I have been hurting on my right lower back for what seems like forever. Was trying everything. The only thing that gave me relief was laying flat on my back getting ready for sleep until I found your video on this issue. Thank you for that. It instantly relieved the pain/discomfort. I’m going on day 2 and still no pain or discomfort. I will be purchasing the book you mentioned as well. You’re the best!

That book "Sciatic Pain" by Debra Rickzo and the exercises fixed my SI problems that were excruciating, resulting from a fall in a seated position. The belt helped relieve pain and between that and your exercises I improved greatly!!! Thank you.

    Hey Bob and Brad,
I've been a fan of your videos for a bit and you've really helped me keep my muscles loose after a tough workout and provided me piece of mind that I wasn't suffering from some type of arthritis when I experienced some snapping and tightness.
I did have a question for a video. I recently have been experiencing pain in my upper thigh, not during normal walking but weight bearing activities and walking up stairs triggers this. After a bit of research and seeing my physician to rule out anything serious or permanent we determined it was a Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL) strain. It's sure been taking its time to heal up. I looked through your videos and did not find anything specific on the TFL. I was wondering if this might be a topic you'd consider demonstrating on your videos and you might be able to suggest some stretches or exercises to expedite the recovery process.
Thanks guys and keep up the great work!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I've been dealing with this pain for ALMOST A YEAR now and I had no clue what it was and nothing helped completely. Exercise helped sometimes and stretching some times (sometimes made it worse) but after combing through your videos for a while I've been able to find the cause and do the proper things to actually make it go away. Mind you this is just after one night of self adjustment but the relief is unreal. If I could hug you both I might never let go. Seriously... Thank you!

@@bbarns6431 I went to a chiropractor recently, once a week for 3 weeks. She said my SI Joint was locked for a very long time. While these stretches and exercises helped for relief, seeing a chiropractor a few times and resetting that joint did wonders as well. That combined with these and some other core exercises and stretches she gave me to do definitely gave me a lot of mobility and comfort back. I'm not 100% but at least 75% which is amazing considering where I was

Hello! Just discovered your videos and tried a suggested SI adjustment last night and it HELPED. Thank you! Been living with this since last Jan. When I injured it at the gym. Finally starting to have some normalcy and mobility again, but still have a lot of pain when I just do a day of normal activities (walking, some cleaning, cooking, errands exct. ). How often do you suggest doing the stabilization method you posted and other suggested exercises for SI joint pain?

Can't recommend the first exercise highly enough. I had pain in my left buttock, ache in lower back, radiating down thigh after twisting doing some gardening. After doing a series of these (along with the other exercises) the pain has virtually disappeared. I will incorporate these exercises into my spondy routine.

I think my SI pops, because something is popping down there and what else could it be? After sitting for an hour or walking my pelvis around the SI joints hurts so I have to lie down and it adjusts into place.

I have pain and pressure at the waist & below between my hip bones. So I believe it could be SI. I have pressure when I walk in the above described area. I also feel unstable when I walk at the waist and the hip joint (I think). I am pretty limber mid 40' 3 kids...
I also get numbness on the outer left thigh.
I can walk on my heels & tip toe on my toes.
I do not pain down either leg.

I am trying these exercises. They are helping a bit. But my leg still has a bit of stiffness or shot of pain throughout the buttocks down to the ankle. I do stop when pain comes from the motions. But I do feel relief from coming back to the exercises. I have not been diagnosed by any doctor. They could not figure out what it was. This pain makes my shift my weight to one side similar to that of sciatic nerve pinch. My posture is suffering. This pain comes and goes after sleep. Like my body fixes itself for a bit. But returns again.

My sacrum is crooked from a car accident I had ten years ago. I am just now getting treatment started bc the pain has really begun to become unbearable. It has caused my lower spine to become crooked, leaning toward left. My right side of sacrum is higher than the left. which is causing a pinched nerve in the right, spine leaning to left. will these exercises help? are there any I can do at home to help realign or ease the pinched nerve? its not sciatic, its the nerve right next to it, according to dr.

Crazy. I've had back pain for years, been to doctors and physiotherapy I don't even know how many times, no relief. I was having pain down my left leg last night, looked at a picture online to determine location, figured it was the S1 so I youtubed stretches for it. Ended up here, did the second stretch you showed 4 times and had instant relief, cut the pain in half. Crazy, why didn't anyone figure this out before? All the doctors? All the physios? Why did I endure all this pain for years. I'm pissed.

