It's so crazy that the first thing you said was that you're not here to teach. I've been looking at all of these so-called professional videos looking for time lapse growing results, and you were the only person who gave me what I was looking for. Thank you so much!
I never cared a thing about boxwoods and never really knew anything about them. Since I got further into gardening I’ve come to love evergreens and look for anything that will put up with dry shade and deer. Boxwood fill that need and offer structure in my dry shade garden. Now I just love them! I’ve bought almost every shrub I’ve found on clearance and they’re peppering my gardens.
100% the same. I cringe now to think that I tore out a couple beautiful yew shrubs in my landscape when I was first starting gardening because I just cared about flowers. Silly me. Now I love evergreens and want a ton. Linda Vater has inspired me to try topiary, so I’ve also collected some clearance boxwoods!
You were right. Today is the day and now I'm a subscriber 😂. I just discovered your channel while looking into boxwood inspiration for my garden and this video came up. Love how you showed the growth and how you transformed the original hedge around the fountain and lawn edge to incorporate new boxwood. It looks so pretty. That espalier in the back adds so much to that space i just love it all. Btw, the music you chose was perfect too 👍
I have to tell you - it’s not just that you have developed a beautiful garden- but also your photography skills really shine! Thank you for sharing BOTH!
You are doing great job with boxwood, I love it. I’m trying replace my boxwood which are sickness, anyway you inspire me some for next step. Thank you very much.
I wish I can grow winter boxwood in our area. I live in Winnipeg Canada and I am in zone 3. Every time I plant boxwood , next year it died on me. We have a really harsh winter. But I love all your boxwood and your garden.
I just discovered your channel 10 minutes ago searching youtube boxwoods. You are the best and very humble. Thank you for the tips, and your backyard is beautiful, perfect music selection the melody 🎶 with the video is so calming.
I am really enjoying seeing the transformation of your beautiful garden throughout the years. The boxwoods look excellent. Good care :) I see you have the same rich dark soil that I have in Central Illinois. We are lucky. :) Great vid Roxana
I adore your garden and am learning so much from your videos! I’m currently working on propagating boxwood cuttings (with great success) in preparation for my future garden when we move in a few months! I have so many boxwood hedges planned and am determined to not spend an arm and a leg!
Your hedge is so pretty. The color is gorgeous. I adore boxwoods. Not so much hedges as topiaries. I’ve never done topiaries but want to try it. A friend gave me some cuttings and I’m propagating them. That way if I make a mess of it I at least won’t have a ton of money invested.
I got my boxwoods the same time as your and they look like they’re the same size as yours this year, I am from Kentucky love my boxwoods too 💕 thanks for sharing !
I love boxwoods too I’am learning I planted over 100 of them and I love Japanese maple too and I grown 12 of them thank you for video 😍 love your garden
Always a pleasure seeing your garden Roxanna. I planted 2 hedges of wintergreen boxwoods this year in my front garden beds because of you. I plan on planting more on the side of my house they are just wonderful plants.
I love um I took cutting of mine and have some more growing I take cutting April from the new growth. I was told not to trim it when wet as you can get rot and make sure ur clippers are clean. I feed them march aprul may I only prune in July
Hi Roxanna. I, too, am a boxwood lover, and have several varieties in my landscape. This spring I did a renovation prune on 5 Green Mountain boxwoods that have been in the ground for at least 25 years. I am so pleased with the results, they are growing back fresh and healthy. I have noticed that each morning I have a 3-5 inch stem from one or more of the boxwoods on the ground next to the plant. Can the rabbits be eating my boxwoods in addition to half of my perennials? Do other animals eat boxwoods? I have had a real problem this year with rabbits, etc.
Right?! This was before the whole C*vid mess! I saw a couple early this year at my local Lowes and they were $15 each...same size... I need to find a part time job just to buy plants 😆
Beautiful, I love that boxwood too. You just inspired an extension in my front yard! Maybe I will make a video of it! I have had a hard time finding small ones this season. I cannot handle digging deep big holes due to carpal tunnel so I believe in buying smaller plants and waiting for them to fill in
You just appeared in my feed wow love your garden so pretty kind of want mine to look like yours. Love your quality of the picture what kind of camera ?
The trellis that your honeysuckle is climbing on, is it something you made yourself or was it store-bought? I am a big fan of boxwood hedges too, love 💕 your garden
Love your boxwood!! Wonder how big will they get at maturity?? I’m debating between Baby Gem, Sprinter (heard it’s improved version of Winter Gem) & Winter Gem and also spacing?? Anybody has suggestions? I’m in zone 8b. Tks for sharing !!
I only have experience with winter gem, I have no problems with them or with winter green, I honestly cannot tell them apart, these can get pretty big if I let them but I also like that I can keep them small.
The white-pinkiss flowers are LITTLE quick fire hydrangeas, and I have 2 tall boxwoods on the side. I also have a bunch of perennials like millenium garlic, hellenium(SP?), geranium rozanne.
Hi I’m new to your channel and wanted to know what that orange small like flower behind to your boxwood is called? It’s so pretty also your garden is amazing, I enjoy watching your videos.
Hello! They are helleniums, I can't recall the variety but they come in tons of different colors, they are late bloomers so they just started and they will go until mid fall.
Just planted my 1 gallon boxwoods, and they don't seem to be holding up well! I keep thinking it's because my husband took the boxwood out from their original pot soil and just planting the boxwoods by their roots into our soil. HELP!
@@AliAhmad-gr6hk depending where you live. You want to wait until most of the cold weather is gone because if you start fertilizing too early, the plant might start pushing new growth quickly and a frost could kill those baby leaves… also in the fall, don’t wait too late because a use that new growth after fertilizer needs to be able to survive the winter. For my central Indiana area, I do early May and late August or so.
It's so crazy that the first thing you said was that you're not here to teach. I've been looking at all of these so-called professional videos looking for time lapse growing results, and you were the only person who gave me what I was looking for. Thank you so much!

