I'm not even kidding, it's like you guys are listening to me and my husband! Almost weekly you guys come out with a video related to something we've spoken about that week. You guys are part of the family! SI joints are tricky!
I had horrible right SI joint pain for years...I had x-rays done, MRIs, chiropractic care, Makenzie trainer therapy sessions, acupuncture, and a steroid shot in the back...nothing worked. I finally saw a trained PRI therapist who diagnosed me with a tilted pelvis, and that I was stuck in left AIC pattern....after a couple months of PRI therapy my back pain finally went away...I was literally in tears, it changed my life. I thought my future was over, I was so negative, I couldn’t even walk my dog or grocery shop without sharp SI joint pain and a burning QL muscle. I’m telling you guys...it literally changed my life.
bob and brad, the two most psychic physical therapists on the internet. how is it that whenever i have an issue, your most recent video is exactly what i need?
@@BobandBrad I have a question when I was pregnant with my daughter while in the delivery room with an epidural the Dr ask my former fiancee if he wanted to cut the cord he got super excited and just let go of my leg of course being completely numb I couldn't stop my leg from falling. I came up off of the table about 2inches, the nurse still had my other leg up, I remember thinking man that's going to hurt after my lower half wakes up! It didn't but 10 years later I had a car wreck I wasn't hurt but 2 months later I was in bad shape from vertigo ended up in the hospital which lead to a diagnosis of MS I was in the hospital for a week then rehab center for 6 weeks due to the vertigo I couldn't move very much at all on top of the exacerbated MS symptoms, could my leg being dropped have caused damage to my si joint and I not really have realized it until I was rendered immobile later on? I've had x-rays done for 2 different Dr's (my regular doctor and a specialist) and they both said you need 2new hips and I say NO I'm only 52 . This may sound crazy but I don't want my bones cut! My gut tells me if I do that some illness is going to get in and really take root worse than the MS already has! What do you recommend as to where to start? I have arthritis and bone spurs too (so they say) I'm to the point standing in one spot kills me and walking is really starting to kill me as well which is making my arthritis horrible! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
"Some of our astute followers have noticed me slurring my words. I am not drunk but working with Brad, it would be justifiable! I had 6 infected cysts removed from my mouth (noncancerous), & I have residual scar tissue and numbness. I will try to do better. Thanks. Bob"
The best fix that I've ever found for my SI pain is from one of your old videos on this topic where you recommended hanging the leg on the painful side off the edge of a massage table, or something of a similar height. I just use my bed and put a small pillow under my hip to add a bit of extra height, enough to allow my leg to hang as freely as possible. The weight of the leg unlocks my SI joint, which gets stuck in the cocked backward position. I can feel the pop - and sometimes even hear it - when my SI joint rocks back into its normal position. If I have trouble getting this move to work, I pull my right knee to my chest and hold it while pushing away in isometric fashion, as you showed here, Brad. This move almost never works on its own, but can get things going with the first move. Sometimes, I even ask my husband to push down on my upper knee to add more pressure and he can usually feel something give when my SI rocks back into place. Nothing else even comes close to providing relief and I am forever grateful to you, Bob & Brad, for recommending it. As effective as it is, I wonder why you didn't recommend it in this video. Thanks for all you do to educate us. ~ Lisa
this comment made me feel hopeful. i’ve been dealing with this pain for years, gonna try the trick you’re talking about. do you only do your affected side or do you do both sides? 🙂
@@katrinat1423 Only the side that is affected, my right side. I do hope it helps, Kat. If you don't get relief on the first try, do some of the other moves shown in this video and try again. Perhaps look up their older videos on this topic for even more moves to try. At first, my SI was stubborn and it took twenty minutes or so of lying with my leg hanging off the bed to get results. Now, it rarely takes more than a minute or two before it pops back into place - most times audibly - and the pain is immediately resolved. I hope this helps. Good luck! ~ Lisa
I have sacroiliac issues. For 15 years I had a job that I had right leg lifted pushing on a petal and leaning for 8 hours a day. Thank you for this video.
I’ve had SI joint and coccyx pain for years. I’ve been to physical therapy and Chiropractors. Never heard the information you’re teaching, thank you so much! I can’t really afford the back pod so I’m going to try splitting a Nerf football in two.
Hi have had chronic back pain for 10 + years - I had back surgery 6 years ago - I have several back problem including SI problem bob and brad have helped me a great deal - and I want to thank them - I also want to mention one therapy that helps calm the pain down is bioflex laser - I have tried so many things and in the past 2 years of using this laser it’s the only thing that helps me get through physio and small daily living tasks - as I would flare up over any simple movement ( not just physio -simple daily tasks as easy as and as small as getting dressed) I have watched bob and brad for several years and I continue to do so as I still struggle with chronic back pain and now many other joint problems due to compensation …….hope this helps -Godbless and thank you!
That floor exercise helped so much with what I originally thought was only spinal related. I'm dealing with a number of health issues that have put my torso out of balance, so I'm very thankful to any lower impact land exercises I can perform outside of pool physical therapy.
I may need to give that BackPod a try. For several years, I have been using an SI Belt when sitting that has helped. I also use an Everlasting Comfort Cushion with U-shaped cutout for tailbone at home and I carry an inflatable seat cushion with me for seating away from home.
Thank you guys for this! This is DEFINITELY the problem I've had for over a decade. I'm going to start doing these right now because I'm soooo tired of this pain!
I have that since I fell on ice directly on a concrete stair in 2011. Now I have Fibromyalgia and I can tell you, it's not a nice combo. I'll try those but more carefully considering my pain tolerance. Thanks !
Thank you!!! I’ve had SI pain for two decades at least, off and on. Chiro, physio, stretching, helps, but sitting down makes it worse, and I need one of those foot rests for when I sit at my desk so my feet don’t “ pull” down so to speak. I need to try the first floor exercise, it looks like what I need!!!
@@BobandBrad hands down the best fix . Had a particularly painful SI past few days but after doing this exercise, it’s gone. Felt like my joint was stuck, like it always does when it flares up, but really bad this time, and now I know it has unhinged itself lol. Great relief. While doing the exercise I tend to focus on the joint and when I push in those opposite directions, that movement seems to really know where to go to “release it” so if anyone reads this, focus your movements to the joint and you’ll get a better feel for it and ultimately, relief. Two thumbs up!!! Takes two days to feel better, or at least mine did. I did a few sets on my bed , still ok, floor is better though of course.
Chiropractic care has done complete wonders for my SI joint issues, wish I'd of found one years ago. I feel such pain and weakness my leg feels like it’s going out from under me. Especially like when I go to get into the passenger side if a car…stretches.?. ANY HELP? OH I also have fibromyalgia for 26 years now. This is BRAND BEW..wreck was in ‘12…
Can these be done after Lumber Fusion,3 months in i slipped on a wet tiled floor and landed squarely on my arse. I've see the specialist nothing has moved and he said it would improve with time, as you know it's painful and i0d like to stretch if it doesn't effect the Fusion l234&5 something with the S as well 7 in total?
Thank You.
The one leg glute bridge while activating the opposite hip flexor fixed my problem. I don’t know what the exercise is called.
Could you explain in detail.

My VA neurosurgeon’s response to this issue was “ the human body is not intended to be fifty years old”.
my doctor told me that 20 years ago....i was a little surprised.
