. You are correct in issuing an epilepsy warning as some people suffer from Photosensitivity Epilepsy. I know because I work in “vision” in TV.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’ll give that a try next time I’m on one. Good luck with your search too. All the best
You may need an NA filter.. nice review
Nice one cheers
Thank you, great video! It looks a simple enough set of tasks, but if done without care (or love!), there are lots of things that can go wrong - fairing bits pulled out roughly breaking fasteners, overtightened bolts, wrong oil, etc. Now think about who is more likely to do this with care, love and diligence - the person for whom the bike is their pride and joy, or some random person at a dealership or mechanics. I've learned the hard way that no one is going to care about doing a good job on your bike more than you do. While there are plenty of jobs that I couldn't/wouldn't do myself, for everything else I DIY it. With excellent content creators like Nick, all the information you need is out there.
Thanks for your appreciation!
I'm thinking of moving to a lighter bike, choice is either the Scram or the BMW G310GS/R. Riding on road A (A14) and B roads and maybe a gravel drive one day. I'm 5'9 95 kg. What is your opinion?
The scram because of its class and character. Although the 310 is a great option too. You can’t go wrong with any of those. Get the best deal you can and go with that.
in australia any licenced mechanic can service and keep warranty
That’s how it should be here :(
Oo oo ah ah I always liked the name of the bike lol
Die Engländer sollten eine Enfield fahren
Built in the same country so makes no odds. Maybe a Norton
Oh so thats how you turn off the service spanner simble
Absolutely
I cant get ßecond
Why
I got the exact same bike mine has a chain guard though
Ohhh nice !
Gotta say that I find the bar being angled slightly towards you being one of my favorite features. Rode an MT07 before the z650 and it's just so much more relaxed getting the bar ever so slightly closer to you.
Yeah I suppose it adds a sporty feel
such a fun video -
Cheers
i have a scram 411 .. love this bike
Nice one !
Wow..seems UA-cam deleted my security question because I used the M word...wtf.. 🤔🤷
What did you say ?
As a new owner I was asking about security..as I have been told don't leave it anywhere by the bike shop .. Is it really that bad out there..as I could get so much more use out of it. I'm just looking at 7mm disc lock alarm maybe 2 front and back.. 🤔
@Mark-h3m2w depends where you are. Disc locks are no good because a use they will lift the bike. You’ll be better off changing it to a fixed point
So do owners generally not leave them out of sight as a rule. Obviously if you're camping or on a ride out to a meet or commuting it isn't a problem. But I would love to pop to the shops on mine. There isn't really anywhere to chain through apart from the swing arm.
Had a black 2017 Z900 with the green frame and deeply regret selling it. Named her Maleficent… saving up for the 2025 refresh now. ❤
Coor I’d love a 2025 model
Do you think this is road legal when it comes to emissions?
@@TheBeast0253 no, but in the uk motorcycles emissions are not regulated
Bloody brilliant explanation!!
@@silversun371 thank you !
Cool mini bike!
just one suggestion, if I might: When in a pack (2+) let the least experienced rider set the pace/lead - mitigates lots of potential bad stuff
@@johnsleeper891 I always say this to her and she don’t like the pressure. You are right though
must admit this reveiw is spot on
Cheers bud
engine is small
Good for a lawnmower
The royal enfield has no power compared to the 390.
Absolutely
Hi Nick, I'm 6'2'' - do you reckon I'd be too tall for the bike
I think you may be a little cramped for it. I’d suggest sitting on one and see how it feels
Also how is it compare to the interceptor ride and feel wise. Power definitely there is a difference.
It’s in a league of its own, hands down this is more enjoyable than the interceptor. But they are both good in there own ways
Would love to know how it compares to trident 660
An MT07 would be more comparable I’d say. This is a far superior bike than the trident
The amount of oil these bikes take is so small. I wish the dipstick was replaced with a viewing window. Biggest gripe with these things is that if used to high speed runs, they can get through that oil pretty quick so you have to keep a close eye on that oil level and so many make the mistake of screwing the oil dip stick in to check the level.
You are so right, if people are checking every 1k then this should be ok. I see what you are saying though
Just a couple to many issues for my taste, my dealer wants a huge down payment just to test ride it, on top of holding you hostage for service.
Not good
From the USA...cool video!
Thanks
If you really had to choose which one would it be, the Scram or the Guerrilla?
If money wasn’t a factor then the guerrilla. The reason why is that it’s better for longer trips because of the extra power. If I was on a budget then the scram would serve me well, just might be a bit of a struggle pulling 60-70 for long hauls and overtaking would need planning !
You’re 5” 5 and you had a BMW 310GS nice one. I had the 310r and decided on that version, so I could flat foot it. I struggled to mount the 310GS at the dealership and I’m 5”8… It’s funny you say it took a while to build up speed. I remember when I first started I used to hate it when I saw a 50 speed limit… it was really daunting… Enjoy your journey… life on two wheels is an amazing experience. 😊😊
Thank you for sharing your experience
I do love the bike, although I ended up buying the Ninja 650. My only criticism with Kawasaki is that there is very little accessories available. That said you can find aftermarket accessories, but I often prefer the manufacturer accessories. 😊😊
Totally agree, good choice
why didn't the video mention that there were multiple options for attaching a part? I spent 3 hours cutting open my helmet this evening, only to find out in the end that there was a second option and I could save myself all that. I will definitely not subscribe to this channel or leave a like because this video took me 3 hours and destroyed my helmet❤❤
Always read the instructions
Thankyou. Perfect video for what I was looking for.
How much does that cost?
250 pounds, a bit steep !
@@nicksepisode thats 325 dollars. Wow. That is one disadvantage with the KTMs, they don't have dog bones like a lot of other bikes. Nice bike though, I'd love to have one.
I'm amazed Honda can produce a 750cc bike with fuel economy that good. It's better than anything except their own CB125F and something like an Enfield 350.
It’s quite remarkable
People do get upset bout Hawaiian pizza.....but I love em (pizza) and meat feast.... 'Ull' east yorkshire.
Coor yes ! 🙌
Love this video. It gives yalls honest take on the two bikes. It paints a clear picture on why many do (and should) start on a 500 (or smaller) bike. And this comes across way better than some BRO who rides a liter bike 100mph talking down to the audience and bad mouthing smaller displacement bikes.
Well said and we are pleased it comes across this way too.
What a very clear video, helps us all, thanks
Cheers Dave
Very informative, thank you. What type of grease are you using on the gasgets? Would lithium grease be OK to use here?
Yeah that’s fine
@@nicksepisode Thanks mate