The boxwoods are growing so well. Your entire garden has really grown so beautifully since 2019. You have been a constant source of inspiration.

That is awesome to hear! Boxwoods are such a staple of the garden in my opinion.

That's a good idea actually. 💡
I have tons growing from cuttings too. It works so well, and I do love free plants. 😀
Home Depot is selling a pair of Japanese boxwoods for $33. Is that a good deal?

You should! They are amazing!
They look amazing, all the colors are perfectly blended. beautiful garden!

I like how it always means expanding the bed 😍
Right?! Little by little!
I like PlantTone too. I put it in every hole of every plant that I plant and even in pots.
Yup... I put it in every hole too :)
Exactly what I wanted to see. I am about to plant my own, and wanted to see what to expect for growth. Thank you for sharing.
Good luck!

I have no clue, I don’t think I know of anything that eats boxwoods… Could it be bunnies?
Today is the day hope you get millions more

@@SoilandMargaritasthank you.
What are those large green hedges behind the winter boxwoods?
Those are Korean Lilacs
Have you tried to split boxwoods (similar to splitting hostas)?
Not really, most of my boxwoods are one trunk
How far did you space each of them?
Can they be planted in clay soil? Is your soil clay? Mine is so id love to know yours or other commenters experience. Thank you😊
I don't have clay soil so I can't confidently answer this but I suppose you can try it for one season for a couple of them and see.
Did you water the dirt before digging to make it easier?
I don’t think so, that would be super messy!
I planted 4 last year and two turned yellow and eventually died. How often did I need to water it?
I hardly water mine, maybe a few times when they first get planted. They are very easy to grow fit me here.
Just planted my 1 gallon boxwoods, and they don't seem to be holding up well!
I keep thinking it's because my husband took the boxwood out from their original pot soil and just planting the boxwoods by their roots into our soil. HELP!
😩 Why did he do that and Why did you let him 😒?
Keep watering them and hopefully they make it.
@@SoilandMargaritas Do you think it'll be safe to redig them out and replant them in a pot until it looks better?
@@theTRAGICdoll-RY honestly that would probably stress them even more.
Are these ok in full sun?? Btw love your garden
They are, they can also handle semi shade
How far apart did you space them?
All the info is on the video 😘
what do you fertilize them with?
Regular balance fertilizer in powder form... whatever I can find locally.
Any specific month ? I read online to do it April June and August. Then another one stated only in April. So not sure.
Thank you very much. I live in Michigan so very close to you. I will follow your tips.
👍
How tall they get?
This variety about 3-5' tall if I let them.
@@SoilandMargaritas recommend fertilizer and how often and soil?
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳NICE‼️
Thank you!