Can anyone explain what SI joint pain feels like? I am having trouble getting a diagnosis. Also surely people with EDS may have trouble due to lax ligaments which are supposed to hold the SI joint in place?

  • @lemonbade
    @lemonbade 3 роки тому

So if the joint moves when the pregnancy hormones affect the ligaments, it’s quite possible that hypermobile people with lax ligaments also can suffer pain due to movement of the joints, would you say? I’ve had SI joint pain for many many years, and have only been treated for facet joint and disc pain, which I am not convinced it is.

To the point that as soon as I am about to go to sleep, my legs start going into spasms and the only relief is to walk around the house for most of the night. As you can imagine, I'm exhausted. Do you think this can be caused by trauma to the back? All and any advice is most welcome.

Taking l tryptophan was the first relief I had from RLS.
Oral and or topical CBD oil helps sometimes.
Massaging legs with a fascia blaster and stretching and performing Pilates movements in bed also really helps.
Downloading all thoughts on a page helps release mental busy-ness which can also make RLS worse.
An epsom salt and lavendar bath are a sure fire fix when all else fails.
I have suffered with RLS for over 40 years. When nothing works I just get up and clean out the bathroom, or a closet or the fridge. At least then my sleeplessness has a positive payoff.
And of course breathe deep and smile.
Good luck. In my experience, it is a balancing act.
I also take potassium and magnesium as well.

Joints not going back after pregnancy is common in EDS, the whole first part of my sentence.... No need to be a rude hag. You should first try re-reading my second sentence... If you needed clarification you could have asked. If you didn't need clarification then your correction outside of a classroom is unwarranted and unnecessary. Unless you're just a miserable hag who has nothing better to do than to harass random people on the internet about grammar nuances.

I have a question unrelated to the video:
How can i address my winging in my scapula?. I always get knots right inside and under the shoulder blade which as much myofascial release i do it doesn't go away. Also when i try to strengthen the serratus anterior with protraction, i feel it mostly in my pec minor and also feel a tingling going down my fingers with the protraction. ( i should mention i have minor scoliosis if this helps) ( and i do weight train which with the winged scapula makes it harder for certain muscle activation.)

@@mel2thegibson For my situation, which is my right sided SI dysfunction, this is the opposite so maybe this will work with left sided. They also stressed that you'd need to get it looked at the determine whether the joint is anteriorly or posteriorly rotated.

Is there a cure to this instead of just relieving the pain

    • @escapefromny2012
      @escapefromny2012 4 роки тому +9

From what I've seen, and experienced, if you strengthen the muscles enough the joint goes back in place and that is the "cure". You will have to keep up the exercise over your lifetime, especially in old age. If the muscles weaken, the pain can come back.

physical therapy only works if a chiropractor alines the joint first--lived it. doing physical therapy before alignment did nothing but cause inflammation, get the joints back in line then strengthen the muscles otherwise you just teach the muscles to preserve the miss-alignments.

PT can actually work to realign the joint. I've also lived this. Then, use exercises to maintain and reinforce the muscular balance.

Yes, my cousin did that for most of his life because when he was a child he was hit by a car and has to have both legs put in a cast. It's like wearing high heels for long time and then trying to flats because the back of your legs have shortened. you need to start doing exercises just for a few seconds each time. you might also want to make sure you're taking magnesium, vitamins D3, B complete, & C. I had my rightAchilles severed then two years later motor vehicle accident with a crushing injury to my left leg. The vitamins really help to keep you from having spasms.

Sorry but for some people physical therapy can be beneficial but for some like me it causes more damage than good. In 1995 I was thrown from a farm tractor through the air and landed on the flat of my back. The impact was hard enough to crush 6 ribs 3 each side. From that time my back has been in a degenerative spiral. Till now I have been through hundreds of hours of therapy and injection treatment. I have had 2 lumbar fusions and 2 cervical fusions and current MRI shows 6 more disc's all in some stage of bulging and damage. I have alot of instability in my spine to point I can actually feel the bones move. I have trouble with nerve pinching affecting my autonomic nerve system causing blood pressure and heart rate issues among many other related symptoms. So what is a person to do like me when physical therapy isn't a option.
