    Thank you for this vid! I’m a beginner at this and I planted my boxwoods last winter following your tips. Now they’re coming out of hibernation like I just bought them!

    What a great idea about keeping the grass for bare spots elsewhere! I never would’ve thought about that… thanks for the wonderful tip! 🙂🙃

    Good information and presentation! Always good to see how things are done across the ocean (we are a Dutch company). We are specialised in Boxwood for over 35 years now :). One word of advice, don't panic when you come across Box blight. It can easily be prevented and cured. Keep on sharing the good stuff!

      @topbuxusholland Hi! I’m about to plant some boxwoods. I heard about boxwood blight and have always heard that it’s not curable?! How do you cure and prevent boxwood blight? Tks for any tips!! 🙄🤔

    • @topbuxusholland
      @topbuxusholland 2 місяці тому

      @@MsCmsh Hi there! Never water from above (sprinkler), but use a drip hose. A combination of rain (or sprinkler water) , sunshine and warm temperatures can lead to boxwood blight more quickly. Our product, Boxwood Restore & Protect Mix (Amazon), works preventively and curatively against boxwood blight. Spray once a month during the growing season, and the plants will remain lush and green! 👍

    Wow, that soil! I dig and hit some plastic net that they put under the sod and/or rocks. And it is clay 🙍🏽‍♀️. Would LOVE to have your soil!

    Hi Kaleb, I love the content of your videos, and seeing your beautiful boxwood shrubs go into the ground! Several years ago, I drastically cut my boxwoods back by over half because they had outgrown the space. I cut them down from 5 feet tall to no more than 18 inches. Therefore, I had to cut rather large branches, leaving some pretty ugly-looking shrubs behind. At that point, I figured I'd killed them, thus creating a new shrub shopping opportunity for myself. To my surprise and delight, they all survived and came back beautifully, at a more manageable size. Plants are very forgiving, especially if planted in good soil. ~Margie

    As an ocd person and lifetime gardener I would suggest you use some old cardboard boxes or tarp to keep the grass around your workspace safe and easy to cleanup.

    I like your new walkway and wonder what stone it had been constructed with? Really, beautiful I must say and the boxwood add a formal & elegant feel to your new walkway. Your soil is so dark and rich looking. I just had mine amended with compost because I am working with clay soil. Was outside today planting more daylilies and heuchera. One of those glorious days where all is wonderful. Your edging is meticulous and I think we should have our driveway edged be our landscaping company. Thank you, for your fun & inspiring video & your great ideas!

    @9:34 Wait! I heard from other videos that boxwood should not be watered from above to avoid getting the leaves wet. Although I wonder what happens when it rains?
    I'm new to gardening and have been trying to research green velvet boxwood for our new home in zone 5 Northern Illinois.
    So many horror stories of boxwood blight, the moths that lay their larvae inside and fungal spores that can spread with watering the wrong way, improper clipping and not cleaning the tools properly, etc... 😢
    P.S. You make the planting look so easy. I dream of adding them to our new home. ❣️
